When people look at Fini, they see an enthusiastic, slightly dorky college student passionate about pokemon behavior, water types, surfing and cooking. Not necessarily in that order. Fini was born for the water and it is hard not to, when your mother was a marine biologist from Poni Island of Alola and your father is a chef that returned to Pacifidlog, his hometown, after leading a successful career in one of Alola's hottest resort destinations. [break][break]
Everybody knows that Fini could swim before she could walk and she hanged out with pokemon before she could talk. She learned how to surf at the age of 5, befriending a Mantyke in the process and she was out on a boat learning the ropes by the time she was 7. At home, her father would take her with him on the weekends when he shopped at the local market for ingredients for the resort restaurant, teaching her his trade and encouraging her to be creative. Both parents taught her how to be respectful but independent and above all, to appreciate nature and pokemon. [break][break]

What very few people know, is that the energetic and loving Fini is actually a Rookie Grunt of Team Rocket. How would someone so passionate and adamant about caring for pokemon, be a part of such a cruel and illegal organization? The truth is that her parents had taken their beliefs of humans' relationship with nature to the extreme and had formed a small group that committed several vandalism acts against developing projects that would require pokemon relocations and some notorious poachers were even found dead or extremely roughed up because of them.[break][break]

However, they were rookies and not completely cut out for the job, so eventually they were uncovered by the Alolan authorities and Fini's father was actually arrested for arson and physical assault, having to serve a year in prison. That was when Fini was 17 years old and had already been included, but never allowed to participate in the group's actions. With her father obviously fired once his sentence was announced, her mother accepted a position at Slateport's Maritime museum as an external associate and the mother-daughter duo relocated, her father meant to follow suit after he had served his time [break][break]

And so he did, yet things were not calm in Hoenn, and having to go through Slateport Invasion and the attacks from unknown pokemon, pushed the little family to destruction. Fini's mom had been trapped at a collapsed building and was not rescued in time. Her father had grown wary from grief and decided to return to his hometown and spend the rest of his days there, while Fini took on the mantle by starting a degree in biology and more specifically, pokemon behavior. And Fini had taken on the mantle very seriously, wanting to continue her parents' work to restore nature and pokemon as the rightful stewards of the world, where humans would either respect it or perish. Her parents' group had failed because of poor organization and skills, but Team Rocket had managed to almost engulf the world. So Fini found herself deep in the study of whatever information she could find for Team Rocket's operations and that is how she was eventually recruited. [break][break]

She does not agree with Rocket's mindset for the most part and she does her best to make the lives of the pokemon there a bit easier without blowing her loose allegiance to the Team. She is there to learn and to, one day, finish what her parents had started.[break][break]

• Fini was named after Tapu Fini, the guardian deity of her mother's home island
• She doesn't use her pokeballs unless there is no other way for her pokemon to come with her.
• She didn't battle her pokemon to capture them. They touched the pokeballs of their own volition.
• She owns a cruiseboard with a Suicune she painted on it herself and a surfboard with a stylized Alolan Raichu's tail
• She can mimic many pokemon cries pretty accurately.
• She is always wearing a leather charm bracelet with a stylized Tapu Fini figurine, a good luck charm from her mother.
• When she is in her Rocket outfit, she carries around a tactical looking hip pouch for carrying her pokeballs, snacks, potions and whatever else the mission might require.
• She can sketch moving targets quite decently.
• She was taught several things pertaining to sabotage and disruptions from her time hanging around her parents extremist group.
