Deep hues of orange and red splashed across the sky as the morning sun crept over the horizon. The streets of Slateport City were eerily quiet, as many were still snuggled deep in their bed, resting off the remaining effects from their holiday celebration. Not Danny, though. Rather than rest away her mild hangover, she was dragged out of bed by a pesky call to relocate a nearby Swellow nest. "You're the closest one to it," The operator explained, "No one else can do it right now."

The ranger's lips rested in a weary frown as she slowly trudged towards her destination. "No else can do it my ass." She grumbled to herself. The only thing worse than a morning (nonemergency) call was when that call was given out for a bullshit reason.

As she continued making her way through the empty streets of Slateport, her violet eyes would sweep the area every few minutes or so, ensuring she didn't accidently walk past her destination. Danny's ears perked to the sound of soft chirping. Without hesitation, the ranger broke out into a jog and quickly began tracing the sound to it's source. "Bingo."

There, nested in the power lines, laid what appeared to be a family of swallow Pokémon. Danny's lips quirked into a victorious grin. Step one was finally done.

The blonde was to say the least….an idiot. Billi didn’t think that being on the roof, crawling towards the power lines was dangerous and potentially life threatening! Not like he had a corviknight, or a multitude of insects that could help him get these birds out of their nest and shoo somewhere else. Then again...birds didn’t like to leave their nests willingly. Something would have had to spook them to get them to leave.[break][break]

“Her birdie birdie birdie,” Billi chirped up as he leaned over the edge of the roof trying to food the birds some bread as if that would get them to leave the nest. “Oh….” he noticed someone down there staring at him like…oh, “Oh hi!” he grinned as the bird screeched and flapped their wings making Billi fall backwards, “uuuhh they don’t wanna lleeeaaavvvveeee”

With the nest finally located, all Danny had to do was devise a plan that would evict these birds from their lil home. That is...until she noticed some dimwit leaning over the rooftop, giving out scraps of bread to the birds. Her brows furrowed. “YOU DAMN IDIOT, THAT’S DANGEROUS! GET DOWN BEFORE YO-“ The lecturing was abruptly cut short by the Swallow’s defensive screeching. Sighing, she reached into her pocket and released Starven from his poke ball. The Predator Pokémon chirped happily at his trainer, ready to lend a hand (or a wing?).

Wasting not a single second, Danny quickly climbed herself on top of Starven and gestured for him to take off towards the nearby building the dimwit was spotted on. The two were face to face in a matter of seconds. “First, what the fuck were you doing a second ago,” She immediately growled at him, steam leaking from her ears, ”Second, do you NOT understand how incredibly dangerous that was? You could’ve died.”

Billi grinned laughing a bit as the random girl yelled at him. It wasn’t like he was trying to be stupid. SURE it was dangerous and yes he could have died, but it wasn’t on the forefront of his brain. And honestly, he just wanted to get the bird close enough that he could lift it out of the nest so he could take care of its wing. “Oh I know!” he laughed a bit at the girl shrugging off her concern.[break][break]

“Birds like breads and I figured they’d come closer to me so I could pick it up, and move it, so I can help fix it’s wings,” he nodded explaining his intentions as the large bird pokemon clearly wasn’t having it. Billi just left his pokemon in their pokeballs, just to avoid any stress that may have been caused. “They refuse to move so….like yeah I was hoping they’d like a yummy snack!”

The man's explanation frustrated the ranger. With a heavy breath and furrowed brows, she demounted off of Starven then marched over to the grinning blonde. "That's still no excuse for risking your life," She shook her head. The man looked old enough to know such a stunt was borderline suicidal, yet here she was, still lecturing him on the do's and don'ts of not dying. "...What made you think of feeding the birds?" From her experience, people don't naturally find themselves climbing onto buildings just to feed a bird. There had to be a reason - unless this man was crazier than she gave him credit for.

As she awaited an answer from him, her eyes slowly drifted towards the nestled birds, curious if they were still alerted by the man's failed attempts of seduction. From the looks of it, the mother Swellow was suspiciously messing with their right wing, as well as shielding her children from the duo. The sight made Danny question whether the bird was injured or not. If so, that would make this mission a liiiiittle more complex than your typical nest removal job. She nibbled gently on her bottom lip, her eyes searching the bird as if there was an answer hidden between their blue feathers.
