[attr="class","danny"]serena's team tells him there's a lot riding on this charity event. it'll be their first public apperance where they're officially together as a couple, and that's big news for some people. he doesn't quite understand it, really, but he goes along with it regardless. he'll do anything to make her happy.

her team's picked out a lot of things for him to wear, say, and do during the evening, but the one thing they didn't have a hand in is the car he decides to pick her up in. it's sporty, trendy, and most importantly, yellow, his favorite color.

he parks it downstairs before he rides the elevator up all the way to her penthouse. he knocks on the familiar door, then reaches up to quickly fix his tie. when the door opens, he flashes her a warm smile.

"evening, serena."

Serena's Outfit

[attr="class","hearmenand22"]"Cas where did I put my shoes?!" she asked as she stumbled around her room. Music was blasting and her clothes were thrown all over her room. She had a bit of trouble getting ready today just because it had taken her way too long to actually find a dress she liked. Once she did things were better but had run out of the majority of her time to get ready at that point.

Then she had to do her makeup. Arceus have mercy, because that always took forever. She never appreciated having a make-up artist do her makeup more than when she had to do it on her own. Unfortunately everyone was booked for this evening so Serena had to get ready on her own. She ended up doing a good job, going for a smokey eye and a sharp winged liner and a nude lip for her makeup.

She slicked back her unruly bangs and pinned them in place with a gold and diamond encrusted pin, while the rest of her hair flowed down her back in waves. (pretend the pin is gold) "Caspurr!" she shouted as she walked out of her bathroom putting her gold earrings in.

Serena had opted for colored contacts this evening, purple ones to be exact. The rest of her outfit was pretty basic. Black and gold, nothing too amazing there so she wanted to stand out in another way. "Music off." she ordered in annoyance as the in her room abruptly stopped mid song. She was about to call for Cas again when he game in, as annoyed as his trainer, with her heels in his mouth.

"Thank you!" she said as she grabbed them from him and quickly patted him on the head. As she was strapping the heel to her foot she heard a knock. That had to be Danny, "I'll be right there!" she called out as she hopped towards the front door. She quickly managed to get her other heel on and fastened around her ankle so that she could answer the door.

"Hey!" she breathed as she flashed him a smile when she opened the door. Giving him a quick once over she nodded, "You look good." she said as she stepped out of the way. "Come in, I'm almost ready, I promise." she said as she planted a quick kiss on his cheek before leaving almost as quickly as she had come in, to grab the rest of her things.

even if she is in a rush. it's actually quite impressive because if their roles were reversed, he'd be a total mess.

he relishes the quick kiss on his cheek and steps through, following her in. "no rush!" but she's already rushing, so there's little point in reiterating. he chuckles to himself, appreciating the moment.

a few moments pass before they find themselves on the elevator, traveling down to the basement instead of the ground floor. he'll answer a question even before she has a chance to ask.

"no limousine tonight, unfortunately. i thought i'd drive us to the event instead."

the elevator dings open, and it's only a short walk over to the car. it's luxurious, sporty, and expensive. it should fit right in with others.

he makes sure to open the door for her before getting in himself.

"what'd you think?"

[attr="class","hearmenand22"]Serena quickly grabbed her clutch and made sure the essentials were in it. Her lipstick was there in case she needed to touch up, blotting cloths, mints, body mist, her phone, a charger, her keys, and wallet. Once she made sure everything was in order she blew Cas a kiss and told him to hold down the fort. She quickly met back up with Danny and they made their way to the elevator.

The last thing she wanted to be was late to this event. Her team would never let her live it down if that was the case. Right around the time they would normally get off at the ground floor, the elevator kept going. She glanced up and flashed a look at Danny, but before she could say anything he spoke up, "no limousine tonight, unfortunately. i thought i'd drive us to the event instead."

"Oh," Serena says surprised as the elevator dings and the doors open to the parking garage. The pair made their way through the garage and Serena peered around, wondering which vehicle would be theirs. When they stopped in front of this gorgeous yellow sports car her jaw dropped a little.

Her hands ran across the smooth finishing of the hood as she made her way towards the passenger side door that Danny held open for her. "Thank you," she said as she got in taking in the interior. "what'd you think?" he asked as he shut the door and turned towards her. "Wow, Danny." she said as she looked around.

