In a hoodie and shorts Sénon could feel the chill of winter crawling up his legs.

It wasn't exactly cold as snow but it was certainly colder than it had been last week.

Wartortle seemed to be freezing over as well as she looked to him with water eyes; her body in a fierce shiver.

Picking her up by the shell he tucked her between his two inner shirts and the hoodie, the shell jutting out front of him to make him look like pregnant man.

For now he left her where she was warm, keeping her out of her pokéball just in case a Magcargo or some such species wandered by.

With a gulpin dragging itself by, Sénon watched it as he walked. He'd given Cait a grimer for the purpose of becoming the cabin's garbage disposal but the truth of it was a Gulpin was far better suited to that task with a more developed digestion track and next to no smell.

His knuckles itched as he fought off the impulse to capture it. This was the season for the dominance of fire-types. The burners of the pokémon world were at their strongest right now and he had to take advantage of that while he still could.

Coming around the bend he found a battle-worn Magmar seemingly roaring in victory over the defeat of another pokémon that seemed to have fled the area.

It attention turned to the human at the sound of a clattering 'thud' coming from behind it.

The thud being the sound of Wartortle's shell hitting the ground. Peeking her head out to find an opponent she came to stand facing down the larger fire type with a serious face and serious want to get out of the cold weather.

Knowing the cold wasn't good for her Sénon decided to take the Magmar and call it night; Wartortle was happy to oblige. "Go. Do your best."

Wartortle used Aqua Tail; its Super Effective!
Magmar used Fire Blast; its not very effective...

The struggle was over just as soon as it started, and quite one-sided. Lacking any powerful water-type moves, Aqua Tail twice over was enough to wipe out the tired Magmar who only seemed to only have fire attacks at its disposal.

With a second Magmar in the collective, the ranger was free to work on of the two into evolution to a Magmortar. Taking this one by Premier Ball he wondered which of the two would be given the honor and trial.

Crimsen attempted to capture Magmar!
