Cat had trot quickly into the wondrous caverns known as the Meteor Falls, the smooth nearly luminescent damp stone of the cavern glistening with lights—the young girl wasn't quite sure if the light came from the sunlight outside or some mysterious source within but she knew for certain that the place was beautiful beyond imagination, and certainly beyond the photos she'd seen could ever portray.[break][break]

Of course she wasn't here to sightsee... entirely, she'd promised to meet up with Lilith at the caverns, often times travelling and splitting up with the silent girl since they first met as travelling partners of sorts, though this time around she was a bit late, evident from her erratic and somewhat panicked pace—which while not particularly faster than her usual energetic pace, her panic was certainly tell tale with how bumpy the ride was for Björn, the poor Meowth who'd normally leisurely ride around like a small child on a parent's shoulders was gripping on for what seemed like dear life, the only possible comfort being the hushed sorries that Catalina had been whispering over to the Meowth.[break][break]

Though it had come to Catalina's realisation shortly after she'd rushed into the Meteor Falls that she couldn't quite spot her quiet snow-haired companion, a puzzling conundrum though nonetheless, the pinkette waited patiently for her friend to show up. Not quite realising that her own definition of 'late' was quite a bit earlier than most people would expect.

[attr="class","hanatext"]Even after all her years of travelling, the world never ceases to amaze her, blessing her with sights that she wishes could last forever. Meteor Falls is yet another destination that steals her attention, its quiet luminescence reminding her of the many starry skies she's seen along her journey. This time, she's able to reach out to that vast, swirling expanse; the chill of that beautiful madness lingering upon her fingertips as she brushes the surface of the stone.

"Wanna come here again sometime?" Her gaze flutters over to the Zorua skipping up ahead, a small bark answering her question as she picks up her pace. No matter how long it's been since she's stepped foot in that household, she never forgets her manners when it comes to meeting people at the very least - Always a little earlier than the appointed time, Arceus forbid she arrives later.

She's quick to spy a familiar face amidst the foreign environment, following in Eclipse's track as he rushes and slams right into the girl's ankles. "Hey Cat…" Awkward as her greeting may be, she hopes it tides over with a ginger wave of her arm, a small whistle calling the trickster back to her side. "You came earlier than I expected."

As if right on cue, Catalina had shortly jumped in surprise as her aforementioned friend had popped in—and the sudden head-to-ankle blow from a particularly familiar Zorua. "Oh, Lilith! You're here!" she said with a smile, her surprise dissolving in the warmth of emotion, "I thought I was late, to be honest," she added on with a grin, crouching down with open arms to pick Eclipse up—or at least give him a pat on the head, Björn had waved to Lilith and taken the opportunity to hop off of Cat's shoulders.[break][break]

After the brief meeting—and after she was done greeting and playing with her friend’s Zorua—Cat had dusted herself off before pointing deeper into the cave, hurried and excited, “Let’s go, Lilith, I can’t even imagine what sort of Pokémon we could find here! … Aside from maybe Zubats.” Catalina had postulated, then giggled at her own statement, nonetheless waltzing further into the luminous cave of Meteor Falls. The pink-haired girl pranced through deeper into the cave, starry-eyed as every minor moment had captivated her—pools of luminous water, waterfalls, the shimmering mysterious light, Catalina had done a good number of twirls just trying to take in the scene, and nearly tripped or ran into a stalagmite or a small stream on occasion, her Meowth rushing in to pull her away each time just before it was too late.[break][break]

Let alone the view, Pokémon far off in the outer reaches of the caverns of all kinds had caught Catalina’s attention—too far away for her to be able to check her Pokédex to figure out what they were, though two had slowly seemed to gain an interest towards the two girls, a fish pokémon surfacing from one of the pools of water, and a small bipedal pokémon with a rather tough looking head shuffling out from the dark.[break][break]

“Lilith! Lilith! Look!” Cat had turned back to her friend, hopping on the spot and pointing to both the pokémon frantically like an excited child, she couldn’t quite choose which of the two she wanted to catch.

[attr="class","hanatext"]There's something reassuring about the way that @cat takes control of the conversation so easily, leaving her with much lesser work on her part as she watches the girl pick Eclipse up. The Zorua barks, eagerly nuzzling her cheek before wrestling his way out of her grasp to greet Björn with an affectionate tackle. Snorting lightly at the playful fox, Lilith carefully taps Eclipse's head, reminding him to watch his manners around others - Even if Rubia isn't around to watch his antics, she can be just as strict.

