The job wasn't kind enough to wait for him to feel ready before making the call.

Some jackass kids had set fire to a forest near a temple of historical value, and of course, all league staff nearby had been immediately called to deal with it before it got out of control.

Doug wasn't one to ignore responsibility, regardless of how shit he felt.

Flying to the location of the fire on the back of his Flygon, the youth was able to get a good look at the reach of the fire as they surveyed the area for any other first responders.

They found the sole one rather quickly, the bursts of Hydro Pump from one of his pokemon standing out from the background of burning greenery.

Guirus quickly zoomed down towards the man, coming to a booming stop nearby before his trainer leapt off him.

"Reporting for duty!" He said as he produced four Net balls, throwing them in the air.

His Dewpider, Golisopod, Frosmoth and Accelgor appeared on the scene, taking in their surroundings before the youth quickly launched himself into orders.

"Entrainment!" He said to his Dewpider, who immediately turned to the Golisopod and the Accelgor. A pulse and burst of shine later, and both pokemon shuddered in place, before summoning Water bubbles around themselves.

"Razor Shell! Water Shuriken! Dull 'em off!" The Golisopod and Accelgor, now in their new bubbles, burst to action. With each slash of her claws, Large, dull crescent moons of water were sent into the burning trees. Likewise, dull shurikens of water flew towards the fire as the Accelgor fleeted about.

As the scythes and flying stars met their charge, they exploded into masses of water- but of course, this alone was not enough.

"Lepirax, get started! Blizzard!" He ordered, his Frosmoth beginning to flap her wings, ice, snow and cold wind blasting into the heated atmosphere of the forest. There was a point to it- but it would take a while.

Turning his attention back to his other companion, he looked over his two pokemon, before turning his attention to them.

"Sir! Wanna water bubble 'em?" He said, gesturing towards his Dewpider. With Entrainment, she could give any pokemon her own ability; one that both halved all fire damage and doubled the power of water type moves.

It could also, technically, served as a body of water.

The youth held up a thumbs up to the man, nodding.

With that confirmed, the youth gestured to the Dewpider to stay with the man, her job clear.

Turning back to his pokemon and the massive fire, he clicked his tongue. Kira didn't really have any wide spread water type moves, and Namegon's water shuriken were not powerful enough to do more than momentarily slow down the fires.

It looked like it was up to Lepi to carry the team for now.

"Kira, Namegon, keep as you are! Lepirax- spread your scales!"

The coldness of a Frosmoth's scales was that of -290 degrees Fahrenheit, or about -179 degrees celcius.

As the moth spread its wings and took flight, soaring over the blazing parts of the forest, glittering white scales rained down upon the fires, their abject coldness momentarily putting a stop to the blazes' advance.

Relief flooded the youth as the rest of the man's pokemon took to the field. The blazing flames seemed much less problematic when a Gyarados was in sight. Still, even such waterpower wasn't quite enough to put down the forest fire.

Doug glanced the man's way as he called out, nodding his head before turning his gaze back to his own pokemon, returning all but Guirus and Lepirax to their net ball, before mounting his Flygon once again.

Taking flight, the young man's dragon soared over the fires of the forest, the rider atop it throwing out his pokeballs one at a time to different edges, his respective pokemon resuming their barrage upon the flames to contain and suppress its advance.

The frosmoth redoubled its own efforts, raining down its icy scales upon the blaze.

The young man grasped the edge of his hat and waved it down at the man on the ground floor to signal he was ready, knowing his voice wouldn't reach him this far in the sky.

He did indeed have a plan- and in the absence of a rainy dancer, it all hung on his Frosmoth's shoulders.

The frozen bug rose high in the sky towards what appeared to be the center of the forest fire, her wings beating strongly as she fluttered to and fro in an elegant manner, her many scales pouring down unto the fires below as focused, her movements growing in speed and sharpness.

The other bugs he had released on the outskirts of the fire on maverick noah ryder's instructions were hard at work attempting to contain the damages, and that combined with the other man's powerful water type pokemon was what allowed the Frosmoth the time to prepare.

As a minute of dancing came to pass, Lepirax finally released a booming screech, the skies above darkened to a pitch black.

With a sweep of her wings, snowfall occurred. A whipping Blizzard fell upon, the temperatures swiftly decreasing as the Frosmoth descended, bringing heavy winds and snow with her.

With the fires settled down, Doug was able to swoop back down to earth to finally meet his temporary companion.

Grinned at the man's thanks, the youth nodded, reaching forward to shake the man's hand.

"Likewise! Yer pokemon were lifesavers back there- yer instructions too." He said. The two managed to exchange names before parting ways.

They would both need them for their respective reports- and it was nice to make new acquaintances.