"This is really nice. How?" she asked as she looked around, "This is a GR Supra right?" She nods as she touches the dashboard. "Getting your hands on this must've been insane" She says as she glances back at him, a sparkle in her eye. "It's amazing, I love it. Thank you, for letting me experience this." she chuckled as she relaxed against the seat. She paused for a moment before reaching over to squeeze his hand. "Are you nervous?"

the favor being pulling some strings to expedite the process in getting the car into hoenn. and though he didn't pay for it himself, it is technically his, as his dad so likes to point out. one of the perks of having loving parents, he supposes.

loving and well-off.

he chuckles at her question, feigning confidence that quickly falters.

"a little. your team ran me through what to expect, though, so that was helpful. but i've never quite done this before. at least not with a partner."

She nodded, she understood. She remembered her first event she was so scared she would mess up. She got tongue tied during an interview and she thought it was the end of the world. "Yeah, it usually like that when it's your first time." she agrees. It was much easier now that she's been doing events more regularly.

"are you nervous?" he asked her as he squeezed her hand back. She offered him a smile before shrugging. "Would it make you feel better if I said yes?" she said with a chuckle. "You'll be great, Danny." she said in a softer voice. "We might need to be 'on'. More outgoing and extra because we're entertaining people but, you're a great guy and the people will see that. You'll win them over." she said as she gently patted the back of his hand.

[attr="class","danny"]her words reassure him enough. he knows he'll be fine as long as she's there with him. it's when she's inevitably pulled away and he's left to fend for himself that worries him. he pushes the thought away, saving it for later.

"right. let's get going, then."

he buckles up, brings a hand to the stick, then shifts it, starting their quick drive to the event.

soon, they arrive at the entrance. he hands over the keys to the valet, quickly worrying if they'd try and steal his car, but the flashing of cameras pull him away. he quickly circles the car, then stands by serena as she, without a doubt, takes up all the attention.

finding a moment to lean over, he whispers:

"this is new, too."

[attr="class","hearmenand22"]It wasn't a long drive to reach the event location. This charity event was an annual thing so she went just about every year she was invited. A bunch of celebrities gathered and they got to enjoy a fun evening, at the end they would choose the plethora of good Charities available to them so that they could donate. In turn it raised awareness for the local programs that worked hard all year. From the children's hospital to the pokémon abuse shelters.

Once they arrived she closed her eyes and did her ritual breathing exercise till Danny was on her side opening her door for her again. When she excited the car she had a sultry but charming smile. Seemingly different than how she was when she was relaxed, but that's just the price she had to pay when she was entertaining events.

"this is new, too." he said as he leaned to whisper in her ear. Through her smile and wave at the cameras that began to flash she spoke, "Show them your good side~" she teased as she referenced one of the first things she said to him before flashing him a wink. As they progressed down the red carpet Serena's name was called as several flashes went off in their direction.

Danny was super patient as some pictures were taking with him and some were taken without. When the last solo one was finished he held out his arm for her and she smiled and took it. "Thank you," she said softly as they approached one of the mini interviewers. She squeezed his arm reassuringly as they approached her.

"Serena! Wow, you look lovely tonight!"

"Thank you, so do you." she said with an easy smile.

The interviewer flushed a little at the compliment. "Oh stop, you're making me blush." She smoothly recovered as her eyes drifted to Danny. "And who might this handsome man be?"

Serena's free hand drifts to lovingly rest on his chest as she leans onto him for a bit. "My date for the evening. I'm sure you're acquainted." Sera's voice smooth and melodic while she handled herself gracefully with practice. For the past couple of weeks Serena had been teasing Danny on her socials. Specially cropped selfies here and there, cryptic posts about relationships. She even had him appear on her stream, only his voice, before she acted panicked and tried to 'hide him.'

It was all part of the package deal leading up to this moment. The picture that was snapped on their first meeting never saw the light of day and allowed them to execute this relatively easily. With the guidance from her team and Sera taking some creative liberties they were now here, everything was for this moment.

The interviewer touched the head piece on her ear and nodded. "Now Serena, the world is dying to know, is this your new boo?" she asked with a coy smile. Showtime. Glancing up towards Danny a soft blush crept across her face, almost on cue and she chuckled. The silence, the pause was intentional as she played around before chuckling and saying yes to the interviewer.

