Even the eldest residents of Petalburg City know Michiko Maeda, or "Michi" as she's affectionately called. She and her husband, a ruin-crawling archaeology professor at the local college, are probably the region's most obsessed (and disgustingly cute) couple, and have kept that record going for almost thirty years. Her neighbors complain that they video chat every night even when he's away.

Truthfully, they don't make women like Michi anymore. She effortlessly straddles a gap between old and new, tradition and modern times, that becomes ever more precarious in an age where Hoenn finds itself dangerously conflicted. Many of her friends from childhood have fled the region, but this born-and-raised Petalburg resident is determined to stay.
