Lifting a hand to stifle a yawn, Katherine ventured through the hills of Mauville with her Sableye following in tow. Amethyst appeared to be peckish, however, there were no caves nearby for the pokemon to steal gems from.

It seemed as if she'd have to settle for a different sort of prey.

A newcomer shows to welcome the foreign Sableye and its trainer. Lillipup barks quietly to draw attention to itself, captivating both Katherine and her partner. The gym leader tilts her head to the side in confusion, unsure of what the dog wanted from them - but it seemed to explain itself within a matter of seconds.

It turned and took a couple of steps before revealing a pile of berries that it'd been storing, nudging a berry with its nose towards Sableye as if offering it.

The ghost-type snatched it with a claw immediately, quick to eat what it'd been offered before retrieving a gem to share with the pup.

It earns a couple of excited barks from the Lillipup which prompt Katherine to roll her eyes at the both of them, "Fine, fine. If you two want to be friends so bad, he can come back with us." A capsule is thrown to capture the normal-type before Katherine continues with her patrol.
