Okay, Cardamom had finally gotten her parents to give her a starter and agree to letting her explore more on her own, but that didn't mean she wanted to immediately go off somewhere too far from home. Her parents had seemed a little relieved when she mentioned that, although they'd still told Banana Bread and Half-Moon to follow after her just in case.[break][break]
Shin had immediately headed ahead of the rest of the group once they got out to the route, darting ahead and running back and forth looking through the bushes for anything that might have been dropped. Half-Moon stuck close behind Cardamom as they traveled on, with Banana Bread walking slightly ahead and keeping an eye on the tiny Teddiursa to make sure he didn't get himself into too much mischief.[break][break]
Meanwhile, Cardamom was just enjoying the general atmosphere of the route. True, she'd been by this way with her parents before, but there was something different about traveling out here on her own, with empty Pokeballs at her belt and ready to be put to use."So," she said, stretching slightly as she looked over at Half-Moon, "what kind of Pokemon do you think we might find out here?"

Shin, rummaging among the grass, finally found a mushroom. He immediately dived to scoop it up, only to find it stuck faster than he'd expected. He started tugging and pulling, until finally he pulled it free of the grass...revealing the very angry Paras attached to it. It immediately lashed out, latching onto his paw with its mandibles, Absorbing his energy and making him cry out in pain. Instantly, Half-Moon sprang into action, rushing forwards and yowling loudly, waving her claws to attract the Paras in her direction.[break][break]
It did release Shin, now charging at the creature that dared to Taunt it, and Half-Moon met it head on with a Headbutt even as it neared her. The Paras was sent flying, bouncing off the ground several times before landing flat on its back. As Cardamom was about to breathe a sigh of relief, it popped back up and started charging at Half-Moon once more. She snarled, drawing back a claw, before Cardamom reached out to place a hand on her arm.[break][break]
"Wait a moment," she said, taking out an empty Pokeball. "Let me try catching it?" Half-Moon huffed, but drew back and let her trainer take her place, hurling the Pokeball forwards and watching it spin through the air to impact and hopefully capture the Paras.
