skin is created by pharaoh leap with graphical help from red. we would like to thank leap and meulk for their additional templates (staff temp, custom pc).

next, garden/swarm spawn, ranger raid, black market, pkmn contest post templates were coded by ulla.

teal has created the wild spawn, endeavour list, league card, exhibits. he and spiral also created the gachapon script, while the former created the gachapon template.

loreq has assisted us with many quality of life changes on site involving coding fixes, plugins and more.

lav has coded in UI accessibility features on Hoenn (cogwheel icon on the navigational sidebar).

SYNOPSIS: the hoenn league has successfully diverted the 99943 meteno meteroid into an alternate universe. consequently, the region has experienced a violent planeshifting, a bombardment of terastal crystals, and now sports various rifts to realms in the ultra wilds. as megalopolan activity begins to rise, trainers who embark in expeditions to these realms uncover secrets behind the condition of the multiverse.
meanwhile, team rocket and the league amass resources to aid in their conflict against each other. the crime syndicate is poised to take more of the region territorially, while the league ponders a direct offense. legendary pokemon roam the region as potential benefactors or ruinous omens, leaving many to ponder how the hoenn region will ultimately be responsible for the end of all worlds.

But, looking at the ceiling, feeling slightly better for the pain-killers and proper cleaning and mending of her wounds -- she has to admit this was definitely the right call.

Still can't sleep though.

The doctors were very unhappy about the fact that she was running around with an unchecked concussion and told her, just to be on the safe side, that she should try and stay awake again. So she did; and now she's laying there staring at the ceiling trying not to think about how it's been nearly two days since she last so much as rested her eyes.

Whatever Gavin did to get her in that room doesn't count.

"This fuckin' sucks," she says to no one, voice slow and groggy.

As promised, Emma supplies the girl with food. Breaded chicken strips from the pathetic excuse of a cafeteria didn't cut it, not when she knew behind the counter were higher quality options. Brain food, that's what she needed. In the easiest-to-ingest form she could manage. Smoothies worked, and they were one of her go-to meal options in a pinch.[break][break]

She can't shut them for long without risking passing out, but the lights of the med bay keep aggravating them. She's been migraine free for a few hours and would like to stay that way if possible.

"I'm not a kid, neither," Plank continues.

She's aware of Wolfe's entrance, obviously, but the arm over her eyes keeps her from looking at her. The thunk of something on her bedside table barely registers.

The mention of chicken fingers, though, gets her to peek out from behind her arm in the direction of Wolfe's voice. She barely catches the gesture towards the smoothie in time, and only then notices it's there at all. On one hand she's not big on smoothies. On the other her mouth is fucking bone dry and she hasn't had a proper meal in over twelve hours.

"Nnn," she groans as she forces herself to sit up. Another groan accompanies her stretching over the side of the bed to grab the smoothie, and another her settling back into place against the pillows.

"Thanks, or whatever." Plank mumbles, putting the straw between her bruised lips and taking a long sip through it. The cold immediately soothes some of the ache inside her mouth. The sweetness of the blended fruits even perks her up a little bit.

The metal straw rattles against the bottom of her cup, and she glances up to see Plank's pitiful expression. Her arm is draped over her eyes and she glances up to the ceiling. What light illuminates the room is soft, but she moves back across the room to flick them off.[break][break]

She does not, however, move to assist the girl as she pulls herself into a sitting position. Rather, she watches patiently from her side of the room, and only seems to relax when she finally takes a drink. What meek thanks she receives goes unanswered, but she is pleased.[break][break]

"I will be leaving for Mt. Pyre in the morning."[break][break]

Plank doesn't need to know but something encourages her to relay this information anyway. [break][break]

"I will be back late into the evening to look in on you and your recovery."[break][break]

She wouldn't, at least not to look in on her, as it would turn out.[break][break]

Emma sips at her drink, attention drawn to the files left out indicating Plank's current condition. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary or concerning aside from the concussion. But all head injuries were severe and the girl would recover.[break][break]

She was barely keeping her hunger and thirst out of mind, but now that she has something to at least partially address both she's ravenous for more of it. From the chill on the outside of the cup she sucks down half of it before Wolfe finishes talking to her.

Kind of at her, really, but she's used to that.

"Okay?" she says, in an obviously confused voice, from around a half-mouthful of smoothie. She swallows.

"Why?" she asks.

Plank's eyes narrow in Wolfe's direction, this time out of suspicion instead of pain (while it goes unacknowledged, Plank appreciates her suddenly dim surroundings). People don't make a habit of just looking after her, and every time she thinks someone's considering it it seems they either bite it or bite her in the ass.

Given the sway Plank knows Wolfe has, she suspects given time she'll do the latter.

