Yui had been bugging Fernando to go with her to see the Pokémon tournaments happening in town because of the new year festivals going on. However he was extremely busy but didn't trust her alone to not get into trouble, so he had decided to ask if Mateo had spare time to babysit the girl despite her 20 years of age. It was purely so she wouldn't get into trouble and cause a headache for Fernando and or the league or Silph co or anyone in general. She had arrived at the lobby for the battle, it was night time and she was dressed in a full traditional yukata from Kanto. She waited outside for him to show up. She believe she got a glance of him during the dinner for new years but she wasn't entirely sure if it was the right Mateo or not. He was apparently one of the Elite 4 so she was going to try to be on her best behavior for him. Emphasis on try.

he uttered from behind the girl. once she turned she would come to witness mateo's attire consist of a jinbei look. his hair, normally tall and spiky, had been held back by a hairband. this was his casual look for today's festival. behind him stood his trusted sceptile and dragonite, long time partners since birth.

"you must be 'nando's new gal, yui?" he was told about them being a pigtailed blonde. so this must be her. "i'm just here to chaperone, so don't go gettin' any idea of running off. sceptile and dragonite will catch you before you can," he warned her. hopefully this mission wouldn't be a drag. but he was being paid, so it was worth the hassle. "the hell d'ya need a babysitter for, anyway?"

The little gremlin frowned at the name of "fernando's new gal" People had been saying that recently since she was never really one for the public eye, nor did she ever really want that attention anyways, she was too focused on learning to better herself with coding. "I'm a silph too! Im not new!" she said pouting at him and stomping her foot at him as her childish tendencies showed for a moment before she caught herself and coughed slightly. "Fernie doesn't want me to bring shame to the silph name or whatever." she said as she looked over to his pokemon who were standing behind him in awe and rushed over to them quickly and petted them. "Wow! A dragonite and a sceptile! What cuties!" she said as she fawned over them both "Sceptile's bulbs are really bulby! They can help tree's grow really fast! Dragonite's also probably a really good boy, you dragonite's help save people who are drowning I read." she said as she slowly realized how she was behaving was exactly what Fernando was talking about before clearing her throat again to calm down. "A-Anyways, fine lets go inside then." she said as she followed behind him towards the desk and they were lead to the V.I.P area for the arena. It was one of those giant boxes that had a glass window in front for the two to be able to watch the battles in private and not have to worry about prying eyes and also food in case they got hungry. She walked up immediately to the glass and watched the battle down below taking place in amazement, so this was tournament style battles? How interesting..

"yeah," he responded with a side groan. he just wanted this to be over already. sceptile and dragonite stared at one another with confusion as the hyperactive blonde examined them. "seriously, kyle could have done this or some random ranger." he understood many had their hands time, but he could have bothered anyone else for this matter.

it was time for then to go in. mateo followed behind yui. once they were inside, he'd come to notice their private abode. "sweet dig," he said aloud. the pokemon down below were currently going at it. mateo quickly ran to watch the seen, wooden clogs reverberating with each excited step. "maybe this was worth it, after all!" a starry-eyed gaze was enough to express his enjoyment.

"i can see why he picked me, you're the best 'nando!" mateo uttered in the midst of shedding joyful tears.

Watching two powerful pokemon battle was always so exciting. Hawk was smaller but it's body showed incredible strength within it while Steelix's massive body proved rather troublesome for the Sawk to handle. The two traded blows making the arena rumble slightly with each strike to each other. As yui watched she saw how enraptured mateo was with the battle as well. She couldn't help but want to get down there too and battle as well, what better opportunity was there than to grow?! she then went on her phone and saw that she had ample wifi service....the gears in her brain began to turn until an idea formulated. She sat down on the couch and began to type like a madwoman on her phone, after a few moments she smiled wickedly, hiding it from mateo's face since he was hopefully still watching the battle very closely. She let out her chatot and began to cuddle with it speaking to it saying wow over and over until chatot began to mimic it perfectly, sounding JUST like her. [break][break]

After a few moments Mateo could still hear Yui saying wow behind her and the battle had thus ended so far and the announcer began to speak "Ladies and gentlemen! We have a special guest who applied to exhibition battle today! One of the Silphs has entered the building!! Yui Fujin Silph!" If Mateo turned around he'd realize Yui gave him the slip, she fed his pokemon some berries that had sleeping powder on it and his sceptile and dragonite were fast asleep and chatot sqwuaking wow in her voice! She waved to the crowd as she then tossed out her pokeball and released her Porygon z and it zipped around erratically and the opposing trainer released their pokemon as well, a charmeleon!

