There is a brief pause in their work as the last wall crumbles. Pure darkness is what they meet next, and Avery peers into the dark. It makes her shake quite literally in her boots, and her face pales at the sight. [break][break]

"I-it's so dark.."[break][break]

Fear grips her tight, then, and she barely has the strength to reach for a different pokeball. It's only with the help of her Lucario at her side that she even manages. The Shiinotic that appears glows in the dark, growing brighter and brighter as it's illuminate takes effect. Green and purple fungi skate across the walls, glowing and spreading, helping shine a light on their path.[break][break]

It helps, but barely. They would need a lot more than that to help them travel deeper.[break][break]

the woman is visibly taken aback by the sight of her ex, her voice and wide-eyed expression betraying her surprise. they had parted on good terms, with cait ultimately to blame for the break up as she sought separation. there was an awkward air about her as they began to navigate further into the depths, the woman a bundle of nerves as she remained at sénon's side.

uncomfortable silence permeated around her, that green-eyed gaze remaining averted as she appeared to take great interest in her own scuffed shoes. despite their distance, her attraction toward avery remained steadfast. but she ultimately accepted that the woman was a lost prize - with sénon having found himself the next person to occupy her dreams.

they were both lovely - both desirable in their own way. she swallowed thickly when they reached a portion of a tunnel that required light, with cait throwing her starmie into the mix. the pokemon's innate ability to illuminate aiding them along the way.

"that's my ex," she whispered, directing the under her breath message toward sénon. "the one i talked about."

Always taking on a bit of mentor role in the presence of younger rangers or potential rangers Sénon gave Morgan's question a sharp consideration. "Well..." He stroked his fresh stubble savoring the feel of the tiny spikes at his fingertips. "To be honest I'm not sure but given what we've found in just this level almost at the surface I'd say any lower levels will give us more of the same in greater quality or quantity."

Finding a cluster of Tyrunt fossils was particularly fortuitous and likely hinted at what marvels lie embedded deeper into the dig. They only needed to watch out for each other and play it safe.

A familiar voice cut through the darkness sounded quite frightened at first and then relieved to be among those she knew; Avery Collins, the literal (Baby) Pokémama to his Pokédaddy expertise.

She assimilated into the group quickly wasting no time contributing to the workload and promptly skipping over any expanded introductions for now a generic but honest "Welcome to the team." was enough to allow them to keep moving through the dark passage.

As Cait explained how she knew Avery, Sénon made a face in the darkness, like he'd farted against his own will and it was only a matter of time before everyone else in the elevator smelled it and knew it was he who'd done it. "Oh."

Somehow Cait coming clean about her connection to the silver-haired beauty made him feel sleazy for having ties to them both. Not to mention his demi-goddess of a lover having told him about Avery in the past set him up for it to be a bad look if he were to go "Oh, you mean that Avery?"

Then again, nothing had ever happened between himself and Avery so really there was no need for him to be weird about it right?

Getting back to the task at hand he forth yet another pokémon of his own. Not knowing what he would need for this high priority job he'd brought no less than a dozen from his team.

Mostly still untested among Sénon horde the Ampharos was eager to please and meet whatever objectives the ranger set forth for her. "Use MAGNETIC FLUX, to cave in this blocked pathway. We need to clear a path to the lower levels." With determination, she would obey.

Thank the lord for illuminate, because Morgan would of had no way to see what was right in front of himself let alone the group. Thanks to Cait and now a mysterious lady that Morgan could only assume was avery thanks to the latter had appeared. Morgan had looked around for the other partner that they had but he failed to see them. Was it just a figment of his imagine nation that there was another person here or was it avery all along.

Morgan had no pokemon that could use magnet rise of assist Senon but thankfully the man had a spare pokemon that morgan could use. Taking the pokeball that Senon handed him he released the togedemaru and instructed the small rodent looking pokemon to use magnet rise. During this time, Morgan recalled his blaziken as it would probably be for the best that he only called out his pokemon as and when he needed them. Too much little space in the tunnel and considering that the oxygen would be low he thought he might as well not make unnecessary use of vital element.

With the use of Magnet Rise morgan assisted the in clearing path for the rest of them to continue their path down into the earth. "Senon thanks for lending me the pokemon."

They'd barely made it into the new corridor to resume digging before something hit Sénon in his shin.

"Ow, bitch!" Kick boxing was one thing but he hadn't trained in a fighting -style that called for developed calluses on the shins, so hitting his caused a seering pain that made him foul-mouthed.

Problem was hitting his shin called his attention to what he actually hit it on. A series of what looked a lot like STEALTH ROCKS and bumping into them trigger a line of explosions and cave-in around the group.

With one wall looking the most fragile he decided to test its strength with a restrained attack.

With the rumbling of the cave around them and dust kicking up to cloud their vision he returned all his pokemon to their balls only to call out the one he needed in the moment; a Munchlax. "Use NATURAL GIFT and make it fast!"

Panic ensues not only because of the odd energy she feels emanating off of Cait, and the way she whispers under her breath and seemed surprised or upset to have seen her - but because Senon shouts in alarm and pain, encouraging Avery to flinch and shy away. However, by doing that, coupled with his clumsiness, it encourages a whole slew of hidden stealth rocks to explode. The entire cavern trembles with the impact and she instinctively reaches out for Senon's arm to hide, or rather, cower, with her forehead pressed to his back.[break][break]

"I'm so scared - I want out of here."[break][break]

But when the red-haired man releases a Munchlax, she follows suit to toss her own beloved baby into the mix. The two Pokemon use natural gift together, pushing away the explosions to the best of their ability.[break][break]

while one rock impacted senon's shin, cait had the misfortune of being knocked on the skull. a wave of dizziness and sharp pain reverberated from the point of impact, the girl staggering lightly. her pyroar sought to steady her mistress, a low rumble from the feline betraying her worry.

"'mm fine."

cait groped for a pokemon as things gradually dissolved into chaos, squinting as she plucked a capsule from her belt and a pikachu emerged. the electric-type executed a feint, her mistress a bit too dazed to verbally administer a command.

"'mm..."

cait blinked as she felt something warm and wet slide down her face, her hand reaching up and pulling away to reveal a palm slick with blood.

"oh."

Thanks to senon lending him the pokemon from the before the group was able to proceed through the small corridor. Despite them moving forward something seemed to be going wrong as senon started cussing, releasing some very strong words, whilst cait had hit her head. And all whilst this was happening the new comer had shared to the group that they were scared.

Morgan sighed to himself as he realised that this was not how he had expected to spend his day, but needless to say here he was now. Releasing his blaziken once again, the young man instructed the the flaming chicken to use quick attack on the soft looking rock. With his blaziken following orders the fire type pokemon attacked the same rock that every one elses pokemon had attacked.
