First things first—how was she going to tackle the problem of so many Water-types if she didn’t use a single Electric-type Pokémon?

Simple: there were other ways and means to do so!

Calling our her two best, the Braviary took to the skies for aerial recon while the Gardevoir stayed close, her slightly different coloration standing out from most everything else.

“Let me know when you—” she trailed off, before realizing that Momo had spotted something not too far away in one of the nearby marshy areas…

How the hell did a Wailmer find itself all the way out here? So strange.

A sudden shrieking noise alerted her that Sora was coming in with a dive-bomb style Aerial Ace attack, shredding away at the Wailmer while it let out a cry of surprise before attempting to catch it in a Whirlpool.

“Sora, really?” she said with a grin before the Braviary shot back skyward, narrowly avoiding the vortex of water. A few moments later, a sudden blast of lunar energy knocked the Wailmer airborne—the Moonblast from the Gardevoir giving the Braviary enough time to drag it airborne with a Sky Drop attack.

Okay, how was a Flying-type supposed to carry something as heavy as a—

Never mind that, the Wailmer came crashing down—before it could hit the ground, a Safari Ball was thrown.

The next thing that Izumi saw not too long after she’d managed to catch the Wailmer was—

Wait, wasn’t this one of those weird fish that Josh owned? How one could become many in a single go? Either way… the little Wishiwashi looked like it was having the time of its life, and she decided to spare it and show mercy.

One of them between her and Josh was enough, apparently—two would be way too much, not to mention absolutely chaotic!

She also remembered a horror story involving her and this tiny little Pokémon from the time she’d gone on their honeymoon in the Alola region.

It was—absolutely nuts, really.

Either way, she left the Wishiwashi alone and continued on her way, the Braviary having taken off back into the skies once again; the Gardevoir joining her once again as they moved forward.

It was a sign of things to come as they continued to wade through the area, looking for that one elusive Pokémon that they’d missed on their previous visit.

A loud screeching noise from up above drew her attention—and the Gardevoir also spotted it before she was able to turn her attention in time to see the Dratini—

Who had decided to charge at the Gardevoir with a Dragon Rush attack.

Okay maybe that wasn’t the best idea, seeing as Gardevoir were not completely and totally immune to Dragon-type moves—

“Oh boy,” was all she had time to say before backing away, as there was this mischievous glint in her long-time partner’s eyes.

The Gardevoir then affixed her stare on the Dratini, who was very surprised to see that its best attack had done jack-ass squat on the taller, more graceful Pokémon.

The Braviary circled above, itching to dive, but a single glare from Izumi made Sora stay up in the sky—this was between the Gardevoir and the Dratini.

The area between the two Pokémon turned pink as a Misty Terrain spread from where the Gardevoir stood, and right as the Dratini had decided to throw a Thunder Wave at her—

It did jack squat.

It did jack squat on the Gardevoir!

Cackling, the shiny Gardevoir then unleashed one singular Moonblast, the lunar energy catching the Dratini just as it tried to Slam its serpentine little body into the other—

As the lunar energy faded, Izumi chuckled before throwing a Safari Ball at the Dratini.

Once the Dratini had been captured in the Safari Ball (and whisked away to storage) a loud scuttling noise caught her attention—and something very nearly fell on her face.

She let out a scream, which then caused the Braviary tailing them to come in with a dive-bomb attack, picking up the Wimpod in his large claws before attempting a Sky Drop attack.

“What the fuck was that?!” she said, aghast as she tried to catch her breath as Momo looked skyward to the cackling speck of a Braviary who then proceeded to drop the screaming Wimpod to the ground.

A blast of rainbow-colored Psychic energy caught the Wimpod as it fell, giving it next to no time to do anything except use a Defense Curl attack in mid-air while the Gardevoir and the Braviary tag-teamed the damned thing.

Eventually, something would come crashing at her feet, all dizzy and passed out—

“What the hell did you two do,” she said as she cracked a smirk in the direction of the Braviary—who let out a derisive snort—and the Garedvoir, who merely shrugged (but smirked her way) as she threw another Safari Ball.

Time was growing short…
