A few blinks left Mercutio as he watched the other man do a trick move on the spearow. Honestly this was..surprising to him. Never had he seen a trainer use a rock to distract a pokemon; by having it hit the bird, and then throw a pokeball while it was getting ready to unleash it's fury. It was certainly different but, Mercutio didn't know what to say in response to it. Instead, he heard the loud screech of another bird pokemon, causing him to tense as well as the small bug in his arms.

Sure enough, a larger bird appeared. Spreading it's large wings out as it dived at him. This pokemon wasn't afraid of humans it seemed...fearless even, as it was going for the bug pokemon with Mercutio's grasp. It didn't care that someone was holding it...this bird was brave enough to try and risk getting in contact with humans to get a meal. Had it been following the clefable and kricketot? Possible. As Mercutio took a side step and raised a arm to shield his new party memember, the sharp talons hit his arm. Tearing the fabric and causing some blood to leave his arm.

Alright then...if this bird was going to be this foolish and willing for a fight, maybe he could use that. As the Staravia flew higher into the air, getting ready to make a come back. Mercutio unleashed his granbull, the purple dog landed firmly on her hindpaws with a loud bark leaving her. She glanced to Mercutio, already noticing the small trickle of blood and the small pokemon he was holding firm to his chest; the bug making scared sounds as it tried to find a way to hide closer against the man despite him already shielding it.

"Maybelle, wait for my signal..." Mercutio instructed, his green eyes never moving from the bird as it circled above them.

A loud screech left it as it dived down and the granbull growled lowly. Adjusting her stance as she waited for the order to be given. The bird was diving headfirst, it's talons close to it's body....just a few...

"Headbutt, now!!" Mercutio ordered, the granbull launched itself upward with all it's might.

Due to how fast their divebomb was becoming, the staravia attempted to pull up. HOwever, doing so slowed it some as they tried to fight the wind tunnel they made for themself. Allowing for the thick skull of the granbull to strike part of their chest but mostly the underside of their neck. The bird let out a cough like sound as it spiraled out of control. Slamming into the stone ground. Pulling out a pokeball, Mercutio threw it at the bird. Hoping to get it into the ball before it could cause more trouble.

Watching the other redhead capture a Staravia he noticed they worked pretty well together. Then he realized something.

He had no idea who this man was. Given how close they were capturing together Senon barely had to raise his voice for it to travel over to the man. "We never introduced ourselves did we?"

Just as he brought up the subject an Igglybuff appeared. Comfortable enough to come to him he picked up the baby.

Softly it sang a short tune to him and testing its memory he whistled the song back, causing it to jump and squee. Taking it one step further he whistled a short tune to the baby and sure enough if he did it once or twice, it would repeat the whistle with song.

It was actually pretty skilled and made a good impression on the ranger instantly.

Crimsen attempted to befriend Igglybuff!

"I'm Sénon, Game." He identified himself to the other man, bouncing the joyful Igglybuff on his knee.

"No we didn't really get the chance to do so." Mercutio admitted, adjusting his hold on the Kricketot and he examined the broken skin on his arm.

It wasn't bad enough to put concern into him. Yes he would wash the wound out when he got a chance but he wasn't going to fret over it for now. It was a simple injury that would probably heal in a day or so. The man waited for the introduction of the small igglybuff to end, allowing the small whistling tune to be repeated. Even the kricketot made a few jingle sounds, wising to imitate the music around them. It as quite amusing.

"Mercutio Kyle." Mercutio introduced himself after Senon. "Pleasure to meet you, Sir Game."

It was a interesting name, certainly one he hadn't heard of before. He caught a glimpse of the other bug pokemon but he didn't pay it anymind. He already had the kricketot in his arms and honestly, he wasn't sure on if he wanted a second one already.

It seemed he was being hit with an onslaught of Fairy Pokémon; pink ones specifically.

When the third one in row approached he thought of avery jones . With no strong attachment or desire to capture the fairy for himself he thought it would be a great gift to make up for how quickly he'd had to take off from their lunch "date" a couple months back. There was also the fact that they didn't get to talk much during the excavation in mauville.

Unwilling to be even a little cruel to what DEXapp called an "Audino" he called forth another pokémon to draw in the fairy without conflict.

Babysaur, the Bulbasaur was universally adorable and without a second thought of seeing him the Audino came over to greet and play with the leaf-ling only to come in range of a more peaceful means of incapacitation. "Baby, use Sleep Powder"

Babysaur used Sleep Powder!

With a big smile and slight shimmy the smallest area containing the two pokémon was covered in sleep-inducing spores. Not fearful or distrusting enough to run away the Audino breathed in deep and was sleeping in seconds, where a Premiere Ball would provide him a safer place to do so.

Crimsen attempted to capture Audino!

With another moment for breathing room he turned back to the other redhead. "Sir Game? That's a formal way to address me, Mr. Kyle. Are you Galarian?"

Indeed it was just habit and a required thing for him to do in the Apricot household. So it remained even outside of the household. IT probably wasn't a good thing. Perhaps he should try to not...always do that? But at the same time he'd been seen doing it all the time anyway, what was the point in doing otherwise?

