The lower district of Slateport City… once renowned for its splendid night market now reduced to a recovering slums and riddled with petty crime.

A red light shines from the vizor of his helmets eyes as he downwards from the rooftop of a building. It’s a damn shame that he didn’t have time to develop his suit any further. Static briefly crackles against his ear as a voice calls out to him. ”Bzzt. What’chu lookin’ for boss?” a robotic-like voice asks. Hendrix smiles to himself from beneath his helmet.

”Nothing, Shine. You manage to catch anything on the police scanner?” There’s a brief silence before the voice calls out again. ”Bzzt. Nah, boss. Everything seems quiet today.”

What a damn shame, Hendrix can’t help but thing to himself again as he’s interested in taking his suit out for a proper field run. ”Bzzt. You seriously thinking about using that name though, boss? Bzzt. Pokken Rider?”

His brow twitches. ”Hey, hey, hey. I’ll have you know, Pokkenger is an upstanding guy – he did more for Slateport than people give him credit for. Besides, he’s better than the others running around the street in costumes these days.”

the sound of engines revving echoed in the streets as a chase suddenly spilled onto them. a man with a bag spilling bills was being chased by a masked person with a large purple creature flying behind him. pokkenger had been silently patrolling the streets and wasn't expecting to run into a robbery as things had been quiet. guess that was on him for assuming criminals decided to take the day off, still he was determined to stop him from escaping and return that money to its rightful owner.

"slow them down with a sludge wave!" cried out pokkenger as his nagadanel surged forward and spewed purple sludge in the way of the crook. it was thick enough to slow down his bike and cause him to fall off of it screaming, as well as pokkenger when he caught up and realized he was going a bit too fast. both bikes and riders ended up in a heap as they crashed against one another and the crook was suddenly on top of the masked hero trying to punch his lights out with his fists rocking his helmet back and forth.

He's alarmed at the sound of a loud crash. His helmet turns towards the noise as he quickly questions what he heard. "You hear that, Shine?"

"Bzzt. Yeah boss, I heard it. Sounds like it's about 1 kilometer away." the Rotom within his suit chimes. He quickly springs into action, scaling from rooftop to rooftop as electricity begins to spark from the suit. It's a good thing he's developed the Rotom Bike technology properly... He's faster than he's ever been thanks to it, rolling as he lands to the next roof.

From within his visor, he spots a man over a familiar figure, beating into it. "Is that...?" he pauses to ask, recognizing the green helmet almost immediately. His hand balls into a gauntleted fist. "Shine, Discharge." he utters lowly as he begins scaling downwards. Electricity begins to spark around him, gathering into the red gauntlet as he dashes madly towards the man.

He slides forward, punching outwards at him as he slams his gauntleted fist into the man's cheek. Electricity flares outwards as it blasts the man away as the DISCHARGE exits out from his fist, shocking the man terribly.

Looking down at Pokkenger, he offers a hand out. "You okay there?"

as his head bounced around in his helmet kazimir was suddenly relieved when he felt the weight of the guy off of him. sitting back up he was almost certain he was still in some kind of daze as he reached out for the hand and noticed it belonged to someone...that looks a little bit like him. "wha-" it took a second for his vision to kick back to normal that he noticed the costume was similar in design but this was much more stylized, like a scyther or scizzor crossed together kind of image.

"oh yeah thanks for the help. nice outfit." he gave a thumbs up before walking oveer to the crook holding his cheek and twitching on the floor. from his belt the masked hero took out a pair of handcuffs and quickly pulled the guy's arms behind him to tie them together. before he could the crook was quickly enough to throw his head back so hard it managed to hit pokkenger in the temple causing him to let go and give the crook the chance to run. "ow...hey! c'mon we can't let him get away!" pokkenger shouted at the other masked hero before giving chase wiht his naganadel right behind him shooting off dragon pulses to try and trip him up.

”Thanks, I made it myself.” he says somewhat sheepishly as he’s still feeling slightly awe-inspired from the fact that he’s met with the real Pokkenger. Yet, before he can properly bask in his own excitement, the other masked hero takes off, chasing after the criminal that managed to shake himself free.

“Shit, shit, shit.” The criminal bobs and weaves, ducking away as the strange looking pokemon fires off beams from its stinger.

”Bzzt. Uh, boss, you gonna do something?” Shine speaks out, bringing him back down to reality. ”Damn it.” he chides, suddenly smacking the forehead own helmet, feeling ashamed for letting his personal feelings get in the way as he breaks off into a sprint, following closely behind the Pokkenger.

”Thunder Wave protocols.” he says as he manages to sprint up next to the green hero. ”Bzzt. Aye, aye, boss.” Lifting his read gauntlet, he aims his palm over at the criminal as an electric pulse suddenly shoots outwards, zapping the man as it paralyzes him.

