He kicked himself in the ass more times than he cared to count on the way back to the fiery path.

It had been two weeks since he'd last been. Life had finally managed to get in the way of his ritual, for fifteen weeks he'd walked along this path before distractions broke the chain.

He'd almost missed his walkabout for the third week in a row but from out of no where his lost focus and resolve was delivered back unto as if straight from the wings of a Delibird.

So he roamed the winding heated walkway as he had done since the fall. Hoenn winters were snow-less but it was still a bit colder all the same. Dose moved beside him now as he'd done in their first weeks on the fiery path. Terawr, finally able to be trusted not to bite his allies, moved on the ranger's other side.

He didn't miss the Nidorina moving by, sniffing at a bush before noticing him and running off.

He tried to weigh his options as to whether or not it was worth pursuing. The Nidos weren't particularly in his battle wheelhouse having enough poison types on the team but better types tied to it than simply pure Poison.

Then he remembered that aloof goal tugging at the back of his mind and a Nidorina was a perfect means to start to the long walk down to that old goal.

He snapped his fingers to alert the toddler tyrunt Terawr. An open hand on his slightly extended arm to the left of him told Dose to watch and wait. "Go." The ranger even chomped his teeth to give the baby some direction.

With high exuberance the tyrunt went after the Nidorina cornering it with a stomp.

Tyrunt used STOMPING TANTRUM; its super effective!
Nidorina used TOXIC SPIKES; it had no effect...
Tyrunt used ICE FANG!

At Sénon's instruction Dose was sent into the battle to distract the baby Terawr not unlike a rodeo-clown to keep the prehistoric biter from damaging the unconscious Nido to death.

Despite being larger and more experienced than the tyke, the Poison-type was overwhelmed all the same, a pokéball claiming her in the defeated state.

Crimsen attempted to capture Nidorina!
