Pale powdered skin and soft red blush is what the women of the aristocracy deemed 'flawless skin'. The men in that world of royal titles and wealth hardly thought any different. Some scars might be grim medals of war carved into flesh, yes, but a dignified noble was expected to keep those hidden. Only the kind that shone silver or gold, ribbons and badges pinned on left lapels, were to be presented for the world to see.[break][break]

He had not assumed that Siobhan shared the same sensibilities as the women of the aristocracy he'd grown up with, of course. She was a child of the Glimwood Tangle, after all. But he had cared to gather her thoughts on them regardless, if only to further understand her interest in his.[break][break]

Ody swims around Siobhan as she wrings out her hair. Remiel looks for a moment, then tears his eyes away as he smoothly swims towards the pool's edge. Within seconds, he's arrived. Leaning against it with his back, and casting an arm across it, he relaxes for a moment as his mind digests her words. "That's fair. It takes a sensible mind to acknowledge that."[break][break]

Cobalt eyes drift towards the ceiling as he lolls his head back. Then, suddenly, he's thankful she can't see his face either as he blinks with mild surprise and confusion. "I... I don't see why, but thank you." He clears his throat after a pause, not daring to look back up at her just yet.[break][break]

he was unconvinced about his own scars, she noticed. perhaps due to his royal lineage, where any blemish was taken offensively instead of celebrated. she says nothing more, watching the Buizel circle her. she lifts one hand from the water and touches the otter as it rolls by, relishing it's soft but oil-sleek fur. the Corsola bounces from the water's depths, splashing all involved.

"you're obviously better now" she smiles at it. while they could stay in the pool all day, she was famished from the work-out. why did swimming give one an appetite? the lifeguard begins to pull them all in, an hour or so passed. rehabilitation was a lengthy process. it didn't just happen in one session. best to pace yourself. the Corsola may look fine but it had a while to go.

at least it could swim.

wading through the water, Siobhan would pull herself out of the pool. bending over, she helped the Corsola splash onto the tiled floor before picking it up again. "coming?" she says to Remiel and Buizel "you'll get all wrinkly if you stay in for much longer."

Remiel casually watches her as she exits the pool, delicate to grab the Corsola and set it down on the tiled floor beyond. He doesn't expect her to turn and welcome him along with her, of course, and blinks with surprise when, in fact, she does.[break][break]

Unfortunately, at the sound of this, the Galarian children playing at the deep end of the pool collectively groan and plead. "But you promised you'd show us how to play water polo! Mr. Calcifet, you're not leaving, are you?!"[break][break]

Remiel sighs, turning over his shoulder to regard the children with an assuring wave. "It would appear I'm doomed to wrinkled skin for a while longer," He responds, a half-smile on his face as he turns back to her. "But aren't we all, in the end?"[break][break]

The Buizel doesn't seem to care or agree as it continues to swim circles around him in all of its lively fervor.[break][break]
