The weekly walkabout had come around again.

'The Quest for Fire-types' he'd begun to call it in his head. He was getting awfully familiar with the Fiery Path and as the weeks went by, his visits only made him more so.

It had gotten to a point where coming here wasn't just fun, it was therapeutic. A little slice of prosperous repetition to focus his spirit and put his previous week in perspective, while focusing on the new week to come and a new pokémon to come as well.

Spotting a glom gave him pause. He'd proudly had one as part of his extended team growing up.

He had no penchant no grass or poison types but there was something so charming about the little oddish he'd encountered that he couldn't help but train him. As a gloom they shared many victories together, but a gloom wasn't quite what he was after, he hoping to come across one later if he ever sought one out...

He kept moving down the fiery path.

It scampered by so fast he could barely make it out. He threw his pokeball to the way releasing what he suspected to be the perfect pokemon to pursue it. He was twice as correct as he thought he was as the Venipede made a valiant attempt to get away from the fletchling that seemed to almost revert to primal instincts.

Rounding the corner in literal hot pursuit of the bug the Sénon saw the gusts of wind and the flapping flames and then nothing.

Fletchling used ACROBATICS; its super effective!
Venipede used Poison Tail!
Fletchling used FLAME CHARGE; its super effective!

Rounding the corner himself he would come to find the Tiny Robin sitting atop a large bug easily four times its mass and three times its weight.

The fletchling chirped happily at the sight of him; doing the twitchy little hops a tiny bird would do looking to his with a crooked head.

Holding out his pointer finger a perch it flew up to land carefully so as not to burn him. With his free hand, he used a spare pokéball to lay claim to the defeated bug-type.

With such a cool aesthetic and color scheme it instantly became one of his favorite 'bugs' and he was happy to add it to the team.

Crimsen attempted to capture Vanipede!
