Skyler hadn't woken up that day thinking she'd have to kick some pirate ass, but here she was.

She'd first spotted them while doing a slow sweep around Shoal Cave, meaning to go check on her icy carrots but becoming alarmed at the sight of scruffy-looking individuals keeping guard over the entrance to the icy cave. Then she'd been spotted herself, and had been forced to dodge a few (thankfully) poorly aimed attacks. If they'd sunken another of her boats (like the previous summer), she would have had to kill them.

A curse slipped past her lips when a meaty arm connected with her torso, her brief moment of distraction nearly costing the captain her balance. 

The pirate's eyes nearly bulged out when Skyler grabbed onto his shirt and flipped him over her shoulder, the impact emptying the thug's lungs of all breath. It was quickly followed by a firm press of a booted foot on his chest. "Stay." She wore her grin like a banner of war, sharp edges promising retribution. 

Her morning workouts were finally showing some results.

Captain Dross was about to approach the cave when a cry snagged her attention. Silver eyes settled on a well-known masked figure, recognition bolting through her at the sight and bringing a fierce grin to her lips.

Pokkenger?

"Hey!" Her voice rose above the ruckus of battle as she approached, flanked by Clarabelle and Hook. A swift uppercut took care of an approaching pirate, who was then knocked unconscious by a MEGA KICK from the scarred Lopunny. "Pokkenger, right?" Trouble gleamed from her eyes as she grinned. "Bet I can kick more ass than you."

Hook drifted away from his trainer, delivering a HAMMER ARM to a nearby Mightyena who had been trying to sneak up on them.

She thought she heard her name being spoken from somewhere nearby, but when the closest pirates were knocked unconscious by a severe kick of Clarabelle's leg, she saw no one she recognized. It wasn't entirely out of the realm of possibility that some of these so-called pirates might recognize her. She'd found her fair share of rival treasure hunters while on her job...

She'd kick their ass with even more gusto, to be perfectly honest. Get them out of the way. Assert dominance or some bullshit like that.

Honestly? Skyler was just itching for a fight - and some friendly competition. Which made the thumbs up sent her way by a certain Pokkenger all the better. A wild grin immediately curled her mouth in response and she pivoted on the balls of her feet to greet an approaching pirate with a swift uppercut to the jaw. "Better keep up then! I think you're falling behind, man!" 

The entrance to the cave loomed before her, and while she hesitated and looked around - searching for stragglers - her Lopunny didn't as much as stop, dashing past her and into the darkness. A glint in the leather cord around Skyler's neck almost went unnoticed. Except that when a pirate flew out of the cave, screaming their heads off as they sailed right over Skyler, the captain wasn't surprised to see the shape of a Mega Lopunny dusting off her paws and looking extremely smug.

"Leave some for the rest of us, Clarabelle, will ya?" Yet the captain was grinning as she stepped into the cave. Hook followed after her, Thunder Punching a Poliwhirl out of the way. 

Unfortunately, the captain didn't expect the freakin' crowd that was waiting for her in the next chamber.

"Fffffffu-!"

The sound of explosions drowned out the rest of her curse.

Kazimir's voice was drowned out by the sheer chaotic destruction that followed his warning. The charging Hyper Beams found Skyler like a Stantler before the headlights, reflexes falling victim to surprise and shock. The captain was barely aware of having moved before something slammed into her, tackling her to the ground just before a beam of white light pierced through the air overhead.

Where she'd been previously.

The impact was enough to knock Skyler out of the haze she'd been in, along with all the breath in her lungs. Her hands gripped onto Pokkenger's arms of their own vollition, wide silver eyes looking up as she processed what had just happened. Him shaking her didn't help any. "Fuck... Ow... Pok-"

It was then that she registered the shattering visor and the familiar blue eyes that peeked at her from behind. A blink. Two blinks. Her mouth opened to take a sharp intake of breath. 

"... Kaz?" Surprise was soon replaced by a jolt of worry as she took in the blackened appearance of his helmet. She didn't give herself time to examine this newfound knowledge (Kaz was Pokkenger...?!), not before she was patting him up and down, making sure he wasn't hurt anywhere else.

Huh. Maybe she should get one of those nifty suits herself.

"I have my head attached. Thanks to you, Kaz." Her voice was low and soft, far more serious than what was usual for her. She didn't want to think of what could've happened if he hadn't...

Anyway.

A wry smile soon curled her lips, her earlier musings buried deep within her mind. "The suit looks good on you, by the way." Mischief flashed in her eyes. "I might have to commission one for myself." 

The pirates, clearly not having expected the two of them to resist the Hyper Beams, were starting to back up. Clarabelle, still in her Mega form, patted the Falinks as thanks before flexing her arms and taking a threatening step in the pirates' direction. 

Captain Dross stood up and offered a hand to Kaz, grin in place. "C'mon, Pokkenger. Still got some pirate butt to kick. And I can't do it alone."

Captain Dross Lapras did not miss her cue, and as Kazimir Pokkenger struck a pose, the blonde did her best to follow his lead. Spotting a nearby rock, the captain set her booted foot on it, adjusting an imaginary hat while flipping her blond curls back, flexing her arm muscles while at it. Flexing her abs too for the heck of it, despite them being unfortunately hidden beneath her clothes at the moment.

