Not only has he knocked the socks right off her, he's stolen her words off her tongue. And yet, he smiles as if he's done nothing wrong, a mischievous little puppy that she can't get mad at. A blink, and she's refocused. Ready for whatever comes next.

"Yeah, well... let's just work on getting you moving without falling first." A small step back, a light push off her front foot, and she begins to slide back rather slowly with Toshiaki in tow. "Small steps. Both feet on the ground when you just want to slide forwards."

[attr="class","hanatext"]Whether it's his reassurance or simply her failure to react, Lilith doesn't quite freak out. More so blink in surprise before promptly reaching out to help stabilise him as he stands back up.

"That was... impressive." Is the first word that comes to mind. "I've never seen anyone do that before."

Not that she'd ever had much of a chance to partake in such leisurely activities.

Still, she watches him close this time, ready to catch him should he somehow make that same mistake.

[attr="class","hanatext"]"That doesn't make it hurt any less." A quiet frown takes the centerpiece of a typically unreadable expression. After all, this is ice, not freshly fallen snow that they're talking about.

Worries dampen the atmosphere. She's read this in a book once. And as he continues to smile and chase them away, she can feel a sliver of guilt eating at her.

"Let's... teach you how to stop first, in case you start sliding off, yeah?" Taking a step back, she creates just enough space to provide an example. "Bend down slightly... and turn your toes inwards... like a v."

Nice isn't the first word that might come to mind, but she supposes that it sounds much better of a descriptor than whatever she had in mind. As her attention flits from the rowdy Zorua to the much calmer Toshiaki, she traces the light tints of pink upon his cheeks. And how his laughter chimes in this crisp winter air, the brilliance of the sun oh so daringly stolen and placed within those eyes.

[attr="class","hanatext"]Despite the people bustling all about the route, there are often spots that go overlooked. Much like a Froslass in her natural habitat, silence accompanies her lonely watch amidst the snow, detached from the festivities of the mortal realm.

But at some point, she feels a passing gaze - Not quite sharp, ever so familiar and fleeting as a fae in the wild. Curiosity taps at the back of her mind, ever present much like the Mimikyu that sways upon her shoulders. And it only seems content when she spies a familiar mop of hair wandering amidst the crowd, satiated when she takes those first few steps to follow.

Their world isn't ours to dwell in.

She stands before the shrine before she even knows it, her eyes tracing the shadows that carve every corner. Beside her, many scribble wishes of the future, press their hands together if only to offer prayers to those who will never listen.

You would find your time better spent elsewhere, young Eirwen.

Sighing, she looks up to the pale skies and the frozen fractals they bestow upon this region.

Is she not going to stop him before he gets hurt?

"If you're sure."

The words come out seemingly indifferent as they always have, yet something still prickles at the back of her mind. When had she started caring so much about whether someone would get hurt from their choices?

His first few seconds on the ice go quite well, her eyes taken off him for a few seconds as she watches Eclipse gently scrabble across the frozen surface to keep pace. But when she looks back up, his hand is outstretched, that same goofy grin on his face as he asks of her the simplest thing: To hold his hand to help him keep his balance.

Why not? She reaches out with her own hands, reddened knuckles brushing against his thumb as her fingers easily slip into his palms. And in doing so, she finds a warmth that tickles her senses, one that she finds herself not quite minding even as her palm burns lightly from the difference in temperature.

"Take it slow. We're in no rush."

[attr="class","hanatext"]Truth be told, she hadn't expected him to agree. It had just been a passing thought that she'd unintentionally vocalised whilst brewing some tea and staring at the snow piling outside the window. Now that she's here though...

Warm hands slip in just as she finishes putting her skates on, deftly tying the laces into bows. The smile that he gives her whilst asking for her critique is something that she watches for a moment, hesitating as if attempting to figure out how she should go about things. But after a few beats of silence, she raises a hand, reaching up to his head whilst it's still within reach and offering a few gentle pats.

Pushing to her feet, it takes all but a moment for her to figure her balance, even with a rather rowdy Zorua running loops around and between her skates.

"Sure you wanna try skating?"

It had been a passing whim, after all. From frostbitten noses to sore legs, the multitude of injuries and maladies that could befall him is something that weighs at the back of her mind.

This lie is but a carefully crafted truth upon her lips, honesty ringing in her voice even as it cracks under pressure. It's strange how theatrics really get her to loosen up, her language no longer minded as she screams out to the crowd. She's stepping back but she isn't fighting back, she's nothing like the girl he met in those alleyways with her poison and spite. As alike as she may look, there's something about her that just seems so much different.

