Lo and behold, it wouldn't be long until a pokemon came to scurry on by because it was attracted to the scent. [break][break]

Of course, Jennifer seemed less than pleased to see it. It was so.. Large, and bulky. Not exactly a pokemon that she found cute, but.. Its utility use would probably help. With that spiky shield and - from what she could recall from trainer's school way back in the day, the poisonous and explosive substances on its shell. Supposedly, it wasn't exactly a strong little thing but.. Well, it'd probably make a good meat shield when push comes to shove. Worst case scenario, she could sell it to rocket and see if she could make a pretty penny out of it, then use the money she got from that to restock on any pokeball that she may or may not have lost in the process. [break][break]

So long as she wasn't wasting her time. [break][break]

The woman glares to the dragon pokemon for a short while before abruptly snapping at the lizard resting on top of the rock. "Wakey wakey, Venus~" The gleam in her amber eyes seem to shine briefly as she stares at the tortoise-like pokemon. "Poison gas." She casually orders without hesitation, prompting the lizard pokemon to open her mouth and spew out toxic fumes in the direction of the approaching pokemon. The pokemon began to cough as though it were attempting not to get poisoned-- And yet its efforts bared fruitless as it eventually succumbed to the gas. As though in response, the pokemon began to prep their shell to put in front of them; unfortunately for them, Venus was very much versed in special attacking. Hence, she could only giggle softly. She could almost pity it. Almost. Points off for stupidity. [break][break]

"Dragon Pulse." She once again commands with the snap of her finger. The amethyst eyes of the lizard shares the same gleam as its trainer, only soon then opening her jaw again to send a beam-like pulse at the target. Dragon attack on the dragon pokemon, and it was knocked back from the attack. No explosion because no contact; she could live with that. With that, Jennifer pulls out a spare pokeball and tosses it out, hitting the pokemon against the head before it's enveloped in a bright red light. [break][break]

She waits.. And waits..

The big guy got away, and now she was stuck sulking. After her big talk about catching it, and then utterly failing? Man, how embarrassing was that? The Salandit seemed to hiss in amusement, almost casting her a glare and a snicker at her misfortune before the trainer herself gently bonks the top of the impish pokemon's head. "Oh, shut it." She grumbles. The salt was running thick through this one. "It just means that you gotta try harder. Fight harder." Yet at her words, the lizard only hissed once again with a smirk on her face. [break][break]

Man, she wished that she could wipe that smug look off. [break][break]

But the gods seemed to smile down upon her, as she caught the sight of a petite, bird-like pokemon racing on by through the skies. Now, by no means was it a big pokemon. A pretty small bird; although notably larger than her Starly. The woman continues to glare upwards as a smirk tugs at her lips. She lowers her hand to gently poke at Venus with a grin on her lips. "Yo," she starts, using her other hand to reach up and point at the bird "your chance to redeem yourself before I rename you to Uranus~". [break][break]

The Salandit nearly sneers, opening her jaw while spewing and carefully aiming a good dragon pulse up at the bird. The fire lizard seemed to barely miss it - however, the pulse seemed to do a bit on the talons of the bird that used agility to soar through the skies, eventually leading to it falling. Jennifer lowers her arm down to have the lizard slick up and stay, running towards the area where the bird was thought to hit. Shortly as she travels through the craggy area and rocks galore, she finds the bird attempting to recover from the blast that came from seemingly nowhere. There was no time to waste. [break][break]

Jennifer snaps her fingers while pointing in the direction of the fire pokemon, holding her arm out to the Salandit with a smile before commanding in a soft tone; "Go get 'er." [break][break]

And with that, the Salandit spews out a poison gas towards the imbalanced bird. In retaliation, however, the stubborn little thing was more than intent on hardening their wings to rush through the cloud - knowing that they would get poisoned. The bird, though shaky, dashed towards the Salandit who was a bit too cocky for her own good and managed to land a solid hit against the fire/poison hybrid. Though it hadn't done much damage, the lizard fell off her arm and rolled onto the ground, hissing as she hit and slid back up. Venus was not amused. [break][break]

Jennifer, on the other hand, was. [break][break]

"... Little guy's got guts~" The woman hums with a sense of intrigue, snapping to Venus who seemed to bare her fangs at the now competition. "Where's the fun if there's no competition? Right, Uranus?~" And at that, the lizard attempted to spew small embers at her trainer. Jennifer knew that Venus hated having her pride crushed, and rubbing salt into the wound only made her want to tease the Salandit even more. However, the settled with a grin while bringing her finger to her lower lip, eventually shifting an amused gaze to the Fletchinder. "Lets see how she fares with some venoshock!" And with that command, Venus lunged forwards as a purple liquid began to form in her mouth, just enough so she could spew it out at the bird who was trying to get used to getting back into the air. Unfortunately for them, the poison was slowly beginning to chip at their health. Only an agility was able to save them from the full impact of the move, however their wing had been affected by the poisonous attack; only making flying all the more difficult. [break][break]

... Well, trained pokemon were typically stronger, anyways. [break][break]

The constant smile that was stretched across her face never did falter, and soon enough, Jennifer grabbed a pokeball from her bag and tossed it at the struggling fire bird.