"Oh wow! Congratulations you two!" she exclaimed as she looked at Danny. "What a lucky guy. What's your name handsome?" she said as before hitting him with another question, "And tell us, just how did you two get together?" The money question. Her team and Danny had met several times to discuss how they would write the story of Serena and Danny meeting.

A tinder date wasn't flashy enough, though it was comical in it's own right. They wanted something to pull on the fans heartstrings, new and old. So they had practiced over the course of weeks on making sure they knew this new narrative like it was true. She glanced towards Danny now and wondered if the nerves had got to him yet, so far he was doing really well.

[attr="class","danny"]if only his best friends Greyson Connors and leo del río could see him now — they'd be ecstatic, maybe slightly envious of all the attention? the possible fame? he's actually not too sure but he likes to imagine the envy if only to feed into what little ego he has.

surprisingly, danny stays calm, cool, and even confident to an extent, through the entirety of the photoshoot all the way to the mini interview. the situation looks to be overwhelming, and though he feels the pressure of it, his desire to do this for her and to be the perfect fake boyfriend trumps all else.

plus, he'd be lying if he said this isn't the least bit fun.

he's smiling and listening when the interviewer turns to ask him a question. his name? how they'd get together? he opens his mouth to speak the truth but quickly remembers their many practices. he clears his throat, flashes a smile, then says:

"danny hall. pleasure. how did we meet?"

he pulls serena close, then leans into her as he speaks.

"we were both at a mutual friend's wedding. i remember sitting on one end of the room, and during the bride and groom's dance just looking up to see serena across the room. our eyes met and something just...sparked, you know? so i approached her, asked her to dance, and, well..."

beaming, he kisses her forehead and keeps his gaze on her, not the interviewer.

"we've been together ever since."

As he answered the question he pulled her close, his arm fitting comfortably around her waist, almost as if it was meant to be there. He answered the question flawlessly and she couldn't be more proud of how well he was doing. She really appreciated how much work and effort he was putting in for her. She'd have to let him know how grateful she was later.

Keeping her close he plants a gentle kiss on her forehead before locking gazes with her. She offered him a sweet smile as he continued, "we've been together ever since." He never once took his gaze off her, even as Serena tore hers from him to look at the interviewer who was gushing. "Aww! Aren't you two just the sweetest thing!" she said as she looked at the two of them.

"Yeah, I'm really lucky to have this guy by my side." she said as she turned to look at Danny. The interviewer was just eating this all up. Turning towards the camera she placed a hand over her heart and swayed. "Ah young love! Truly a beautiful thing." she said before turning back towards them. "Was in coincidence you two met at a wedding or fate? Only thing I know is you two are adorable so I certainly wouldn't be surprised if there were wedding bells in your future!"

The interviewer meant well, but Serena wasn't thinking that far ahead yet. She still played the part well as she made herself blush and look away from her. "Oh, I'm not sure," she said with a chuckle, "I think we're just taking our time really getting to know each other and spend time enjoying each other's presence." she answered shyly.

"Ah, as humble as ever Miss Serena. But it is true you two definitely look happy together. I won't keep you from the festivities too long. Enjoy yourselves." she said as she finally released them before turning back to the camera. "There you go folks, the first scoop on what Hoenn's sweetheart, Serena has going on in her personal life! Weren't they just the--"

As Serena and Danny made their way further away from the woman and up the stairs towards the building so that they could reach the reception hall, they were unable to hear the rest of what she said. "You're doing really great." she said as she squeezed his arm once more. "Now all we have to do is enjoy the evening and have our pictures taken." she said before a devious smile formed on her lips as she leaned in closer to him.

"But I was thinking we dip partway through. We're 'young and in love' after all. The press will eat it up." she said with a chuckle. Suggesting ditching was such a classic move. They wouldn't get in trouble since they were free to leave whenever. But leaving a cookie trail for the press to follow while the pair played with them seemed like too much of a wicked opportunity to pass up. Her team would've loved the idea had she told them earlier. Unfortunately this was spontaneous, so they would just have to wait.

[attr="class","danny"]he chuckles at the mention of a wedding, entertaining the idea while serena responds. he has always wanted to get married. he dreamed of it since he was young: married by thirty, kids a few years after that. he dreams of settling down, but for now it remains just that: a dream.

he offers the interviewer a wave, then flashes a smile into the camera before he's pulled away towards the building. when they're clear of any press, he exhales, nerves escaping.

