Maybe that singing had drawn out more of the…pacifist Pokémon that dwelled in this area of Shoal Cave?

Normally he’d be attacked right about now by some Ice-type he already owned, however this was a sight to see as there was another Amaura that was wandering nearby.

“Oh. Looking for your family?” he said, before the Amaura let out a startled noise, which made him hold his hands up.

“I’m not going to hurt you. Go back to your companions now,” he gestured as he skirted around the dual-type, before leaving it behind and going down another path he’d not taken yet.

The next thing he encountered almost made him guffaw so hard, he almost smacked into a stalagmite because he wasn’t looking.

He’d heard about the goofy-looking Pokémon that existed from other regions, and he’d already seen the…younger form of this one, a particular one that had given him much trouble because it kept going off like a flash grenade.

He wasn’t sure if he was being mocked or something.

“Go on—go now!” he said, waving at the Vanillish, before giving it as wide of a berth as possible just in case it started throwing out attacks at his face.

The last thing that would catch his attention—

Sadly while it was something he already had, he knew that there were people who were looking for this Pokémon.

The Frosmoth hovered lazily mid-air, giving him one single look before turning away—wow, turning away?!

‘Rude.’

“I know, right?” he agreed. For once, Lars and the deity were on the same wavelength pattern…

‘You know I don’t like being sassed like that! Well, being sassed by anything else!’

“So what do you want me to do?” he said with a soft chuckle.

‘Do whatever you have to.’

With that, he reached into his jacket pocket before pulling out a Moon Ball and tossing it forward, watching as Alpha the Lucario emerged.

“One shot,” was all he said, before the Frosmoth turned around again—and unleashed an attempt at a Blizzard attack. Since the weather was not hail, the attack obviously missed—allowing the Lucario to barrel-roll forward before conjuring up a point-blank Aura Sphere and smashing it into the Frosmoth’s face.

“Alph, really?” he said with a chuckle as the Frosmoth attempted to counter with a piercing, distracting Bug Buzz.

While both human and the Lucario clapped their hands (or paws) over their ears, the Lucario was faster—aiming a Brick Break at the Frosmoth to stop the Arceus-awful discordant noise.

Before the Frosmoth could hit the frozen ground of Shoal Cave, Lars threw an empty Pokéball at it.