Mercutio didn't even bother looking at the two pokemon that appeared. Senon was already catching the one and honestly, Mercutio wasn't quite in the mood now to try and see if something appealed to him. Maybe in a few moments once the subject changed, he'd be more in the mood?

Going into a stretch his grocery bags jangled and bounced as he limbered up. He wouldn't be out here for much longer. Another two or three captures and he'd call it a productive day. He really did want to point this guy in the right direction before they parted ways. If the Fairy and Normal types were appealing to him, maybe something with a little more bite would be up his alley.

"There's a place I go to once a week; the Fiery Path."

He pointed north at the long expanse of terrain before them dotting the horizon. "North of here along Route 110 is Mauville City." Closing his eyes he imagined the path as he explained further. "North of that, to and beyond Mauville City is Route 111."

"At the end of Route 111 the path hooks left into Route 113." He opened his eyes again. "Before you hit Route 113, halfway through Route 111, is the entryway to Route 112." He cleared his throat as he gave clear directions.

"Along Route 112 you'll find the entry up to the top of Mt. Chimney. The first section, the Jagged Pass, is where many Fighting and Psychic-type clash to make a home. Beyond that, at the end of the Jagged Pass; you'll find the Fiery Path; where ash falls from the volcano top and Fire pokémon dwell, some poison types too."

"So multiple places then?" mercutio questioned, tilting his head slightly.

A lot of going north it sounded like. Though he at least new the routes that the man spoke of. Route 110, the city of Maulville, and then Route 111? He hadn't gone looking in either area, so it would be a new experience going to those places. So he was just going to have to give it a go.

"Alright, I'll give those places a try." mercutio replied, a small nod leaving him.

It was the only thing he could think to say. And honestly, he had nothing to lose if he went there.

Look at me. Actually having directions memorized now. Hot damn. He thought to himself in a bit of surprise. Truly, he held hope if not the Fiery Path itself, then all the encounters along the way would give Mercutio Kyle some pokémon to satisfy his need for... whatever he needed a pokémon for.

Given his consideration at each of his choices Sénon would have guessed he was looking for a full-on companion, not just a means to an end like most trainers no matter how meaningful those means were treated and regarded.

How did the old adage go? "Two hearts so true; our courage will pull us through, you teach me and I'll teach you."

He couldn't sit long reminiscing on his childhood mantras before yet another pokémon from his childhood came by. In all his hunts for the last six months he'd never encountered an eevee in the wild. Even if he had to get a little rough with it, he wasn't going to let it go. With a double snap he ordered his bulbasaur to reuse the same move he'd just used, but the eevee was ready for a fight.

Eevee used TAKE DOWN!
Babysaur used SLEEP POWDER!
Eevee used COPY CAT; Eevee used SLEEP POWDER!
^{(Babysaur fell asleep!)}

Impressively the Eevee took down one of his toughest younger pokémon and did so quite cleverly. Not willing to let it slip through his fingers an older and far more distinguished pokémon would take over.

Not willing to go without a fight the eevee once again attacked first with a TAKE DOWN but would quickly be put down after. "Dose! Use Revenge!"

Eevee used TAKE DOWN!
Dose used REVENGE; its Super Effective, Critical Hit!

The Evolution Pokémon struggled to its feet with wobbly legs before a Premiere Ball took away the last of its fight. The Ranger excited about the fighting potential of the scrappy little Eevee that managed to beat one of his own.

Eevee was a very useful pokemon, it was unique with all it's varying evolutions. The potential it had was great. Truthfully, Mercutio was hopeful for what potential evolutions could come about in the future. This pokemon was always changing, once every few years or so, it seemed to gain a new evolution. He watched as Senone handled the fight with the eevee and this normal pokemon seemed to be a bit more hardy as it stood it's ground longer. It had a strong spirit in his mind.

The obstagoon caught his attention as he heard it making a noise. Glancing over his shoulder, he saw it sticking it's tongue out before rushing off. Mercutio gave a sigh and shook his head. This just wasn't the grandest of days to look for something when you weren't really planning on it. Should he just go for a pokemon without thinking it over?

"Do you considering the pokemon before you catch it? Or do you already have a plan?" Mercutio asked.

Passing over another pokémon Mercuito seemed vexed. Perhaps Sénon throwing pokéballs left and right every couple of minutes seemed strange or greedy. "I've been a pokémon trainer for almost twenty years now. I've had a lot of time to develop my tastes and understand what I'm looking for in a pokémon right away."

It was usually instinctual in a wild encounter either the wild had it or they didn't. Sometimes the "it" was a feeling and sometimes it was a fact. "Sometimes I catch 'em to train. Sometimes I catch 'em to trade. Sometimes I catch em because I know how rare they are."

He could think of a few sparkling shiny pokémon back in his PC that he captured simply because of their rarity. Someone else would see in them something beyond the obscurity of their colors, as he saw them. "I hardly ever go looking for a specific species of pokémon. I'm usually after a certain-type or after a group that can perform a certain move or after any one that is capable of a certain level of defensive or speed."

He'd hoped he made some sense but it was Mercutio he found to be equally vexing. "Do you have a favorite pokémon type, or personality, or region, or color?"
