So the tournament had drawn his attention—

While he wasn’t here to fight, he was definitely here to take in the sights, maybe interview a few people or two and have a write-up for Vantage done during the event.

Now, one of the ‘special events’ that were being hosted was literally—come down and wreck a car within a time limit.

He was sure that some of his companions needed to stretch their legs, however he knew he owed it to his Cinderace as the Fire-type had been looking for a serious scrap ever since.

So here he was, looking at the car that had been brought over from the local junk yard, and with his Fire-type beside him.

“Well, what’re you waiting for? You wanted to smash something, right? Go on!” he said, waving the Cinderace forward as the Fire-type rocketed forward with a Flame Charge into the vehicle.

"This your idea of a cute date?" Artie pouted, huffing, hand on his hip. "Seriously, Addy. You should step up your game."

[break][break] How had Artie ended up here, yet again? No one would know. Maybe Adam had indeed dragged him here like seemed to be implied. Maybe Artie had just appeared out of seemingly thin air.

[break][break] After all, he was the heir to the Circhester throne, the only son in a long, long line of girls. He had broken boundaries then — why not now?

[break][break] Anything was possible, right?

[break][break] "Alright, Hades, let's go!" On command, the Roserade stepped forward and launched a PETAL DANCE. Beautiful flowers sprouted from the seemingly lifeless undergrowth, light sprawling from the grass-type's form. It was breathtaking, almost, the way the pink petals fluttered around both Artie and his pokemon, before turning sharp like knives and crashing into the aforementioned vehicle.

“How’d you end up here?!” were the first words out of his mouth the moment Adam registered the all-too-familiar voice that had addressed him.

Willing himself not to turn around, he whistled sharply in his Cinderace’s direction, before flicking his fingers exactly once. Dashing backwards, the Fire-type then found a stray pebble and kicked it up, watching as it transformed into a large, flaming projectile before the Pyro Ball was thrown forward.

As the blazing ball that burned brightly smashed into another side of the car, he decided to address the situation.

“What makes you think this is a date?” he blurted out once he’d managed to organize his thoughts.

“I’m here on assignment!”

Oh wow. Adam Lycaon hadn't invited him here? Strange. How had Artie ended up in this place after all? A junkyard was hardly the place you expected to find a prince.

[break][break] The rabbit's flames licked up the petal dance from earlier, causing the air to taste vaguely of charcoal and smoke. This only seemed to irritate Hades — he hardly liked being the one to be shown up. Twirling once more, he raised his flower arms. The bouquets glowed brilliantly before a bubbling TOXIC liquid began to sprawl among the rocks holding the car up, hissing and growling with effort as the vehicle shook underneath this sudden shift.

[break][break] Meanwhile, Artie is happy to quip back, "What makes you think it isn't?" His own question drowns out the exclamation of the other.

“Bold of you to assume,” he remarked as the Cinderace looked at him once more for guidance.

“What are you waiting for? I already told you, you can go nuts with that! Release all that pent-up rage on the car!”

Somehow, though, it was like the Cinderace could smell Adam’s distress from a literal mile away. However, the Fire-type decided against it and this time approached the car from the back and aimed a Double Kick at the trunk, in an attempt to smash it open and leave it gaping wide for him to set ablaze.

If it was legal to commit a crime right now, Adam would’ve lynched the daylights out of Artie right then and there. Instead, though, he decided to keep his focus on the car.

“Well, do you have a job? I’m here to cover the event. Even if it’s just a part-time gig I have,” he remarked a few moments later.

Because from his observation, Artie didn’t seem to look like he’d worked a single day in his life!

"Oh, thanks! Mom says something similar too." Artie grins, oblivious to the other's insult. As far as he's concerned, boldness is a compliment.

[break][break] It was only the heroes who were bold, were brazen, were courageous. What was the point of being cowardly?

[break][break] Plumes of smoke rise up from the vehicle as Adam Lycaon 's Cinderace smashes it to smitheerens. For his part, Hades is doing a delightful job. He uses GRASS TERRAIN which launches a pelt of grass right beneath the boys' feet, as well as beneath the car. Even though Cinderace was causing death and destruction did not mean it could not look beautiful.

[break][break] Vines slither out from the grass terrain, wrapping around the car's wheels, keeping it in place long enough for the bunny to knock it's lights out.

[break][break] "Job?" Artie tilted his head, confusion riddling his gaze. "Why would I have a job?"

[break][break] Adam Lycaon was cute, but honestly a little dumb. Oh, peasants.

“What do you mean ‘job’?” he blinked a few moments afterward as the Cinderace then moved away, satisfied at the damage it had caused before kicking up another pebble and setting it on fire.

“Don’t tell me you’re one of those ‘rich kids’ who hasn’t done a single day of work in their lives?!” he exclaimed a few moments alter as the small pebble that was set aflame grew into another Pyro Ball before it was blasted towards the windshield of the car.

“That’s impossible, how the bloody hell would you not know what work is—” he stammered, flabbergasted at the other man’s lack of… well, it appeared he didn’t care a bloody shit at all about where to get money to support himself!