Her screaming gathers the attention of fellow pokemon trainers, each of them calling upon their own pokemon as they ready themselves for a fight. And amidst those battle-ready are several with rather notable arm bands, the Pacifidlog rangers already on site to deal with the chaos and menace.

A Salamence dives from the sky, crashing down towards the Dragonite whilst a Solrock promptly gets her out with an Ally Switch.

"Who are you?" A songbird that has escaped its cage will remember how to sing different tunes, a voice much unlike her own trembling as she plays along. Eclipse growls in her arms, his little disguise shaking just as violently as Hex would at the perceived threat. "What do you want?!"

[attr="class","hanatext"]The checkpoint enters her vision, then fades with the snow. It's a cruel place that will provide no moment of respite, swords drawn from the earth as their edges seek blood.

"Your tongue will freeze if you keep talking."

Her voice cuts through the clang of swords, her Glastrier dancing amidst the Honedges as they fend off the metal storm. Hardened ice remains impenetrable to cold steel, Sylvatica's temper quickly waning as their carefully chiselled mane threatens to chip away. And they'll grab one between their icy teeth, stomping down on another and shattering through a frozen body.

[attr="class","hanatext"]Sometimes, she wonders if pokemon truly are capable of recognising a threat. The rowdy group that descends upon them are nothing more than that, creatures who have overestimated their capabilities as an Avalanche sweeps through their ranks.

Death is unfortunate, death is a necessity, death is a cycle. These Sneasels may not face an immediate death in that wave of snow, but tomorrow perhaps they might find themselves starving over the lack of prey. With pokemon frozen within unmelting ice in these wastelands, there will be no carcasses to ravage. And soon enough, they may join those unfortunate souls in their fate.

Such thoughts are pointless in the grand scheme of things, she will not linger on things that she cannot change, that she has no interest in changing. And she finds that the same thoughts shall apply to the way that Michael Navidson cheers - A thrill seeker? A battler through and through? As long as it doesn't cloud his judgement, nor affect their workflow, who is she to judge what he enjoys?

Bright red fingertips tap at the Glastrier's mane, urging them not to fall behind even as the flames flicker and dance before their eyes. As reluctant as they may be to step through the rising heat, they eventually relinquish such an attitude. Determined not to be outdone in their own domain, their Chilling Neigh echoes through the icelands as they crash through the curtain of fire and begin to pull ahead.

[attr="class","hanatext"]After that whole crisis of the meteor nearly crashing into Hoenn, it really will take a lot more than some boulders falling from the sky for her to be shaken up. Sure, it's a pity that others are getting hurt in her stead, but when you really think about it... Where are the rangers of Pacifidlog Town to take out this threat? Perhaps, busy taken care of issues regarding the nearest rift? That would be a rather awful allocation of resources, wouldn't it?

Sighing at the blatant ignorance of the warning, Lilith simply follows the flow of the crowd, careful not to get trampled by the panicked civilians and avoiding each falling meteor with a good bit of aim prediction and grace. And as she does, she makes a quick call to the nearest Ranger outpost, letting them listen to the screams, crashing meteors and thunderous footfalls.

There's only so much time before enforcement comes in to clean up. All she has to do is find cover and wait it out.

[attr="class","hanatext"]With the only source of external stimulation being the way Viridis hugs her leg, she hears her thoughts more clearly the longer she allows herself to observe the room. In that moment, it's neither pleasant nor particularly unbearable, simply a sea of static that paces her through what needs to be done.

But then comes a ripple in the midst of a faceless crowd, nerves tip-tip-tapping as the next customer walks up to the window. Their footsteps are incoherent, far too many beats for a single stride ahead. One minute, she sees them striking up the usual conversation with the teller.

Then comes a series of click.

Her attention snaps to the main entrance, the soft clinking of keys accompanying a quiet pink shimmer. The same sight greets her when she looks to the side exit, her eyes narrowing at the synchronised Fairy Locks. And though their features might be distorted by how well they blend in with the crowd, she counts a few too many people from when she last counted.

Tension hangs taut in the air, it's only a matter of who realises and acts first -

"Out."

Quick, precise - The Vibrava she calls out catches sight of a fox attempting to unveil itself and immediately swings with a Dragon Tail, launching the Zoroark up into the ceiling with a loud crack.

The first jolt of panic electrifies the crowd. And with that, comes a panicked scream.
