It was damn near the end of the week. All those years spent trying to catch a break, avoiding work, taking it easy, and just not giving a damn had come back and bit Dallas right in the ass. It felt like it too, his entire body sore from all of the chaos and adventure he embarked on, getting caught up in everything from gang violence to ghost Pokémon, the whole "a" to "z". Finally it was the weekend, and he was given some time off from work to heal back from his various injuries. He had run his hands through his hair, eventually coming to touch his face and the scar cut across the top of his forehead. He cringed at a slight pain, it was still sore from the other day. There were times he was thankful for his Pokémon.
On most occasions Dallas would stay at home and relax on the furniture, catching the news and snoozing off in his personal armchair. He didn't have much else to do in his new apartment, as he wasn't allowed to carry many belongings around due to his work. Dallas didn't mind though, he wasn't much for materialistic things, and tended to enjoy an empty room with a good book rather than a bunch of noisey decorations and knick knacks. Having less room taken up by these things has given Dallas enough space to hold his collections, gems and stones of varying beautiful colors, and tools specifically used for inspecting each and every crevice of his tokens. He had magnifying glasses that could see at different magnifications, dusters for cleaning dirt and debris, chisels for chipping away the useless stone that was embedded into the beautiful fossils, and polisher for shining all to keep his collection in pristine condition. Oh how he loved his stones. This time however, instead of staying at home to admire his collection, he decided it was time to explore one of the greatest wonders of Hoenn region: Meteor Falls. A cavern so large and so beautiful especially at night when the moon rises, as the light of the moon cascades into the cavern from an opening high above. A flowing spring river flows through the inside connecting multiple pools together, and crashing over steep cliffs creating the falls that the cave is so aptly named for. It was a sight to behold and it was on Dallas' bucket list to see.
Dallas had travelled north of Rustboro City, leaving at around midday strolling through the nearby forests and climbing various hills and crags just to get to the foot of the cave. On his way he had seen many different types of Pokémon home to the Hoenn region. From cawing Wingulls who were native to the nearby beaches to Zigzagoons frolicking in the wooded groves. Dallas saw some other Pokémon he recognized, such as a grouping of Geodudes that were resting against a mountainous wall. The afternoon sun had created shadows over the wall that made them easily visible to the naked eye, as Dallas was sure during the day they would be quite camouflaged. Dallas had eventually reached the cave by sundown, and after taking a quick break to eat and feed his team of Pokémon, he entered.
Upon entering Dallas could immediately hear the roar of the falls as it echoed through the extremely large cavern. A large pool of cave spring water sat immediately to the left of entering the cave, and a horde of fish Pokémon swam about looking for food. Stalactites dangled from the cave ceiling, and the droplets that formed on their bodies dripped frequently creating the visual of a precipitation within the cave. Stalagmites rose up from the ground like malformed teeth, the maw of the cave drinking the water from above. Up ahead Dallas could see a path that had been chiseled out by Hiker's in previous expeditions, and, further up the path he discovered a former dig site embedded into the epicenter of a crater. Years ago it seemed that meteorite had crashed into the mountain that the cave was home to, and created the skylight that let in the light of the moon, while simultaneously creating craters and fissures ripe with meteor rock. This was more than what Dallas wanted.
"Absolutely astounding" Dallas said to himself. This cave was a prize for Dallas, and after making the treacherous journey to come here, he knew he had to take something back with him. After digging around and picking up various stones he felt were of interest, he thought it was time he searched for some Pokémon. He had hoped that the cave would bring him something new and exciting to add to his team, and one that would be just as precious as the stones he found. Perhaps a Rock-Type Pokémon, but maybe there was even some more unique to add to his team...
