[attr="class","light"]it was cold. snow fell from the sky as frosted breath escaped his maw. "it's cold..." he murmured. a cigarette was lit and placed into his mouth, but before closing it he would decide to stomp it out. he didn't need the cancer stick making him any colder. "now i'm gonna be irritated." he needed to get back to work.

outside of fallarbor town. most of zenji's belongings were in a inn he would be staying at tonight. he was currently here in search of pokemon.

The small child bundled in John's arms slept oblivious to the cold. What had originally started as a brisk walk for supplies in a new town had ended up with the two humans getting lost. The heat put off by the quilava's skyrocketing body temperature was much more intense than normal- it was likely intentional. Tako glanced up at him, blinking bright red eyes once before looking back to the road. The clobbopus that oft accompanied the ex-trainer didn't have a care of his own. Supposedly, in Galar, their natural habitat were frigid seas abundant with glaciers and icebergs- he was likely right at home. A soft squeak exited the octopus's diminutive beak as it ambled over to a somewhat distant figure. A person, most likely- though he'll admit that his vision wasn't the best.

He hugged the bundle tighter. "You wouldn't happen to know the way back to Fallarbor, would you?" John spoke up as they drew closer. The fighting type had since run back to his shins, peeking at the person he was attempting to converse with.

the sound of a concussive force was heard deep within the grassy plains. drowning out the young male's question. the source of the sound was none other than probopass and lucario. the pair emerged from the forest as they were engaged. probopass continued to release tri attack relentlessly, aiming for lucario.

the dual-type continually dodged, only to respond with an aura sphere once the chance had been given. with extreme-speed he'd add onto the attack with force palm. "good job," zenji commended. the probopass shakily continued to move, but before it could be given another chance zenji took it upon himself. with one pokeball he'd throw it at the probopass, attempting to capture it.

while the ball shook, zenji would turn to see a newcomer and their pokemon. "woah, didn't see you there. you lost or somethin'?" the professor would ask.

John hummed to himself as he adjusted the weight cradled to his chest. Lightly narrowed eyes saw motion in the distance- a timburr, a delibird- before returning to the person in front of him. "Yes," he admitted again to being lost- perhaps the stranger hadn't heard him the first time. "Sorry to intrude, we need to get back to Fallarbor- the snow covered our old tracks." another pause as the fire type at his heels let the fires burn slightly higher. The Quilava's body language was entirely non-aggressive; it was likely an automatic response to the declining temperature. In contrast, the clobbopus seemed not to mind the frigid weather at all- he was busy chasing the fleeing delibird. He scratched at his jaw with a free finger. Hopefully no confrontations would follow their encounter.