with a laugh, he'd then say, "man that was a battle, i wonder who's next!" it was then heard Yui Fujin Silph. "haha, that person has the same name as..." wait, 'silph'? there were only a handful of those running around hoenn. slowly, mateo would turn around to face a newcomer, "...you."

that was chaot this entire time.

normally, sceptile was the smart one between the pair. but to have fallen for such a trap was expected of dragonite, with sceptile? that was a bit of a shock. "why the hell are you two asleep!?" the chatot would utter 'wow' once more, "shut up!" he growled. leaving the pair behind he'd head downstairs to meet Yui Fujin Silph from the crowd.

once mateo arrived, he'd shout, "yui! the hell are you doin'!?" he shouted over the railing. "i don't care if you're a 'silph', you're a pain in my ass more like it. get out of there!"

Chatot sqwuaked and followed behind mateo, but this time deciding to use another phrase of yui "Stinky! Stinky!" as it flapped behind him. Back with yui however she waved to the crowd wildly as when they heard the name Silph they were extremely excited to see what she was capable of. However one person among the crowd did sound rather upset with her, damn it. Mateo had found out rather quickly what had happen. "Chatty! you were suppose to distract him! What happen?!" she said as chatot flew back over to her and perched himself on her head shouting stinky at Mateo again. Yui instead of responding to mateo's shouts just stuck her tongue out at him "Make me!" she said playfully as she turned around ready to battle the trainer with Porygon as she waited for the announcer to count down for the battle to begin. It was too late for him to do anything now...right?

"fine," pulling out his phone, he'd hit the record button. "if you lose, i'm sendin' this to 'nando. so you better win, pipsqueak!" an evil grin was formed. he didn't exactly care whether she won or lost, but he was interested to see if she had the ability to battle just like her brother.

Yui didnt say anything be remained expressionless, a low "oh." was all that managed to escape her lips. A small sweat drop appeared on her head as he was going to expose her for the gremlin she was to fernando. She couldn't let that happen...but hey, yui wasnt afraid to play dirty as well. Cause she realized, fern probably wouldn't pay him if he found out but she decided to keep that comment to herself as she could totally play this later if she decided to. But regardless the count down ended and the battle had begun, Yui was going to end this in quickly. "Ok porygon tri attack!" as three differently colored flew out towards Charmeleon, the red one landed on it but didnt do much damage to charmeleon initially. The trainer called out for a flame thrower, "Codey! Dodge with agility and then use zap canon!" she said panicking a bit since the charmeleon was faster and managed to land the flame thrower on her porygonz. It still used agility to speed up and then fired the zap cannon. After some time passed Yui and porygonz were backed into a corner but Codey managed to land it's lock on move. "I'm ending this! Porygonz! Use hyper beam!" Porygonz let out a loud cry as a beam of light appeared in front of it and then fired an almost rail gun like beam of energy at the charmeleon. It was a direct hit and the chameleon laid on the floor knocked out from porygonz's attack. Yui cheered as she had managed to win the duel! She didn't even have to resort to her style of battling that used tiles from chess. She turned over to mateo and stuck her tongue out again at him.

"honestly, that battle was pretty embarrassing." she had such a wild style compared to fernando's tactical prowess. "compared to him you're not much of a battler, are you?" recalling their gym battle. he remembered him saying this catchphrase.

"yeah, no way you're related." he had no idea as to whether they were or weren't. it was just a matter of how different their way. "from personality, etiquette, and battle style? he absorbed all the good genes, didn't he?" mateo would let out a light chuckle. surprisingly finding her way more amusing than fernando. "you inherited the fun genes, i can tell."

She stared at mateo, what the hell kinda- BOY IF YOU DONT- she stopped for a moment to calm herself. "They weren't worth my usual battle style. But yes you are right, I'm newer to battling but I know almost everything there is to know about Pokémon." she said as she ran her finger through one of her pig tails and flipped it. She then gave him a strange look, did he not know they weren't all related by blood? She supposed not since it was somewhat apparent by that statement. "I also cant tell if it's a compliment or insult...you aren't the best with words are you?" she said squinting at him closely trying to figure him out. "And no we aren't related by blood." she said as she walked over and opened the latch on the railing right next to Mateo that also served as a door, looking kind of smug at him a bit when she opened it. "Despite the fact I won, you should probbbs delete that video. If fern ever saw it you wouldn't get your money." she said playfully as she walked back over to the box they had.