“What the fuck?!” the criminal cries out as his movement slows, stalling before he drops to the ground – unable to move due to the paralysis caused by Shine’s THUNDER WAVE.

as the other masked vigilante joins in on the attempt to capture the criminal pokkenger watches in awe as he dispatches him with a bolt of lightning from his own hands. "whoa how did you do that?!" he asked in excitement as he stared at the gauntlet before remembering why he was dealing with a criminal in the first place. grabbing the handcuffs he had dropped earlier he went about to cuffing the guy to his crashed motorcycle and propped them up against the wall. suddenly the sound of sirens reached them and kaz gestured to his naganadel. "ok just like we practiced!" with a nod the purple ultra beast fired off a dragon pulse into the air that exploded like a firework.

that only made the sirens become louder as it was clear that they were coming their way so he returned his pokemon back into its ball and grabbed the other hero's arm and pulled him down another corridor of the alleyway. "this way! the cops can handle the guy on their own." as they were clear and far enough that the cops finding them was very low the hero leaned against one of the walls surrounding him he let out a sigh to catch his breath. "hey that was some pretty cool things ya did back there, didn't think superpowers were-actually scratch that. didn't know there were other heroes around. thanks for the assist." with that he also held out a hand for a shake.

Between him and Pokkenger, the two manage to nab the criminal without causing any additional harm to the structures nearby. Just as the other hero is in awe of his suit’s functionalities, he’s in awe of the alien-like pokemon floating about. He silently watches the green-suited hero cuff the man against the broken-down motorcycle.

His head perks up at the sound of sirens approaching as he inwardly curses at himself for having to run away like some common crook, but before he can take off sprinting, the other hero is quick as he pulls him away into another corridor.

Grunting lowly, he follows after – already feeling the stress from having to run a good distance away. ”You think so?” he asks somewhat sheepishly. ”It’s not really superpowers, but more or less the suit itself.” he says, pointing down at the belt. ”You know how Rotoms are capable of possessing technology and are becoming more and more common thanks to things like Rotom phones, pokedexes and things like that? Well, there’s a rotom inhabiting the suit. That’s how I can do some of the things I do.”

As he reaches out to shake Pokkenger’s hand, there’s a loud buzz that comes out from his helmet’s speaker phones. ”Bzzt. Nice to meet you.” Shine the Rotom chimes in.

the pokkenger's head tilts slightly as the other masked hero is giving off his explanation on how his "powers" work. the only thing kazimir caught was the mention of a rotom phone and rotom dex, the former being something he had recently purchased since they were huge in galar. he was vaguely familiar with how their worked other than the basis that rotoms were just living inside the electronics which now that he thought about it would make sense. it wasn't until he reached out to shake the other's hand that the second voice popping out of nowhere suddenly startled him.

"oh-oh! you got a rotom living in there! ....it doesn't feel cramped does it?" is that how that worked? he wouldn't know he wasn't a rotom himself. "still that's pretty awesome! so you built this whole thing yourself then? wow...wish i was that smart." he mumbled out loud without meaning too until the shaking of the ground suddenly alerted him to a pokemon staring at them at the end of the alleyway. an angry looking duraludon.

a light could be seen from its body that kazimir recognized as an attack and quickly sent out a lucario that rushed in with an aura sphere to send the giant toppling over. it turtled on its back allowing the pokkenger to toss a ball at it to capture it. "streets sure are dangerous out here aren't they? so...who are ya?"

”Bzzt. You could say that I’m skin tight.” Shine promptly replies to the Pokkenger with a hint of smugness in its tone.

If Pokken Rider weren’t in front of his hero, he’d let out a low groan at the terrible pun, instead he begins stretching his arms. ”Yeah, it took a few years to make, but let’s just say that I’ve gotten some extra motivation watching a certain green hero on the news.” he says, alluding his inspiration towards the other hero.

He can feel the low rumbling against the grown, and looking down the hallway, he spots the same thing as Pokkenger, a large steel-beam like pokemon making its slow approach towards a wimpering Yamper. Pokkenger is faster than he is though and sends out his Lucario which promptly topples the pokemon with a single move before a pokeball captures it.

He inwardly thanks the stars above that he’s wearing a helmet; otherwise, he might just keel over and die from embarrassment due to the redness of his cheeks. He sheepishly scratches the side of his helmet with his right index finger. ”Ah, well…” but before Pokken Rider has a chance to say anything else, the Rotom does it for him. ”REJOICE! FOR YOU STAND BEFORE THE GREATNESS THAT IS POKKEN RIDER!”

as the masked green hero rolled the ball around in his palm he almost dropped it as the sudden voice startled him and almost made him jump out of his own suit. "oh man, does he do that a lot? might wanna give a guy some warning next time will ya." the pokkenger took a deep breath as he managed to ease his nerves some more. seriously he was not expecting a big...introduction like that, at least this pokken rider himself seemed humble enough on his own.

"does...does he do that a lot?" seriously talk about a hype man, he was legit curious if that's how he introduced himself to badguys because...that was lowkey sort of amazing. "so pokken rider huh? fine name if i do say so myself." he could piece together the source of its inspiration and he was pretty flattered. seriously to think someone would go out and do what he did, costume and all. maybe he was making a difference. "y'know i bet if we team up we could really change hoenn big time. whaddya say pokken rider?" with that he held out his hand for a handshake, unaware of the pokemon still lurking.
