Maybe he was too convincing? Shin didn’t expect that they would take anything that he said seriously but some of them honestly looked a bit spooked about going into the ruins. close tab played by

He had known that he was already regretting things, but the idea that he wasn’t alone in that made him feel a little bit better. [break][break] Even if the group’s worries seemed to have discouraged Shin. He was doing what he could, and, in a way, Sterling could admire that. It didn’t help with any of his worries, of course, but he was sure that only getting out of the tombs unharmed would calm his nerves. [break][break] There was no backing out, either way; just as he wondered if he could, Shin had pulled out his flashlight and was turning it on to illuminate the mouth of the ruins. [break][break] The second Sterling was inside the catacombs, he forced down a bit of disappointment. Maybe, in a way, he had been expecting treasure and something exciting. But not this. It was all stone, and dirt, and nothing exciting at all. Unless the writing on the wall, revealed by Shin’s flashlight, was exciting. And it may have been to some people, but Sterling was not one of those people. [break][break] As much as he had been hoping for something more interesting, he was still cautious when he made his way closer to Shin, his Sylveon trotting neatly beside him. Once he got close enough, he gave the writing a quick glance, like he was actually paying attention and not because he wanted to be close by in case something happened.
