[attr="class","hearmenand22"]"oh, i'm actually here with serena." Danny says as he glances around the room, probably searching for her. Vivienne's crimson orbs smolder as they linger on the man in front of her. "Is that so?" she feigns ignorance as she takes another generous sip from her glass.

"she's off mingling somewhere, doing what she does best. i thought i'd do the same but i guess i'm still not as comfortable here." Vivienne nodded again, sympathetically. Connection. She desired to maintain it, even if it was built on false pretenses. If she came on too strongly she'd turn him away from the sounds of it.

No, she'd savor him for a bit, perhaps this could be a long con of hers. Vivienne had to resist the urge to let her lips curl into a wicked smirk as Danny glanced back towards her. "You'll get used to this." Vivi said with a smile as she gestured around them. "Go to enough parties, get introduced to the right crowds and suddenly they all seem the same." That wasn't a lie.

She gave him an empathetic look, "Shame on Serena for leaving you here all alone." she said with a little pout. "If you were my date, I wouldn't be able to keep my hands off you." the tone she delivered the statement in was innocent but with a trained eye one would be able to see in the depths of her eyes, she was anything but innocent.

Meanwhile, Serena managed to speak to key important figures at the charity and make her own donation. And she did it all in record time. Her team would've been proud. She was just tying up lose ends of 'small talk' when out of the corner of her eye she spotted Vivienne beside Danny.

Serena's eyes widened as she felt something tighten in her chest. What was she doing? "Is something the matter?" one of the celebrity investors asked her and pulled her attention away from the pair. "Oh, no, I just thought I recognized someone but I was mistaken." she laughed it off as she continued to listen to what they were saying.

Occasionally she would glance over to keep tabs on Vivienne and Danny but it wasn't until she saw the dark haired woman press against him while they both laughed that Serena felt irritation and something else, bubble up within her gut. "It was wonderful catching up with you. I need to go check on my date, make sure he's doing okay. We'll chat again!" she said with a bright smile as she dismissed herself from the conversation abruptly.

Once she turned her smile faded as she made her way towards the two of them. Vivienne was a snake and it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. Girl's tended to know when someone was bad news early on or not. Not to mention Vivi let the façade slip a few times when around Serena. The two of them didn't get along, not due to anything Serena did, but for some reason Vivi just didn't like her.

At this point, the feeling was mutual. She especially didn't like seeing her pressed up against Danny like that. Vivienne on the other hand managed to catch a glimpse of Serena and decided to put on a show. Screw what she said earlier, she wanted to watch the girl squirm so she started to amp up the chase.

"You simply must, tell me who designed this for you Danny." she said as she gingerly ran her slender fingers along his coat arm. "The stitching and fabric choice are divine." she said as she lingered closer to him. Just in time for Serena to meet up with them. "Oh Serena, you look gorgeous, as always." Vivienne complimented her with a sweet smile.

Serena chuckled before offering a smile of her own to Vivienne. "Likewise. I hope you've been well Vivienne." their words were sweet but the air around the pair was ice cold. "Oh yes, I'm wonderful, darling. I've been enjoying the most pleasant conversation with Danny here." she said as she clung to his side.

Serena felt her eye twitch ever so slightly at the display. "I must say Serena. You really have outdone yourself with this one." she said as she smiled up at him. "He's so sweet and kind. Honestly I could eat him right up." she said with a giggle as she brought his arm to rest against her chest. "He certainly is a great guy." Serena said as her hands curled into fists at her side.

"Hold onto him tightly now. It'd be a shame if someone stole him from you." she said with an easy smile before turning to face Danny. She pulled away from him but not before sneakily sliding something in his jacket pocket. A tiny note that would read; 'When you tire of playing house with her, Call me' and Vivi's number would be listed below. "It was lovely speaking with you, but I won't steal your time any longer." she said as she waved goodbye to the both of them. "Enjoy the rest of the evening you two!" she said before she departed their company.

Lucky for them they couldn't see the wickedest of grins on her features because her back was turned to them. Ah, she loved watching Serena get all worked up and bothered like that. It was so much fun, she'd have to do it again sometime. Serena's smile faded instantly as she watched Vivienne walk away before turning her gaze to Danny.

"Remember when you asked me who you should take care to look out for?" she said, her tone cool. "Make her the top of the list."

[attr="class","hearmenand22"]Serena wouldn't put herself above being the 'jealous type'. She was sure in right situations she could probably sway from one side to another. This was one of those situations. But above all, what made this whole thing different was Serena's dislike for Vivienne. Serena kept her eyes trained on her as she watched Vivienne slither off like the snake she was.

Had she really just threatened her? In front of Danny? Serena's nails dug into her palm as her temper flared. This woman didn't know who she was making an enemy out of. And in recent days, Serena noticed her patience for people doing whatever the fuck they wanted to her and not facing the consequences for those actions was growing very thin.

"are you okay?" Danny asks Serena but she's too in her head to answer. Just what had gone on while she was away? And did any of the journalist see? If some whack ass story developed from this, and all their hard work went to waste, she would be hard pressed not to rip Vivienne a new one.

Of all the rotten, ugly people Danny could've run into why did it have to be her? And why the hell hadn't she considered her appearance from the beginning. Serena was growing more irritated with her slip up the more she thought about it. It wasn't until Danny's hand brushed against her jaw as she gently turned her towards him, did her train of thought cease.

"sorry. i didn't know." he apologized and Serena sighed. "You don't need to apologize. You, didn't do anything wrong." It was true, she wasn't mad at him, she knew better than that. She was furious with Vivienne though. She knew exactly what hidden words she delivered to her during their conversation and she didn't like them.

"She just really grinds my gears," Serena admitted sheepishly before shrugging. "I'm sorry for leaving you alone for so long. I got caught up and couldn't leave." she looked down at her feet, the guilt she felt earlier returning. "I've been a crappy date." and it was only made evident when she noticed another woman chatting up her man.

Serena resisted the urge to sigh deeply again. There wasn't much that could be done now. Vivienne had done her worst for now, she just hoped she would stay far away from Danny as possible. Maybe she could convince her team to keep Danny away from events such as these in the future. She felt bad about doing so, but she wanted to keep Danny and Vivienne as far away as possible from each other. Not because she didn't trust Danny, but because Vivienne was a rat that couldn't be trusted.

[attr="class","hearmenand22"]"come here," came Danny's immediate response. Before she could do anything she felt his arms slip around her and pull her in close to him. Not caring if anyone was looking, he embraces her tightly and she welcomes it. Leaning her face against his chest, she feels him run his hands through her hair.

"there's nothing to be sorry for, serena. you've been amazing — i wouldn't have been this prepared if not for you." She shook her head, "That wasn't me, it was the team." she muttered softly. She still felt bad. He was out of his element here and she had managed to get so caught up with work he ended up meeting the devil in sheep's clothing.

She didn't want to be here any longer than she had to be now. Especially because she didn't want to see Vivienne's gloating face. She wasn't sure she could control her temper if she did. "I wanna get out of here. How about you?" she asked as she finally glanced up to look at him. If he wanted to stay she would, but it would be clear that the last place she wanted was to be here, in front of all these cameras and people.
