Being on the far western side of Hoenn for the longest time, Luna had no idea about how much of Hoenn was really ocean. Being in Rustboro all her life, Luna never knew. But upon seeing the beautiful ocean blue herself, her eyes lit up like stars to what was beyond the horizon. When she got back to Petalburg, she would have so many stories for Mr. Marsh!
She'd probably omit the seasickness she had on the ship over, and how long she spent hunched over the railings though.
Luna had found a small job to help migrating Corsola. Maybe her seasick brain made her a little crazy, but she was too excited not to take it!
When Luna made it to the beach, she took a minute to feel the sand between her open toes, enjoying the feeling overall. It was nice and relaxing, feeling that magical feeling, and the salty sea breeze reminded her of Petalburg. But ten times better!
Marching on, Bear popped his tiny snout out of her drawstring bag. A sleepy squeak came from the fire mouse, Luna turning to look over her shoulder with a happy toothy grin.
"Finally awake, Bear?" The Cyndaquil murred on. If it was a boat they were going on, he'd probably fall back asleep. Applejack and Boo were given some time to relax in their Pokeballs, as did J.J., her newest Togepi companion. Bear would just sleepily snore in Luna's bag bag. The comfiest place for a Cyndaquil to be.
He liked that openness.
On her stroll of the beach, Luna froze. A small, baby Lapras, quietly crying with her head in the sand, and Wingulls picking at her from above. Without even a thought, Luna raced to her side, shooing away the Wingulls with her hands, the weakened little Lapras looking up at her with a beautiful shine to her eyes, enrapturing Luna immediately.
Onto her knees, Luna held the Lapras' head up just a little.
"Hey. What's wrong?" The Lapras responded with a weak cry, and Luna realized it was attempting to communicate.
Luna attempted to piece it together as best as she could, not fully comprehending the Pokemon.
"Did you get lost?" Weak nod.
"Are you okay?" Head shake.
"Did you get separated from your family?" Cascading tears, and a weaker nod. Luna looked around quickly, afraid for the moment Luna left that the Lapras would be harrassed again by the Wingulls. She wouldn't stand for that. But what was she to do, leaving without-
Idea, like a lightbulb above her head exploding.
"We'll find them together! Come with me for now!" she gave a grin, wiping the small Lapras' tears. Luna would keep her safe! The bigger blue Pokemon looked up with hope. With her giving a nod, and a slightly happier cry, Luna nodded. Giving her signature toothy grin, she softly bumped a Pokeball onto her head, and looked at the ball.
"Promise. We'll find them."~ ~ ~
When she spotted Eva's boat, Luna ran through the sand towards her, waving as she did.
"Sorry! Found a new friend, and I couldn't leave her behind!" she wasn't too late, at least. She hoped the others would understand, Luna couldn't just abandon someone in need like that. Seeing Eva up close, Luna introduced herself finally.
"My name's Luna Flowers, the next champion! Probably!" One fist curled forward, and a wink as she stuck her tongue out. She knew how improbable that might sound, but still.
Girl had a dream.