She made a note to show those to Kazimir Wynter later...

A daring grin stretched her lips as she set her bright silver eyes on the remaining pirates, the very picture of lackadaisical confidence. "And you call yourselves pirates!? Hah! You landlubbers are no match for...err... Pokkenger and Captain Lapras, Conquistador of the Seas!" Skyler had absolutely no idea what she was doing, but she would never let that stop her. There were a few confused expressions among the group of actual pirates, which only served to widen Skyler's grin.

A small flick of her wrist was enough for Clarabelle to jump into the fray, just as Kaz's Falinks started to sow chaos among the group, headbutting their way through the pirates and their pokemon. Skyler followed soon after, using the rock she'd had her foot on to propel herself forward with a jump. Ahead, her Mega Lopunny was making short work of the pirates' pokemon, kicking them into Hook's knockout punches. 

Teeth flashed in a wild smile as the captain joined in on the action, her fist meeting a pirate's jaw with a satisfying crack. A flying helmet caught her attention just enough that she saw it hit a Liepard that had been about to attack her - and silver eyes flashed to the face of her friend Kaz, followed by a wide grin and a thumbs up.

Confident that he'd be able to handle the kitty cat, Captain Lapras turned to face a tree trunk sized arm coming at her face. Quick reflexes had her dodging it just in time, though she didn't miss the hulking mountain of a man it was attached to. Ugly face. Rotten teeth.

Ugh, bad breath too.

When he came at her again with his fists, Skyler didn't hesitate. Moving under a punch that only missed her by an inch, the blonde pivoted in place and sent her leg flying up in a merciless kick.

Right into the man's private parts.

"Oh, is that where a man's pride is?" The response was immediate, punctuated by a flash of teeth that held no small amount of mischief. "Pretty fragile place to keep it." Grin widening, Captain Dross Lapras watched as Kazimir kicked the man unconscious to put him out of his misery. "Not gonna lie, I've ended a couple of fights with that finishing move." Shrugging, she continued. "Hey, it works." More than a couple, and all in underground fighting pits where fighting dirty was pretty much the only way to earn a few victories under your belt.

"But if we ever spar, I promise to behave." After all, she didn't want to injure her friend, no matter the amusement that trickled into her voice as she spoke. Her hand reached out to mock punch his arm. "You can keep your pride intact."

Her eyes followed Kazimir's blue gaze, satisfaction reflected in her expression as the last of the pirates scrambled to get away from Clarabelle's threatening expression (who could've thought a Lopunny could look so intimidating? Given, Clarabelle did have an eyepatch and lots of scars) and right into Hook's not so loving embrace. The local authorities could probably deal with the last few stragglers... 

Kaz's comment about her physical fitness did bring an undoubtedly bright grin to her lips. And - was that a rosy tint on Captain Dross' cheeks? 

"I've been training every morning. Turns out sparring with fighting types really does help you get these babies." And with that, Skyler lifted her shirt to unashamedly showcase her abs. This time she did flex them, looking stupidly proud of the defined lines that disappeared under the edge of her pants. "Not too shabby, huh... Pokkenger?"

For a moment there Skyler wondered if Kazimir was about to remove his pants - or his whole suit, she wasn't quite sure how that worked - just to show her his pair. Her eyebrows quirked up dramatically, amusement gleaming brightly from quicksilver eyes as the sleeve of his high-tech suit slipped off, revealing a muscled arm. His biceps bulged out when he flexed it and Skyler immediately whistled in appreciation, calloused fingers latching onto Kaz's arm to give it a squeeze. Or two. Maybe three.

"Damn, Kaz. You've been hitting the gym too. You could crush a man with these." She couldn't keep the admiration from her voice.

There was no way she'd be able to get biceps like these. Not enough mass. Ah, well.

What escaped her mouth when Kaz suddenly wrapped the very same arm around her in a hug was not a squeak - because Captain Dross did not squeak. Her arm, however, unabashedly went around the blond's shoulders to steady herself.

Loud, unrestrained laughter mixed with his own as she affectionately mock punched his pecs in response. "Come join me in my morning workout sessions. I think Clarabelle would love to spar with you. Me too - if you think you can handle it, that is." There was no disguising the eagerness in Skyler's voice. Clarabelle, already back to her original shape, didn't seem to be paying them any attention, though a twitch in her ear betrayed her. 

"And don't worry." The roguish smile twisting her lips widened at the subtle threat in his voice. Growing slightly more feral. "I won't tell anyone about Pokkenger as long as you keep quiet about a Captain Lapras." Not that she'd been in disguise... but it was the principle behind the whole thing. 

The boat was moored behind some rock outcroppings, hidden from view. Skyler tilted her head, a silent gesture for Kazimir to follow her. "C'mon on then, Pokkenger. Your escape vehicle is ready. How'd you get here anyway? That suit doesn't look like it's made for swimming..."

Kazimir would recognize the speedboat right away. Thankfully it was suitably hidden from view if anyone were to approach from the sea. With the ease of someone who'd done that a thousand times before, Skyler efficiently maneuvered the boat around sharp rocks and made her way out into the sea.
