The Blissey bounced along the pavement as it was smacked by the brutal swing, rolling over the hard flooring. Small arcs of lightning rolled over her fur, making her click her teeth.

"You okay over there, Nurse?" He said as she rolled to a stop near him, whining. She much preferred the medbay to this, she decided as she stumbled back to her feet. "Stupid question, sorry. Heal up."

The Blissey munched onto an egg.

For her part, the Hatterene simply utilized Psychic, stopping the Pachirisu before it came close and then attempting to slam it into the ground repeatedly with its psychic grip.

in the same manner of canceling the pachirisu's move, the hatterene on kyle's side of the field had also utilized psychic, stopping the chansey from eating the egg by forcing it out if its hold and taking it away from it.

"pachi, last resort."

being battered thrown away from the hatterene brings it closer to the blissey by comparison. the landing wasn't graceful, and would receive the egg that the smeargle took from the blissey had he been successful.

in its weakened state, it sprints towards the blissey. it glows in a bright light as it slams its tail at the blissey, stars erupting from the point of contact upon impact.

Things quickly went to crap for the Captain; the road was still long, clearly.

The Blissey held tightly onto her egg. Too tightly perhaps. You were not supposed to take the eggs, you were supposed to receive them! So stubbornly she held onto her egg, that she eventually got yanked along with it, her feet dragging along the floors.

And right into the shiny, explosive chipmunk.

KABLOOEY!

The blissey face planted atop her egg, splatting its contents along the floors.

Doug face palmed solidly, his while Vivi blasted the little Pachirisu with blazing flames to bring that half of the battle to a full close.

"This is embarrassing..." Muttered the youth as he gripped the bridge of his nose. And right in front of the champion, too. Not painting himself in a very threatening light, far as possible challengers were.

Figured that possibly the most important battle in the tournament would be the one were he attempted to be fancy and ate shit for it.

-Blissey fainted.
-Vivi used Mystical fire on Pachirisu.

"embarrassing or not, it's pretty fun," he mentions to doug, chuckling himself at the sight of the blissey. kyle's avatarship manifests in a subconscious attempt to uplift spirits from his presence alone, albeit nothing visible was noticeable from it.

the healer on his field flashes a heal pulse at the pachirisu following the attack.

"good to see a gym leader with abilities in the higher end in the ranks though. keep it up, thanks!"

he didn't have enough time with his current position to keep on challenging gyms, but this would suffice. he smiles, content with how the position was filled.

In the end, the fight ended up going in the Champion's favor. A predictable outcome, some would have said, but Doug hadn't chosen his pokemon for no reason- he had really been trying to win.

Perhaps he had been trying too hard; should've chosen pokemon he was more comfortable using instead of trying out a new combo...

Sighing, the youth dragged down his cap, adjusting it atop his head.

"Thank you for the match, Mr. Lopez." The youth said as he returned both of his pokemon to their respective balls, a small smile being drawn out of him by Kyle's words.

Praise from the best trainer in Hoenn wasn't easily brushed off!

"And on that note." The youth said as he fished into his jacket, producing a singularly gleaming Rainbow Badge. It was similar to a certain survival/miracle badge the champion might've had...

But this one had art made just for it, so it was totally different. Plus the multicolored plates were actually see through! You could create rainbow lights by shining it through them!

"We were told to give these to whichever trainers earned them." The youth said, scratching the back of his head as he chuckled. "You of all people have no need for this, but... ya did earn it, so, here! I award you the Honor badge!"
