SETTING: SOUTHERN HOENN, ISLAND DISCOVERED BY ANGELO VESTRI

EXPOSITION

ON A COLD DECEMBER MORNING recent news have been reported of a particular island discovered by angelo vestri with the backing of an affluent pair of collectors, with further discoveries by the acclaimed explorer and the granddaughter of these collectors—a deep cavern complex filled to the brim with rare gems and minerals.[break][break]

The report makes mention that these stone collectors are currently hiring anyone confident enough to come explore the caverns, wishing to collect any particularly unique rare stones that may be found within the vast underground, and that they're free to take any extras they may find in addition to a handsome reward. Overseeing all this will be their aforementioned granddaughter, who seems more interested in exploring the underground caverns with them!

EXPLANATION

EXCAVATOR'S EXPEDITION (ExEx) is a numbers game! If you've ever played a Gacha Game where each pull you make brings you a step closer to victory, think of this like that! ExEx runs in the style of a miniature raid event.[break][break]

You make your post and with it a roll, and there'll be a mod post detailing what happens within the coming days! The ExEx's central themes are focused around Celebrations and New Beginnings![break][break]

ExEx is balanced to roughly 10 people as of current, though if a staggering number of additional players join, it'll be rebalanced.[break][break]

You can only participate with one character! Sign-ups will require you to pick a character and one Pokémon of theirs, the only major things that matter are as follows:[break][break]

• if they're a starter
• their ability
• their type or if their line evolves via an evolutionary stone
• whether they can mega evolve, have a z-move or are a legendary

While this is a semi-raid style event, note that SALAC BERRIES ARE NOT PERMITTED, and if you would gain any of the benefits from an OCCA BERRY or MEGA EVOLVING they only gain ONE BONUS from their ability if both abilities fit the event conditions![break][break]

The goal of the Excavator's Expedition is to unearth hidden treasures, though it seems that only fragments of the most important treasures remain! You'll need to work together to find every piece of each rare item![break][break]

Each roll will help decide what happens in a mod post, providing micro events during it! Just keep in mind, you won't die in this event so don't be too scared of a low roll! Additionally the roll total of each round will determine some extra rewards![break][break]

While revealing what every Ability does would spoil the fun, I'll provide a list of every Ability that will have an effect in the event![break][break]

Anticipation, Arena Trap, Damp, Forewarn, Huge Power, Illuminate, Intimidate, Iron Fist, Keen Eye, Magnet Pull, Mega Launcher, Mold Breaker, Pickup, Power Spot, Pure Power, Rivalry, Rock Head, Sheer Force, Skill Link, Speed Boost, Stamina, Steam Engine, Steelworker, Steely Spirit, Strong Jaw, Super Luck, Technician, Tough Claws

Though as a totally subtle hint, (because I'm bad at keeping my mouth shut!) I'll say ONE OF THESE ABILITIES DOES SOMETHING PARTICULARLY BENEFICIAL to the team of explorers! but I won't say which one! If you figure out which one it is, please refrain from letting others know! Teehee! Not that I'll know if you do!

DISCOVERY MECHANIC

With each mod post depending on the number of players who've participated, you'll make a DISCOVERY! Each discovery yields an item from the DISCOVERY POOL and removes that item from the pool as part of what you've discovered during the event.[break][break]

So if you were to discover OBJECT X and there are a total of 10 of OBJECT X in the pool initially, and 20 totaling in the pool, the rest of the pool would remain with 19 total to pull from and 9 of OBJECT X remaining in said pool![break][break]

You'll additionally find PECULIAR SPHERES in large quantities during the Event! At any point in time during the Event you may trade in 10 Peculiar Spheres back into the Discovery Pool to receive a random Discovery that is not a Peculiar Sphere![break][break]

Ultimately this is a silly event that you're meant to win if you get lucky enough or put in enough effort for fun! Just a chance to get together and participate in a bit of cave delving shenanigans and celebrate the New Years! So here's to having some fun?!

RULES & SUMMARY TL;DR

• ONE CHARACTER per player.
• You'll be ROLLING ONCE PER ROUND.
• You are free to post additional times for fluff. You CAN NOT USE SALAC BERRIES during the event!
• A TL;DR is necessary at the end of each post.
• Your main objective is to DISCOVER TREASURES and find MATCHING SETS.
• You can TRADE IN 10 PECULIAR SPHERES during the event to obtain a random discovery that isn't a Peculiar Sphere by declaring it in your TL;DR! Just keep in mind the spheres you trade in become part of the DISCOVERY POOL again![break]
  NOTE: PECULIAR SPHERES do not need to be collected to succeed at the event!

• Disclaimer: images used in the event will not be 1:1 with their in-game counterparts (e.g. soul dew sprite =/= actual soul dew).
