she lets the silence hang between them briefly to catch their breath. fluffy beats her wings forcefully, bringing herself to land squarely and perch on her shoulders with a chirp that sounds more like a croak.

she adjusts her posture to accommodate the weight of her massive fossil bird, eyeing the eggs clustered in this cramped area. "let's clear it out," she instructs, "some tarp and rope to put it all together. we should be able to do a bit of relocation."

the spider web snags her down briefly, but fluffy's thrashing lets her snake her head out, another burst of dragonbreath singeing through the web with ease. it illuminates the dark shadows, the crimson body of the male now visible.

"easy! we don't want to burn the whole place down," she warns the archeops, all the while trying to untangle themselves from the remaining web with her utility knife.

sticky webs fall onto a raised arm that shields him from being completely trapped by it. he grunts, pushing it away which only seems to bring the side of the webs in. they stick to his jacket, his pants, and his politoed.[break][break]

"shit—albert, give me a hand!"[break][break]

flashes of yellow do little to pull him away from the webs; henry zipping and zapping as he fights the ariados. darren reaches for a knife and begins to cut themselves loose.

gripping her knife tightly, she saws the sharp edge through the spider web, wrestling them out of it. fluffy rapidly gains on the ariados, weaving in and out between each zap henry sends forward to jab at the creature. her claws take large swipes at them, eliciting squeals of pain.

the writhing slows until it succumbs, falling flat on the ground. fluffy stalks it like a vulture.

"no idea. we keep going till it's done."

she pauses to check on her archeops. still doing fine, for the most part. "did they give us any repellent sprays? we could use that to try and drive them out from the apartment, at least." they've got their work cut out for them, that much is for sure.