"Careful..." A friendly warning is lost upon a chilly breeze, a small wince crossing her lips for every little trip or crash that Catalina has. Thankfully, Björn is always ready to catch her as she falls - Less scrapes means less time spent worrying and more time surveying the area. For a moment, she's reminded of a child, brimming with curiosity for the unexplored and seeming to lack any fear for the unknown. And she can't help but wonder when was the last time she had possessed such qualities...

The voice that calls from up ahead pulls her from the depths of a swirling mind, her attention training in on the said pokemon as Eclipse scampers up to the water's edge. He dips his paw in with untamed excitement, hoping to flick the Relicanth out of the waters, only to be hit in the face with a Water Gun.

"Wait, Eclipse d-"

But the Zorua does not heed her words, growling softly as he recovers from the attack with a vigorous shake. Then he barks, slamming his paws into the ground and releasing a dark shock wave towards the Relicanth. Though Lilith sighs, she can't quite undo what has been done, tossing a pokeball at the shaken piscine before scooping Eclipse into her arms.

"You should expect retaliation if you try to bother people. You can't just go picking fights because they started it first."

As Lilith went to take care of Eclipse & the Relicanth the Zorua had inadvertently spooked, Cat crouched down to further inspect the other wild pokémon that had come their way, Björn standing in between the two in case something were to happen. Nonetheless, Catalina observed the pokémon carefully, trying to take a gander at what it was, she'd never seen a Bagon before—or at least, if she had, it'd have been only for the briefest of moments. As the blue dragon pokémon drew closer, Cat had pat Björn on the head and mouthed some sort of reassurance, the Meowth grumbling a little and moving aside as the pink-haired trainer rummaged through her bag for a couple items of interest.[break][break]

After a brief rifling she'd quickly found what she wanted, she'd made her intent clear to the wild pokémon without a word, trying her best to be gentle and polite given that it was still overall curious, picking out a poké ball and some pokémon kibble & berries, ball in one hand and food to be offered in the other. It took a moment before the Bagon moved, cautious to some degree, Cat held out the food for the wild pokémon as it drew even closer and took a wary bite.[break][break]

"It's okay~ if you're just hungry you can have your fill~" she said in a hushed yet sing-song tone, bringing the poké ball closer to the Bagon slowly but clearly to show her intent, yet the Bagon didn't flinch, focused on the food until there was none. In fact, it had began gnawing softly on her hand for more, and Cat had taken that as a sign that the dragon had taken enough of a liking, pressing the ball against the hard carapace of its head. The moment the Bagon had dissipated into a glimmer of red light, Cat had held still, not even a breath escaping from her until she could confirm the results of her attempt.

[attr="class","hanatext"]Sometimes, the way to a pokemon's heart is through its stomach. As creatures of pure instinct, they are drawn to sources of sustenance and tend to gravitate around those which can provide a constant flow. In a sense, there has been theories posed that wild pokemon only join trainers on their journey since they are guaranteed food, shelter and warmth for a decent amount of time.

But she does hope it isn't true for Cat or the Bagon she's just befriended.

"Are you gonna name him...?" It's a question that thoroughly piques her interest and one that she subconsciously poses to the trainers she meets. A name indicates a bond between pokemon and human, a personal connection and attachment to the pokemon that will most likely inflict pain if ever severed.

Spying movement up ahead, Lilith scratches Eclipse behind the ears and reaches into her pouch, pulling out a pecha berry and slipping him one to pacify the antsy trickster. Then she takes out another, offering it up to the Wobbuffet before them as she nudges Cat to alert her of the other pokemon's presence.

Cat paused for a moment after picking up the pokéball with the first pokémon she'd ever succeeded in capturing for herself, her personal excitement abated when Lilith had posed a question—something Cat had blanked on—stirring some sort of panic in the pinkette, she'd need to think of something quickly![break][break]

"Gunnr, maybe? That sounds like a fun name!" She'd decided on it with a beaming smile, her panic subdued by her energetic enthusiasm, Björn making its way from her shoulder and shimmying his way up her arm for a closer look at the poké ball. She'd put the ball in her other hand and cradled the Meowth in her now free arm to allow an easy spot to sit while presenting the ball that seemed to have attracted his curiosity, trusting the Meowth as he took the ball in his hands and inspected and played with it. At Lilith's urging, she'd spotted the Wobuffet that Lilith seemed to have eyes on, and shortly after the massive Blastoise that had stepped up from the water.[break][break]