Emma watches the girl down over half of her smoothie in hungry gulps. She blinks, golden eyes resettling on the window looking out into the hall. [break][break]

"I want you to be careful, Vela."[break][break]

She had already proven too slow to protect her the first time, unable to wedge her foot in the door of the affairs Rocket had been involved in. It seemed her position was a title only, whispers above and below her sought to tear this organization down regardless of what she said or did. [break][break]

"You're one of the good ones."[break][break]

Her jaw sets, posture tense as her thoughts drift to issues that had nothing to do with Plank. But she catches the narrowed eyes, the suspicious squint of a trapped animal. It's all too familiar.[break][break]

"Don't trust anyone. This organization will crush you and throw your body to the wolves. Discarded because you don't matter."[break][break]

Though she doesn't say it, there is a subtle implication that she didn't believe what she said was true. They did matter, and that was why she had confronted Gavin the moment Plank had headed back here for assistance. [break][break]

Rage bubbles in her breast at the recollection of their disagreement. She strokes the ring finger on her left hand before proceeding to pop all of her knuckles. The straw bumps against the other side of the cup when she switches hands.[break][break]

It's kind of annoying, but she figures she owes it to the woman for making sure she got her concussion treated and bringing her something to eat. Still, there's something that almost makes her roll her eyes about the last bit.

A second of silence sits heavy in the air as Plank helps herself to a thoughtful sip of smoothie. She licks her lips afterwards, pops them lightly.

"When ya say I can't trust anyone ya know that includes you right?" Plank asks, "I mean that was already how I was operatin' besides . . . well, that was almost how I was operatin'."

Fucking stupid, trusting Cillian Quinn like that. She should have known better.

"It's how I need t' work movin' forward. So you'll understand when I tell ya I don't need anyone momin' me, right?" Plank surprises herself when she asks the question. The words come out steady and sure in a way she doesn't quite feel them deep down.

Plank is so used to misdirection, intentional vagueness, that when she outright states she's not to be trusted and perfectly content (intending) to keep a certain distance between them . . . it's like a weight off her shoulders. One less thing to worry about her heart twisting up and fucking her around over.

"Good," she replies with a sigh, "I'm happy we're on the same page."

The steadiness from her voice moments ago gives way to her bone deep tired. With another sigh she runs a hand through her hair. It's a perfectly normal gesture at first, fingers dragging through the front and down the back of it, but when she hits about her shoulders she tenses up.

A stupid panic hits her chest and she stifles it by clenching her teeth and wrapping her fingers tight around the bit of hair they rest above. Within. The latter action only worsens things, actually, but before she can descend into a complete, messy anxiety attack she lets go and very pointedly drops her hand in her lap.

There she drums her fingers in thought, eyes glaring holes in the blanket that covers her legs. After a moment she turns them to the only other person in the room.

"Hey," she says, mostly to make sure she's got Wolfe's attention, "You cut hair?"

Plank's emotions are foreign to her, virtually unreadable. For such a young woman, she was so impossibly strong, so capable of deflecting and protecting herself.[break][break]

Emma closes her eyes, uncomfortable with this feeling building in her chest. She lets her hand drop from the door.[break][break]

She wants that distance, maybe. She wants someone with hands that don't tremble to cut it, maybe. She needs, despite the show she's working so hard to put on, someone to help her.

Just this once. Just one more time.

She can't help the way her expression falls at the denial, the way she slumps full-body into the pillows behind her. Just one more thing she has to do for herself, she thinks. It's not so different from the rest of her life.

But Wolfe speaks up again. Voice gentle, marked around the edges by . . . uncertainty?

Never has Plank been so grateful to someone for just trying.

"Doesn't have t' be anythin' fancy or whatever," she says, trying not to let her relief show too clearly in her voice (and mostly failing), "I just . . . it has to be shorter. I can't keep it like this."

The moment she gives in to the request, Plank spills over words with every intention to be calm and collected about it. It is a bubbling of emotion that neither of them know how to navigate, and Emma best deals with it by saying nothing at all. [break][break]

[attr="class","sunshine"]Plank makes slow, deliberate moves to face away from Wolfe as the mattress sags beneath her. It's a bit awkward. Her steady shift comes to a sudden stop, as her blanket is trapped under Wolfe. The next movements are quick.

There's no time for Wolfe to potentially shift herself as Plank kicks the blanket off and turns faster than her head appreciates.

She has to slap her hands over her eyes to stop the spinning and vertigo that comes from her hurried movements. The room is blackened by her palms when Wolfe asks her question.

"Uh, yeah, just," she keeps her eyes closed as she removes her hands from atop them. Her right comes to rest on her right thigh while her left gestures vaguely over her shoulders.

"Just uh, cut it t' chin length or whatever. Just, short enough ya'd have t' really try t' grab a handful; but without makin' me look like a fuckin' boy," she says.

"Don't fuckin' care how ya do it, it just has t' go," she replies, more sharply than she meant to. She blows air out hard through her teeth, a quiet hiss that feels deafening in the awkward silence of the room.

"Sure, a few inches at a time, whatever," she amends. There's no apology for her previous tone, but the gentler way she speaks this time could come across as contrite.
