Lupa stayed close as they ventured through the dark forest at the foot of the mountain. Every once in a blue moon (sometimes literally), Sven lost his way back to whichever ranger tower he was staying at. Sometimes it seemed to him that the topography of the forest changed overnight.[break][break]

In more ways than one, the forest was, indeed, alive. Whatever trickery plagued him tonight, however, didn't feel very natural at all. With a little bit of Lupa's SUPER LUCK, he hoped they would make it back to the tower before the night reached its darkest hour.[break]

Taunting from the shadowy depths of the forest, just beyond the edge of their vision. Thrown stones and snapped branches. Prehistoric scare tactics and, eventually, seemingly distant laughter to accompany it. Neither Sven nor Lupa fell for it, however.[break][break]

And, when the mischievous Impidimp finally dared to draw close, it would pay for its foolish action almost immediately. Rather than pluck a hair off the Absol's backside (FOUL PLAY), it was DETECTED and cut down with a RAZOR WIND. Afterwards, Sven would rush in with an empty ball and capture it.[break][break]

Despite its mischievousness, it would make a great asset to his team, he thought.[break]
