“Yeah sure...I have time!” Billi mentioned over the phone to Alexei, the drag mother, his drag mother, and his drag idol. So it was nice when he got ahold of Alexei to come over and help him fix this person's self image of themselves. A burn lined the boy's face, or maybe it was a birthmark? Billi didn’t ask, nor did he honestly care to ask because he understood the pain they felt within their own body.[break][break]

“Yeah he’s excited. He’s only fifteen but was at pride last year apparently and it made him happy. And I figured I’d set it up for him! He can’t challenge my gym yet because he doesn’t have a pokemon, but...you know he was happy to participate regardless,” Billi mentioned before hearing Alexei’s voice on the other side of the door, “HI MAMA” Billi grinned as the door open up! “He’s inside!”

Of course—Alexei wasn’t going to say ‘no’ to helping his one and only drag son out.

The moment he’d begun waxing poetic about the young man who had problems with his self-esteem and yet was brave enough to attend pride the previous year he couldn’t help himself.

“Give me like, an hour.”

Of course, he’d gotten better dressing up and applying the makeup on. The heels were no matter at this point. He’d been throwing himself into drag more often than usual, to drown out the dark thoughts that plagued him on a constant basis in the evenings.

He didn’t send warning to Billi though, that he was going to show up already dressed and ready to go! Lugging along the traveling case that had enough extra makeup and equipment to paint an entire house (if not more) he eventually arrived and chuckled.

Okay, how was he going to do this—ah.

“Hello, dearest,” he—she crooned the moment she came hustling through the door, bringing along the case behind her.

Yes, he was going to do this in drag, if but to help the poor, unfortunate soul get used to seeing others all dressed up and glamorous.

“Ah—is this the young man?” she inquired, one of the biggest smiles to cross his face appearing. “There’s no need to be afraid—come on, come on, do tell me something about yourself.”

Yes, she was going to get the young man comfortable, get ‘im talking, before the transformation would begin.

Alexei was a wise man, and needless to say the queen that was his mother was even better. Confidence for days, and the power to entertain a crowd like they were nothing. So who better to give a young man with confidence issues! Well sure Billi had the confidence to do it, but that wasn’t the point! The point was to inspire and spread some love to everyone. It just happened that Alexei was willing, and was rewarded with a gym badge.[break][break]

“Hello,” the boy smiled as the drag queen entered the room, he was a little awkward with his orange hair laid nicely across his shoulders. It was clear he made his shoulders a weaker posture, making himself appear smaller. “Oh…..I’m Hiro,” he grinned looking up at the glamazon! “Ohhhh you’re really tall!” he complimented the queen, “I’m from Petalburg!” he smiled brighter, “I’m not allowed in any bars or anything yet! So I really wanted to have fun…..I say drag queens but I dunno what to do to look like you,”

“Oh, honey,” she began, fussing over the teenager as she walked around the young man, “You have so much potential!”

Giving a knowing look over at Billi, she grinned mischievously.

“I brought over my entire… haul of extra supplies,” she continued, gesturing at the case that followed after her. Purple on the outside, it sparkled with a galaxy-like quality. Turning to face Hiro once more, she continued, “Don’t slouch over like that, you have to project! Confidence is key, you know.”

At the same time she was saying this, she proceeded to ruffle and fix the burning-orange hair (“Do you mind?”), trying to get a better picture of how the hair would look all glammed up and done.

“Are you allergic to any make up?”

The boy blinked as his hair was played with! His mother always told him to brush it but it always became so frizzy, so he just kinda let it do it’s own thing, and it kinda worked out for him! Luckily the drag queen loved his hair. “You like my hair,” he asked trying to figure it out, and it was true, confidence was key. He huffed down crossing his arms, “I wouldn’t know! I don’t think so! “ he mentioned but yeah, he wasn’t gonna sit here and lie, because he didn’t know.

“Arm, please,” she continued as she reached over for the purple luggage case with her other hand and wheeled it over before gently tipping it over onto one side.

After finding the latch that held the thing together, it slowly opened much like Aphrodite’s shell when it came rising out of the ocean.

“We have to test first and make sure you’re not allergic to anything, because you never know. No worries, all of these are hypoallergenic,” she reassured as she began searching through the foundation section, finding several hues to work with.

“Dear,” she gestured in Billi’s direction once she was done swatching several tints on Hiro’s arm, “Which one do you think matches him? I need a second opinion.”

