Such odd little creatures.[break][break]

Gavin's path takes him to the aquatic playpen of a particularly active Wooper. It splashes about in the muddy water, seemingly oblivious to the presence of others... until it splashes Lycanroc in its carelessness, and the werewolf lets out a rippling snarl.[break][break]

Gavin has to jump back as it sprays acid toward the pair of them; had it been somehow corrupted by Ultra Beast toxins, like so many from the war? The poisonous liquid hisses at Gavin's feet, and he makes no move to restrain his Lycanroc from tearing into the creature with claws and teeth. Its unconscious form is dropped back into the puddle, and the duo move on.

Gavin doesn't notice the Bergmite until Lycanroc's growl draws him from the stupor of his thoughts. "Leave it," he orders, shooting the werewolf a warning glare when it doesn't immediately silence itself. It quiets down, and they move on.

He's tempted by the sight of a Trapinch digging in the dirt, so set upon its task that it pays the Rocket and his canine no mind. This is the Safari, however, and its bland coloration makes it far less valuable here.

They'll keep looking.

It's not the coloration but the shimmering scales of the Snom that capture Gavin's attention. Frosmoth were common among Circhester natives as they could easily withstand the city's icy climate, and he recognizes the coveted ability for what it was.

He has little personal interest in the bug, but it could fetch interest in the Market or have its niche uses.

He signals Lycanroc. Snarling gleefully, the werewolf hits the unfortunate Snom with a fiery punch. Between its incredible weakness to fire and the Snom's icy scales being useless against the physical attack, it's an easy win. Gavin tosses a ball.

Darumaku is another reminder of home, though Gavin is less familiar with the species. It hops back and forth with boundless energy, a blizzard forming in its wake. It doesn't seem aggressive, and the Rocket takes a moment to enjoy the cooler air. He did not miss the mind-numbing politics of Galar, nor his family, nor even the streets of Circhester, but he did miss the climate.

When it gets too cold, his breath misting in the air and his light jacket failing to block out the biting chill, Gavin snaps his fingers to summon Lycanroc and they move on.

At last, the very creature he'd came to see.

Though it bore no unique coloration nor indeed any distinguishing characteristics at all to set it apart from its species, the existence of an Arctozolt this far from Galar was a blessing that the scientist would not pass up. They were an abomination to the scientific community, but they were fossils nevertheless, and Gavin needed to replace many in his collection.

Lycanroc growls as hail strikes its rocky fur. As with Snom before it, the werewolf aims to dispatch the Arctozolt with fire punch. They tussle for a long moment, Arctozolt discharging excess electricity, until at last the canine buries its foe with a rock slide.

Gavin reaches through a gap in the rocks to prod Arctozolt with one of the safari balls.
