Last time, he wasn’t successful.

Maybe this would be a little different?

Shrugging his shoulders, he was at the other end of Route 119—the point that connected with Fortree.

He knew he was going to be in for a long hike, considering he would normally start from the other side and work his way up to Fortree for his weekly exercise routine, and then make his way back once he’d reached the end of 119 before he set foot on Route 118.

He wondered, though, was he going to be able to find a different variety of Pokémon if he started closer to the city?

It was time to find out, honestly.

Hiking through the tall grass, he had to be careful not to fall into ‘rabbit holes’.

Yes, there were holes pockmarking the surface here and there—and the ridiculously-growing grass made it difficult, if not outright impossible, for some of these holes to be easily seen.

One sign he’d almost fallen in was when he felt his balance go off-kilter a bit and he backed away as fast as he could, before catching sight of the biggest…walking mushroom he had ever seen.

“Whoa, what the hell,” he blinked a few times as he regained his balance before recognizing what he’d come across.

Scary, he thought as he read the information his PokéGear spat out at him about Parasect.

Giving this one a wide berth, he continued his hike.

A sudden swooping noise caught his attention and Alexei looked up.

However, the Pokémon that had caught his attention was one he already had.

In fact, I should have Angelo say hello to Nanners next time he comes by the Sanctuary, he thought as he watched the Tropius fly overhead, before coming to a landing somewhere not too far away and lowering its neck.

He was wondering why it had taken that strange stance, until he saw some young Grass-types literally swarm for the ripe fruit hanging off the Tropius’s neck.

“Ah, it makes sense now,” he remarked as he quickly snapped a picture of the little scene, before leaving it behind.

He didn’t want to disturb the idyllic serenity he had witnessed just now.

Sure, Alexei was from Unova but there were some Pokémon that didn’t get his attention as much as the others did.

…and it so happened that one of them was right there, not too far ahead of him! A sharp scent made him pause in his tracks, because anything that was a Grass-type normally spread powder—but the thing was there was like, no way to tell if the powder was going to be harmful or beneficial.

“Sadly, no,” he said to himself as he skirted past the Amoonguss, giving it a wide berth because of the peculiar scent that was wafting from its direction.

It was… dangerous, so to speak.