“Yeah okay! That makes sense,” the boy nodded and thought to himself for a second, before turning to Billi who was grabbed his attention by Alexei. The make up appeared to be either too light or too dark on one side. “Oh...hmmm you gotta mix em! His skin is fair but it’s in between those,” Billi commented, “His skin is different from ours so I guess we might not have the shade! Good thing you can figure stuff out right?!” Billi blinked and turned to Alexei, “so what pokemon are we doing?” billi asked.

“Blending, interesting,” she winked in Billi’s direction—choosing the two that he had pointed at before intentionally brushing them together. After an indeterminate amount of time, he looked up for brief observations before returning to his handiwork.

“Oh, there we go, looks much better,” she continued as the shade aligned with little Hiro’s own.

“I was thinking—rebirth. Like… Ho-oh? Only that may be way too grandiose. What about… hmm, I’m torn between either the Fletchling line or the Larvesta line,” she continued as she took another walk around Hiro.

“He certainly has the hair to pull it off, don’t you think? Have to start simple and work up to Ho-oh, don’t get too overwhelmed! Hiro, what do you think?”

Both Pokémon mentioned had fiery plumage hued with an orange sheen, and would definitely complement the young boy’s hair.

Billi thought it was perfect! The idea of doing a cute little fire pokemon style makeup on! It was brilliant! Granted Billi had a dress nearby that was Ho-Oh inspired, and it shed feathers like crazy, and changed plumage quickly. “Yeah do that! That totally works! And it’s easy because of his hair,” the boy raised his brows confused, “because of my hair?” he thought, “So you’re using my hair,” Hiro asked looking back at Alexei, not great at sitting still.

“When we dress up,” she began, crouching down so that she and Hiro were facing each other eye to eye, “we make use of everything we have. In your case, one of your most defining features is your hair.”

With a little flourish, she flicked a little bit of the orange hair in the young boy’s face.

“Also, I’ll let you choose—which one of these two do you want to embody?” she continued, flicking through her phone and coming upon a picture of the Fletchling evolution line first, and showing it to Hiro. After the first pictures were shown, she pulled up the other evolution line she had in mind—the Larvesta evolution line, and showed it as well.

“Pick which one you want to work towards. We’ll get to the make up once you decide.”

Hiro found himself staring at the pictures as his hair was moved around. “oh yeah? My hair is always wild,” he nodded before staring at the picture. “Ohh larvesta! It’s red and white! Kinda fluffy!” he grinned thinking about it more. Imagining what it would be like. “Ohhhh so like am I gonna look exactly like one? Or will it be all pretty?” he asked kindly.

“Oh, don’t worry—we’ll make it work,” she remarked with a grin as she opened the picture on the Larvesta evolution line. “Soft and fluffy. Hiro, can you twirl for me?”

Just so the young man didn’t get confused, she did her own version of a twirl by spinning around in place, with a grace just so. This caused the bottom half of her outfit to billow around and follow her in a whirl of pink.

“Red, orange, yellow—just like that fictional ‘girl on fire’,” she mused with a grin. Turning back to face Hiro, she tapped him gently on the shoulders.

“Hold those up high, don’t be ashamed and crouch. Hiding your form is unbecoming. You need to project, be confident, face the world head-on—and I have just the thing.”

Returning back to the make-up assembly, she pulled it closer and started picking out more complementary shades of red, orange and yellow.

“You will be reborn.”

Alexei was going in, on this boy’s face, and Billi watched from a safe distance. Granted Alexei did the exact same thing to him, beating his face like it was picasso painting. Hiro paused and tried keeping his face still so the man could paint it with accuracy. “oooh those are really pretty!” Billi mentioned trying to look closer, and the boy nodded at Alexei, “I will try! You guys are strong so I gotta do it too,”

Now that they were getting down to business, she was busy—busy, lost in her own little world. Applying the base layer first, before proceeding to blend over young Hiro’s face.

Slowly, surely, the scar on Hiro’s face vanished under the base layer of make-up.

“Keep still,” she remarked, moving over to the other side of Hiro’s face as she continued working. The layers of make-up were coming together, and once the base layer was done, she took a step back and picked up a mirror.

“Take a look, what do you think?” she asked the young man. The scar was no longer there—blended in with the base layer of foundation that she’d meticulously applied on their face.
