ah, yes. plants. not.. exactly something that she can maintain, properly.

a green thumb isn't something people would attribute to her, even less so if they realize what she did for a living. however, this kind of side work paid well, handsomely, and generously, too much for her not to take advantage of it. even though she was more used to swinging her arms and kicking her legs around an open space, there was still something oddly charming and relaxing about being outside, embracing the gentle breeze of springtime. there was something oddly endearing, warm, and it wasn't just the weather nor the sweet scent of flowers that wafted through the air.

"ack--" the woman groans slightly, quietly, as she runs her fingers through dulled, blue hair to tug out any stray leave or twigs that might have gotten caught in the tangles of her locks. truly, plants dislikes her.

With the aid of his Fomantis and Turtwig, Xander wasn't having much trouble harvesting the berries. He couldn't say the same about the young woman with him. She looked to be having a particularly rough go of it. He listened and watched as she groaned, pulling twigs from her hair.

His eyes briefly darted down to Lily. The Fomantis was currently munching on an Oran Berry, taking a break. He didn't need both her and Gaia helping him.

"Uh, hey." he cleared his throat and approached. "If you're having trouble, I can loan you my Fomantis. At the very least, she'll make sure you don't end up with anymore twigs in your hair."

she's not good with harvesting, and she couldn't rely on her pokemon to help her out. that is, unless she wanted an icy fox and a limbless serpent to help her with harvesting.

the woman raises her gaze, upwards, to a man who seemed to be.. slightly concerned about her well being - as if the plants had started attacking her, or she was making herself look like a bumbling child struggling to make amends with the wretched plants. she pulls out the remainder of twigs from the locks of dull blue, and puts a small smile on her lips. she's not one to turn down help when offered.

"ah.. thanks. that'd be a lifesaver." her voice is soft as she leans forward to rest her arms against her knees, crouched to the ground.

"i can't say the plants really like me."

Xander returned her smile with a half-hearted one of his own. She seemed friendly, but so did most people when you first met them. "No problem. The quicker we get done, the faster we get paid." and helping someone in need felt good. Even if he wouldn't admit that to himself.

Lilly skipped over to the pair after she finished her berry. Joyful and giddy as always, Fomantis jumped to playful tap the woman's nose. "You sure they don't like you?" he questions, "Cause Lilly sure does." meant to be a joke. Xander's dry tone made him sound more sarcastic than funny.

"Oh, and I'm Xander."
