Kazimir would find an empty deck awaiting his grandiose entrance. Silence would settle into the thick, salty air following his bold proclamation, only broken by the distant cries of seafaring Wingulls.

Was Skyler, perhaps, not home?

And then the sound of a booted foot meeting wood planks would echo in the deck of the Sotally Tober. Coat flapping majestically behind her, Captain Skyler Dross would emerge from the bridge of the ship, slowly descending the stairs to meet Kaz.

The captain looks over her friend with a sharp gaze, the mock serious look on her face betrayed only by a playful twinkling of silver eyes as they meet his. 

If she had a cutlass, she'd be pointing it at him.

"There's no way a filthy landlubber like you could comandeer this magnificent a ship! By my ghost, Corsair Kazimir, I will make you walk the plank and taste defeat!" 

With a sudden and dramatic movement of her arm Skyler disrobes herself, the coat falling on the deck in a heap. Displaying Skyler's biceps and the wicked turn of her lips to the glorious afternoon sun. 

Beneath the waves, a pokemon lurks. Tasked with defending the ship against intruders, the Wailord approaches Jolly Roger. Bubbles precede the sudden displacement of water as Nautilus uses WATER SPOUT like a geyser to hit the Blastoise from beneath.

"You shall learn to fear the name Captain Dross!" The following wink is as provoking as it is playful, breaking character just for a second.

A fierce smile pulls at the captain's lips as Kaz lunges at her. She could've dodged or attempted to trip him, but Captain Dross enjoys the thrill of the battle too much not to meet him head on.

She takes one, two bold steps forward, and then Kazimir tackles her, brute strength nearly sending her to the floor. Skyler holds her position with gritted teeth, hands gripping onto Kaz's arm muscles, and using his momentum to instead flip him over her shoulder with something not unlike a battle cry.

Beneath the waves, Nautilus swims away from the Sotally Tober's shadow - needless, now that his opponent has seen him.  Although the Wailord's massive body is an advantage in many occasions, it also makes it an easy target - and the Flash Cannon finds the whale pokemon easily enough. 

Retaliation comes in the shape of an enraged wail that echoes hauntingly in the deep blue water. Nautilus moves away from the Sotally Tober just enough to use WHIRLPOOL in attempt to pull Blastoise into the depths.

Captain Dross can't help but grin down at Kazimir, having successfully flipped him over her shoulder and onto the deck - she'd been training this maneuver for the last few weeks, after all. His laughter is met with her own as he rises to his feet at an impressive speed. Skyler moves into a defensive position immediately, but not even that can help against the sudden kick that comes her way.

Skyler manages to turn ever so slightly, so that the kick lands on her side instead of her chest, but it still manages to leave her breathless and send her back a few steps, closer to the railing. "Shit, Kaz, have you been training your kicks?!" The captain doesn't wait for a response, however, already lunging at her friend with a wild grin and the intent to show him a good fight.

Her arm moves back in preparation before she shoots it at his jaw in a swift uppercut.

Beneath the waves, Nautilus turns just in time to see a Rapid Spinning Blastoise heading his way. There's no attempt to dodge - the Wailord is too big and too slow for that kind of maneuver. Instead, water moves in a frenzy around the Wailord as he opens his mouth wide and a powerful HYDRO PUMP spills out, attempting to slam into the Blastoise and to move it away before it can reach Nautilus.

Skyler's grin at Kaz's words is nothing short of mischievous - and, perhaps, a little bit proud too. She didn't get to show off her strength often, at least not with friends like Kaz. They really should train together, give each other tips and tricks. Maybe she'd invite him over for one of her morning spars...

The thought is interrupted by a jab straight at her, which she's too distracted to counter. Pain explodes in her jaw at the hit, head turning to the side from the force of impact as Skyler retreats a few steps, catching herself with her lower back to the railing. Shit, that'll make an ugly bruise.

"That all you got, Kaz?" A flash of pain shoots up from her jawline when she grins, but Skyler ignores it. Instead, the blonde makes for the stairs that lead to the bridge at a run. She's only on the second step when she vaults over the railing to hopefully fall on Kazimir's back with a war cry. Her legs and arms immediately lock around him as muscles strain to hold on. Her teeth go for his ear, chomping down mercilessly. Is it a dirty move? Yes. Would she still do it? Yes, of course. She's a pirate, after all!

Under the surface of the ocean, both pokemon are having a HYDRO PUMP face off. Ocean currents are disturbed as the battle ensues, nearly catching the Sotally Tober - thankfully, the vessel is a war ship and not easily sunk.

