Now the Disclops showed up, only to make things worse. Lex was reminded, yet again, why she worked alone. She could feel the vent shudder beneath them under the weight of the GRAVITY. Her breaths came in shudders as she shook her head. It wasn’t hard to assume what was about to happen now.

The vent caved under the pressure. The deep groans shifted to a sharp crash as the metal gave way. Lex frantically grabbed for whatever she could hang on to. She was only et with slippery metal and the sharp edges of the broken vent. Her right palm burned as the edge of a broken fragment cut through it before she fell, landing beside the Genesect as it quickly stirred to flee. She could feel the hard metal casing of the creature. Lex immediately pulled away, rolling to the side.

“No, no, no, no, no,” she begged when she realized the pokemon was burrowing through the floor. Having literally no idea what the schematics of a submarine looked like, she half expected water to come gushing through the hole.

Instead, the Genesect weaseled its way into another set of vents and disappeared. It left Lex peering down into darkness.

Fuck, there was no way out. The vents she fell from were pinched off by weight of the Gravity. She pounded against the side of the sub, leaving bloody handprints on the wall that she knew Valerio Dachev and Remiel Calcifet were standing behind, “Help,” the word choked out of her throat as she fought back tears. This all had to be a nightmare. That was the only explanation.

The sharp pain in her palm and the shortness of breath told her otherwise.

Reality settled in and there was only one way to go: down.

The pit in her stomach tightened. A survival instinct kicked in. She’d make it fast.

Lex slipped into the second set of vents the Genesect unveiled. Carefully, quietly, and with vigor she crawled her way in the opposite direction, praying to every deity she could think of to see her through this mess.