"... that's a big fellow, huh?" Cat had mused herself, it was most certainly taller than her from what she could tell. She'd wondered if the same trick would work on such a big pokémon. As she looked into her bag, Björn had handed up the ball containing the newly caught Bagon, Catalina taking it with a smile and placing it somewhere safe while she perused her bag for some more pokémon food, she'd just gotten some from Fallarbor so she was certain she'd stocked up plenty, the only question really was if it was enough or to the Blastoise's liking. She'd kept an eye out for the Blastoise to see if it'd take any aggressive actions, but it had seemed it was mostly just as curious of her as she was of it—and presumably had seen her feeding the Bagon.[break][break]

Nonetheless, she'd eventually gotten a substantial amount of pokémon food out of her bag—enough at least that she felt it should tide over the Blastoise given its size and spread out what she could. A variety mix of kibbles, oran berries & pecha berries, she'd watched the Blastoise carefully to see how it'd take, taking a step back as it stepped forward to eat. At worst she was happy to just feed one and be up close to it. Nonetheless, she'd waited for a moment, stepping forward to try and press the ball against the turtle pokémon. Regardless of what happened, Cat made a mental note that she'd need to head back to Fallarbor to buy more pokémon food after this.

[attr="class","hanatext"]Taking a seat right next to her new psychic buddy, Lilith can't help but kick back with a sigh, barely resisting even as Eclipse leaps right into her lap and makes himself comfortable. She pats the spot right beside her, a wordless invite extended to Cat as she lazily rubs the Zorua's belly.

"Looks like you've made a new friend..." Her eyes flicker to the approaching duo of Turtonator and Claydol, "And might just make another..."

Before she even realises it, the feeding site has suddenly expanded to include two more curious creatures. Reaching into her pouch, Lilith pulls out the whole stash of berries she's been hording, a light sigh leaving her lips as she opens it up.

"Guess we might as well use these ones up... You need to restock on food too, right Cat?" Offering some to Cat, Lilith slips the tricky fox a few more of his own before sliding the rest to the Turtonator. "Do you... maybe... wanna go together...?" Her words seem to slow when she truly thinks about what she's said, her cheeks blooming pink as she hurriedly coughs and looks away, allowing her gaze to drift to the starry cavern roofs.

"Also... if you want... just so it's fair, or something... you can call me Lillie or Lil... or whatever nickname... I don't know..."

Cat nodded enthusiastically in response, Björn unfortunately still cradled in her arm and bouncing erratically like an overused ragdoll. It hadn't taken long for her attention to be drawn immediately to the two new approaching wild pokémon, chuckling somewhat nervously, Cat had wondered if they had enough food for every pokémon that'd be drawn in by this. Perhaps they'd miscalculated ever so slightly with this plan.[break][break]

"Maybe it's starting to get a little crowded..." Cat responded, flashing a smile back at Lilith. Watching her snow-haired friend take interest in the Turtonator, Catalina directed her attention to the Claydol, "... now how do you eat?" Cat wondered aloud, she'd wondered if the Claydol even can eat, the psychic pokémon simply floating and inspecting the two girls... or at least she thought it did? She couldn't tell with how many eyes it had. Nonetheless it seemed it wasn't interested in the food, Cat had approached the Claydol instead, wondering if it just wanted to spend some time together. She'd held her hand out and eventually touched against it, patting it happily. The Claydol was surprisingly warm, as expected it felt like some sort of pottery, but it was rather warm nonetheless. The Claydol itself seemed to have enjoyed the physical contact, beeping about as Cat gave the pokémon pats and scritches.[break][break]

"Hm? Oh, yeah, I've still got some left but, not enough that I'd be comfortable with to feed everyone like I'd need to." Cat mused in response, though with Lilith's sudden shyness, Cat had blinked a couple times curiously, seemingly somewhat oblivious to why she'd been embarrassed, "Yeah, sure~ oooooh, maybe we could buy something yummy for the next time we go camping!" she'd said cheerily, bouncing with a smile.[break][break]

When the Claydol seemed content enough, Cat had pressed another poké ball against the psychic pokémon with bated excitement.[break][break]

"Hmmm... how about... Lil Snö? Since your hair's white like the snow in Wyndon... or a Snom...? I guess whatever comes to mind works~!"
