Fuck this place.

Not that there’s anything wrong with it but Snowpoint is the last place to visit for ‘vacation’. There’s nothing here but cold weather and ruins laced with built up history. Which, is interesting, mind you, but they’re not here long enough to do anything substantial. Not unless Katherine has procured some research or historians without telling him.

“It’s open.”

Fernando remains inside his room, stripped short of little more than his boxers and thermal under wear. Coincidentally enough, he’s more than prepared with various belts wrapped around his waist, shoulders, and both arms. Each one has a little holster for Pokeballs and he comes out strapped with a small army. She’ll catch him as he starts to pull up his pants, buttoning up his slacks as he puts the finishing touches on his choice of Pokemon.

On the coffee table is his laptop, split into two separate windows, one flashing wildly due to his excessive notifications, while the other is on a conference call with LILLIAN GLASS. The television is on, playing the local news, but that’s just background noise. His Zygarde remains perched near the balcony window, watching him put on the last touches to his outfit.

A sweater sits on the door outside along with another belt containing his main team.

Fernando is adamant to a fault. Although someone else touching his computer is considered taboo, he let’s the slight go. No point in arguing over nothing.

“How much do you know about Snowpoint? About Sinnoh? That was our itinerary,” he explains as he makes a grab for his sweater. It’s the same winter wear Silph Co. produced as part of the Pokeathalon promotion and Laurence Anderson has tested it enough for it to prove effective. It won’t render him warm in all conditions but it’ll bite back the snow and ice much better than any simple sweater found in a typical clothing store.

Her own itinerary doesn’t sound half bad but it doesn’t match what he expected.

“Oh.”

When he gets close enough to the door, the Zygarde follows, too important to be left behind. Although its form resembles a canine, it knows better acts as a Legendary in hiding should. Discretely.

“Don’t be rude.”

He pauses.

“Let’s go.”

[attr="class","spiral"]“Oh. So you didn’t—” Fernando skips that point entirely because he had expected another underlying agenda. But if that isn’t the case, maybe he’s giving her too much credit. For most people, they lie on one side of the spectrum; they’re either incredibly simple and therefore stupid, or smart enough that it makes them devious. So far, Katherine seems to be the only one he can plant somewhere in the middle, but even then he’s unsure.

“To Sinnoh, for business, several times. Snowpoint? Not that I know of. Maybe when I was younger?”

Departing from the hotel proves much faster once she gets him out of his room. Several people stare at the Zygarde questioningly, none able to recognize it, but Fernando doesn’t mind. Having it out eases his sense of worry in more ways than one.

“How about you?”

Leaving the hotel leads to a small rental car fit for the environment. Fernando offers to let her drive in his stead because a, he doesn’t want the responsibility or hearing someone else back seat driving, and b, his time is better spent on his phone. Depending on who drives determine how he spends his time. If given the opportunity, he talks about decent eats nearby as well as any places of interest outside of Snowpoint.

“I’d like to stop by Canalave at another time if possible but the Resort Area is a good time.”

He tinkers with Zygarde’s Pokeball, long recalled it since they left.

“What are you looking to accomplish with your ‘vacation’.”

[attr="class","spiral"]Fernando blinks, once, before frowning but never turning away from his phone. His own confidence in surviving a collision in the snow is higher than it should be but Hoenn’s recent predicaments have warped his sense of urgency. If he is to die, it will be in office, somewhere on the desolate land of idjits.

“And so you picked Snowpoint. Interesting.”

It kind of makes sense considering the fact she’s never been anywhere outside of Hoenn but he also doesn’t know enough about Katherine to judge one way or another. She just doesn’t seem to the type to be into history or lore. Then again, neither does he but very few know about Fernando’s upbringing.

A good tome reminds him of Elysia and that is enough to melt his heart ten fold.

“Well, just make sure you do it after I leave office, Fairburne.”

They can’t arrive soon enough.
