Kaida had decided she thoroughly hated medical facilities now, but this one wasn't very bad. At the very least, being in the nature-filled Fortree made this place more tolerable. Even if she really only remembered this place in regards to the Littleroot incident. Perhaps she'd make a good memory regarding winning a Gym battle, then perhaps she'd like this place besides the agreeable Alexei. [break][break]

She had chosen two Pokemon for the battle, one of which seemed like an odd choice for a Flying-type Gym, but she trusted Orvar. As long as Kjoll did his job, they'd be fine. [break][break]

"Hello?" She called out as she entered, "I'm here now." She was here to fly just a little, and leave behind some problems just for a moment in the heat of a safe battle.

Thankfully, today wasn’t too crowded as the horde of Pokémon needing medical attention had thinned out already. The antidote was being produced in earnest now, so it was a matter of time before the emergency cases started tapering off, and waning.

Now that the place was quieting down again, there was some semblance of normalcy returning to the Sanctuary, and this time the front desk was manned by none other than Alexei himself—he’d given the original receptionist some time off to handle some family matters.

“Oh, hey,” he waved from the desk, standing up and stretching his arms over his head. “Here for the badge, obviously. Let’s go our back,” he gestured as he led the way down to a side door and held it open, waiting for her to follow him.

Once outside, the shadow of a myriad assortment of Pokémon flew overhead—most of them were migratory Taillow heading somewhere for the winter. Well, the winds were getting colder than usual. There were some much larger shadows lingering around mid-air, hovering before coming down to roost across several perches scattered around the area.

“Arena’s out here, open to the sky. Don’t like the feeling of trapping them in a cage,” he explained as he went to the opposite side of the arena.

“Challengers get the first move.”

Kaida smiled as Alexei showed, a quirk of the lips that vanished as quickly as it came as he led her towards the back. This was a friendly meeting, friendlier than the first time they truly net anyhow, but this was still a battle to win, she knew. [break][break]

At the actual arena, she looked upwards towards the sky. "It's very good, I hope we have a good battle." Obviously, she hoped to win, but she didn't voice it, preferring to instead send out her first Pokemon. Kjoll was large, but not large enough to fear disrupting any building or the arena. The Onix burst to life in a flash of light, rumbling threateningly...he thought it was threatening, at least, and Kaida didn't dissuade the almost lazy sounding rumble. "Kjoll, get ready." [break][break]

On cue, Kjoll slammed his tail down, and soil particles raised from them, clumping together and swirling around. Stealth Rock, an attack she felt was a logical choice.
