Today's excursion to the wandering sands was to be a quick one. He'd come later in the morning and was scheduled to be in the labs in no less than two hours, thus the man wanders across the burning sands Caelum no less than a Pokeball away if a retreat becomes necessary. He'd had less and less time out to explore the wild sands as work had picked up significantly the generator was in its final stages and studies of Xerneas' tree showed no signs of slowing down, still to neglect the body was to doom oneself and so once again he's caught moving through the blistering sands.

The short excursion had proven worth. Atop a sand dune sits a rare fossil pokemon, one he'd hoped to find a long while ago. A kabutops flies from a pokeball and with that the battle (albeit a short one) is now underway. The bird attempts to flee recognizing the competitor's strength but the kabutops is almost as fast as it is powerful, and so with an Aqua Jet It soars into the air striking the archen down. It replies with a crunch but the aqua jet was so powerful the bird pokemon's lost the little mettle it had a trait of its defeatist nature. A second aqua jet follows and the bird collapses into the sand, a empty pokeball follows, and with that Miles' excursion for the day has come to an end.