Although slow, Nautilus has a lot a surface area and moves surprisingly fast in the water. He allows Blastoise's HYDRO PUMP to scrape along his side, interrupting his own powerful jet of water to attempt instead a BODY SLAM against the Blastoise.

"Who told you only pirates can fight dirty?" Her voice comes in pants and gasps as she tries her best to hold on to a flailing Kaz, hissing out a curse when he tugs on her hair. "Oi, not the hair!" Her warning is interrupted, however, by a sudden shift in gravity, silver eyes widening in alarm as the ground rises to meet her.

"Shiiiit."

Captain Dross might be packing some muscle, but when Kaz's weight falls on her it empties her lungs of all air. A wheeze escapes her lips as she attempts to breathe past the pressure, arms flailing about in an attempt to dislodge him with little success. What the hell was Kaz made out of, bricks and cement?

Gritting her teeth, she winds her legs around his torso, thigh muscles tensing as she puts all of her weight into the movement in an attempt to flip them over so she's on top. 

Beneath the water's surface, the smaller shape of Blastoise is swept away in the Body Slam, though it doesn't seem to have taken much damage from it. Thankfully the bump against the Sotally Tober isn't felt - being a war ship - or else Captain Dross would've gone into a rage. 

Noticing that they're quickly approaching the ship again, Nautilus swims back, careful about not damaging the ship. Instead, he leaves a healthy distance between himself and the water vessel and summons a terrifyingly powerful water vortex (Z-MOVE: Hydro Vortex), strong ocean currents dragging smaller objects and unfortunate pokemon into its spiral - including, hopefully, a certain Blastoise.

Although Kazimir wouldn't have been able to see it, a hilariously affronted expression twists Skyler's face at the insult to her ship. "What did you say about the Sotally Tober?! I'll have you know, you fuc-" Her furious tirade is interrupted by a buckling body beneath her. Instinct has her trying to hold onto Kaz - rodeo style - but it isn't long before one of his movements manages to dislodge her and throw her onto the wooden deck beside him.

"Oof!"

Her chaotic mess of blonde curls spills onto the wooden deck as she rolls onto her back, attempting to regain her breath. Adrenaline rushes through her veins, lights up her silver eyes in a way that's downright dangerous. A smile creeps up onto her lips as she reaches a hand out to the nearest soggy rag - left there after she'd had some of her pokemon scrub the deck.

"You take that back, you landlubber! The Sotally Tober is the most beautiful ship." And with that, Captain Dross throws the dirty, soggy rag at Kazimir's face, seizing the chance to get onto her feet again.

Beneath the waves, Blastoise is hopelessly caught in the swirling vortex caused by Nautilus, along with a dozen or so other pokemon who'd been innocently swimming nearby. Pressure builds in the vortex, crushing smaller shells and ocean debris into dust. On the surface, if one were to look, they'd see a giant whirlpool forming a spiral into the depths.

As the currents cease their frenzied movement and the vortex dies down, Nautilus lets out a preemptive wail of victory, though a strange shimmer seems to envelop the colossal body of the Wailord for a second or two as the PROTECT prevents any of the earlier debris, still swirling about in the nearby waters, to hit him.

As if summoned by Kaz's words, blue tentacles and a pair of perpetually angry eyes peer out of the ship's brig to glare at the bulky blond, offended at being called an octillery. Should Kazimir look, he'd recognize the lurking shape as a Grapploct, one of Captain Dross's crewmembers and ultimately the reason why so many of the rags smelled like sashimi.

The rag snaps towards Captain Dross, resulting in something akin to a squeak falling from her lips (if asked, she'd deny any involvement in any kind of squeak - captains did not squeak). The filthy fabric ends up catching her right in the face, and she's forced to stumble backwards, nearly falling on her ass again when she trips over a nearby bucket.

It does nothing to diminish her fury. 

Words are forgotten as a feral growl rips its way out of her throat in response to Kazimir's provocations. The next motion of her arm is automatic, leaning down to grab a nearby bucket (still slightly soapy from a previous cleaning) and unceremoniously throwing it at Kaz's head. "For the Sotally Tober!" Following the momentum, Skyler sweeps low and kicks a leg out to trip the blond up.

Seizing the brief moment of respite, Nautilus peers up at the shadow the Blastoise, having sunken further into the depths. The massive shape of the whale lies in wait; when no attack comes forth, the Wailord decides to take matters into his own hands - well, flippers.

Rising up from the deep cobalt ocean, the whale pokemon would cut through the waters at a speed that most would not believe a Wailord capable of. A deep wail echoes through the water just before Nautilus breaks through the surface, momentum carrying him unbelievably into the air.

A gargantuan shadow falls over the waves, spelling disaster to any boats or small pokemon nearby.
