The cave was cold, wet, and dark. Three things that was a hindrance. But lucky, the man didn’t have to travel far into the cave to find his first pokemon. The sealeo wiggled into his flashlight spot, bouncing on its belly at the sight of a human. However, Grayson wasn’t interested in a sealeo at the moment. He wasn’t sure what he was looking for but he wasn’t feeling one of them right now. A gave the creature a smile and a goodbye wave, the pokemon seemed confused as the human took his light off of him. The gardevoir hummed, sticking close to Grayson side as the continued their search.

It was getting close to the time when he needed to leave or be trap down here. So with much disappointment, the pair started to make their way back out of the cave. And as they made their way there, a little ice cub pokemon waddled in their path. It stared at them, unsure of what to do. Grayson gave the creature a polite nod and a warm smile. Despite it being a rare ice type, the trainer decided to pass on the capture. Instead, he moved on. The ice type only watched the human walk away before going on its business. Grayson’s search continued.

He could see the light at the end of the tunnel. A sensation of relief washed over him. No, he wasn’t dying. Thank Arceus. But, the cave would soon be underwater. And as far as Grayson knew, there was only on way in and out of the cave. So yes, he was following the light. It also didn’t help that the batteries in his flash light were going out. But just as the man was about to exit the cave, something jumped in front of him.

He took a step back, two different colored eyes widen as a wild pokemon blocked his path out. It took him a moment to register what was going on, observing the creature move back and forth before him. “Hello,” he greeted the gligar, kneeling down to its level, “Sorry for bothering you but we need to leave.” The wild pokemon shook its head in a no, leaping to glide over his head before landing behind him. Grayson stood and turned, puzzled. “I’m sorry,” the trainer mumbled, tone low, “I can’t play.” The gligar frowned, eyes filled with disappointment. The trainer shifted his gaze to his creature, giving her a nod. “Hypnosis.” Grayson wasn’t much of a battler so besides befriending the pokemon, this was his next step.

The Gardevoir turned to the gligar. The wild pokemon suddenly turned alarmed. Grayson smiled. “Trust me,” he explained to the creature in a soft tone, “We will play soon enough.” The psychic and fairy type creature began moving her arms in a slow hypnotizing motion matter. The wild pokemon watch, eyes soon heavy with sleep and knocked out. It snorted, confirming that the status move worked. Reaching into his pocket, the man plucked an empty ball and tossed it at the wild pokemon. It hit, sucking the creature in. It might have been a little dirty but Grayson seriously needed to get out fo the cave. He could already hear the water crashing against the sides and some of the water seeping in.