"i'm like a natural at this, it's pretty crazy."

though he jests, it is suspiciously odd that he's yet to crack. perhaps he's enjoying this much more than he lets on.

"sounds like a plan. maybe stay close to me when we get up there. they'll eat it up even more."

he's using it as an excuse to be with her, really. the elevator dings open and they step in, doors closing behind them.

"oh. anyone i should be aware of in particular? crazy journalists or whatever?"

[attr="class","hearmenand22"]It was true, he was a natural. She noticed as such with how well he was taking all of this publicity stuff in his normal life. It'll soon affect him there, it started slowly before but now that it was out in the open about their relationship things would start to change. She just hoped he didn't end up regretting all of this, the sudden change was a lot.

But for now, everything seemed to be going well. He handled all the meetings and the ridiculous amount of guidelines and last minute changes and adjustments on his part due to her team, extremely well. She was proud of him and above all super thankful to have someone like him by her side. She didn't lie about that part to the interviewer.

"sounds like a plan. maybe stay close to me when we get up there. they'll eat it up even more." he says with a charming smile. Serena chuckled as she offered a small shrug. "I'll try my best. But people are really needy up there. Always crying for my attention." she was referring to journalist and other celebrities that wanted to chat things up with her. She might get separated from him just a bit but she'll always have an eye on him. Leaving him alone felt like leaving a bleeding animal in shark infested waters. She didn't feel comfortable leaving him on his own.

Serena patted his arm as she gave him a reassuring smile as the pair stepped into the elevator. "Don't worry though. I'll be looking out for you. I won't be far." she said with a nod. There was no avoiding the inevitable, but she could at least try to make it as painless as possible. "oh. anyone i should be aware of in particular? crazy journalists or whatever?" Danny asked her as the doors closed and the elevator began taking them to the upper levels.

"Hmm, good question." In general, Serena is wary of reporters. Only a few she knows that strive to tell the truth. Other's always have ulterior motives so it was safe to assume her words could be twisted from them. With practice she learned how to handle them but she wasn't sure how Danny would fare. "Reporters are pretty scary so keep a sharp eye out for them. You can usually tell the bad ones from the good ones." she said as she continued to tap her finger on her chin.

"Other than that, I'm not sure." she said as she glanced back towards him. "I'll come over to save you if you're in any danger though." she said with a cheeky grin. "I've got you, babe." she said as she playfully winked at him. The doors to the elevator opened to the reception hall that was filled with music as a live band played. Serena straightened up once again before glancing over towards him, "Shall we?"

it's more than enough to calm his nerves. he exhales, nods, then leans in for a quick kiss, smiling after.

"let's."

danny lingers near the elevator and simply watches serena disappear into the crowd, admiring for moments before breaking into a grin. he laughs to himself, tearing his gaze away.

right.

he steels himself, then enters the reception hall. he strolls through, making decent amount of eye contact with people, offering them smiles, nods, but he keeps mostly to himself. he reaches for a glass of champagne, picks it off a tray, and sips for liquid courage.

just in time for someone to approach him. he turns to face them, oblivious as he flashes her a smile.

"hey there."

As promised she always lingered close by, occasionally stealing a glance over to him and offering a warm smile when their eyes managed to connect. She felt bad about leaving him on his own but this was just business. She was sure he understood.

Meanwhile, someone else also had their eyes set on Danny, and they did not have the purest of intentions. The dark haired woman swirled the wine around in her glass as she watched him from across the room. He was the talk of the room, whether he knew it or not. It would seem little Serena had a new pet. After polishing off the rest of her wine she licked her lips as a wicked smirk formed on her lips. 'I wonder how he tastes.'

Getting up from where she was reclining she brushed off her dress and sauntered over to her target. Serena was always a little too green. She probably didn't even know how to handle a man properly. It was a shame he was going to waste by her side. She chuckled to herself as she made her way over to him.

She'd never liked Serena ever since she laid eyes on her. She was trying too hard and actually managing to get results. Was she even serious about showbiz? Vivi had lived her like sacrificing to get to where she was. Just for some snot-nosed brat that came from nowhere to come in and steal her spotlight. Vivi couldn't handle people like that.

"Enjoying the festivities?" she asked Danny with a sweet smile on her lips. "Shame to experience it by yourself." she said with another smile as she extended a hand towards him. "I'm Vivienne, and you are?" she asked as she leaned closer to him.
