It seemed with the temperatures of Hoenn returning to their more tropic norms the time of trial for fire-types was at an end.

With the climate returning to its warmer state the pokémon of the fiery path wouldn't have to struggle to maintain their own flames and fight off their foes. The natural heat of Hoenn made it so they didn't have to work as hard and due to fire type needing to be challenged to be at their best, it meant the "fire season" as it were, was at an end.

Still, his weekly trek would would happen whether the pokémon here were on their A-game or not.

When the Amoonguss hopped past he didn't think to disturb it.

There were many species that called the Fiery Path home and with his task to complete his living Kantonian Pokédex and also capture every fire-type pokémon in the non-embargoed world, this Amoonguss wouldn't help either ambition.

He already had a little Foongus to help him out during excursions to the safari zone so this bigger evolution of it wasn't much of a prize.

He let it go off on its way and he did the same.

It was a lucky break that the next pokémon he ran into was one he knew full well how to quell.

With a flicking toss of one of his pokéballs the wandering Chimchar that looked to be female would find an instant playmate in his own.

Unlike with human women Chimchar playing shy and aloof around the young female only seemed to draw her in more. Within moments he was scrabling around to keep away from her.

She chased him around without relent until he mounted his master's shoulder.

The little lady chim gave pause until her frustrations got the better of her and she scaled the Ranger's body to get to her Shiny new target of affection.

When her back was properly turned the redhead hit her with a Safari Ball. Chimchar seemed happy he wasn't being chased anymore but apprehensive that he'd be getting chased a lot more in the future.

Crimsen attempted to befriend Chimchar!
