In all honestly, when Kaida received the request to train a fellow Ranger, it gave her pause. Who and what decided that she was an appropriate trainer for anybody but Pokemon? "Not a mistake?" She mumbled to Ormr, the stoic Ekans about as surprised as she was...it couldn't be a mistake, perhaps they should be proud they were so trustworthy?

Rustboro it was, then.

Kaida carried two Pokeballs as she entered the park, immediately looking around and grumbling intelligibly at the public attention. Unlike Zola, she operated best in silence and solitary when training, but she supposed she should manage. She was trustworthy.

She had picked her Pokemon carefully, nothing as grand as a Luxray or Charizard (She doubted any human could reliably "battle" some powerful Pokemon, but the idea was possible, she supposed), instead, she brought Garmr, a Snubble, Dain, a Scyther she could trust to not seriously injure her charge, and her usual partner, Ormr wrapped around her shoulders. Even still, she was certain even Garmr could handle a human, fire and ice tended to dispatch fragile humans just fine and Dain? One Slash could be deadly to most humans. Let it be known that, in battle, she trusted all her partners to dispatch the enemy as fast as possible.

Entering the park, she paused a moment, clarifying she had found Zola, and stepped forward, "You're Zola, correct? Greetings. I'm Kaida." Short but polite, she inclined her head at the other Ranger, briefly pulling her lips up in the semblance of a smile.

"Mmm, it's my job." Kaida answered easily, taking the outstretched hand in a quick greeting before suddenly pointing at the Ekans at her shoulder, "This is Ormr. Don't worry. He can help." She was no stranger to the oddity of her most trusted partner, but refused to shake the habit of bringing him nearly everywhere, and treated him like at any moment he might just pipe up and talk.

A slight red came to her cheeks as her pride swelled at the reasoning, she didn't doubt her own abilities, but it was nice to get recognition on it. Her seriousness returned however, as Zola stated her own want for training, followed by an idea for training. "You don't actually want to beat a Pokemon, not really." She started to explain, tossing out one of her Pokeballs. "My Pokemon don't hesitate, but they won't try and kill you...without asking me. Others don't do that." She still remembered how quick and suddenly her life had ended, fighting a Pokemon, truly? Ridiculous.

A Scyther emerged in a flash of white, red joints under his green armor intensifying the dangerous aura of a Scyther. "This is Dain. He's a good hunter. Fighter too." She left it unsaid how most Scyther were agile warriors, assuming another Ranger would know. "He can be careful not to cut you bad, if you want." Sensing the other woman nearby, and hearing Kaida, Dain jerked towards Nola and hissed, wings buzzing ominously, "Do not bite hard, Dain." She didn't need a Ranger severe injury on her when she was asked to do this.

Then you die. Kaida silently answered Zola's hypothetical scenario (even with Pokemon you were still likely to be killed in battle), but settled for a small shrug and a "Very well then. Defend yourself."

Dain squared up with Zola, tilting his head in a predatory manner as his wings buzzed invisibly fast, "No. You hit him if you can. Hard. This is training." Kaida quickly countered Zola's idea of feinting a punch, "Hit near the eyes if you can." If she wanted to fight a Pokemon, then fight. If Dain got hurt from fighting a human, then he clearly needed better hunting skills anyway.

She...barked, for lack of a better word, a simple, harsh sound that rung through the air...and Dain moved. His gleaming scythes launched forward, moving to slash at the woman's leg, scythe slightly angled to not cut through.

The Scyther squawked as he found a weight on his arm, glaring at the offending woman before starting to flap his wings energetically, trying to pull back, preferably pulling the woman with him in a well-timed Agility. Should she throw her punch, she'd find it grazing the side of the Scyther's head, a win if anything else.

The Scyther didn't stop, however, following immediately by raising his arms up to bring them down on the woman...another perk of Pokemon, Kaida found, they rarely lost performance even as a battle went on, unlike most humans.

Dain grumbled as his scythes failed to strike true, turning his head angrily only to be met with the kick, which only seemed to infuriate him more, as his head jerked back in shock. Suddenly, Kaida raised her voice, "One more, Dain." She wondered if Zola would land her wanted punch, though that wondering stopped as Dain's figure seemed to wobble. Double Team.

A trick of movement, of speed, and suddenly it appeared that there were quadruple of the Syther, and all leapt forward. He angled his scythe like a punch...it seemed that kick had hurt the Scyther's pride just a little too much, and he wanted to rub it in with this blow.

Dain stopped as the Pikachu blocked his path, pacing back and forth before cooking his head at Kaida. She wasn't saying anything about this, now what? "I suppose we're done." She spoke up, beckoning the Scyther, who snorted petulantly, "Don't get hit next time then." She answered the Pokemon as if it had talked, before turning to Zola.

"...You're Pikachu is good you know. Protected you fast." She actually smiled fondly at the electric mouse before suddenly frowning, eyes falling to the ground, "You're a bit of a fool, though...asking someone who died how to survive." She didn't think it was much of a secret. Most civilians already knew of her death (she suspected the "surprise" wearing off diluted her fame by now), and thus the words poured easily from her mouth, not at all taking into account if expected or not. "But you did good, hitting Dain."

"I'm nobody important." Kaida mumbled, though a spark of light in her eyes did signal a sort pride at the praise, "I'm glad I didn't leave my family without a leader." Surely, Ormr would take over just fine, but there was no way they could be a Ranger's team without her. She didn't like the idea of them being split up and given to other people. Speaking of Ormr, the serpent had dropped off her shoulders and, if Kaida had to guess, was currently lecturing the young Scyther with hisses...she supposed the Scyther hadn't hunted well at all.

"We all need to learn. Never stop. Because enemiesare always learning too." Her ominous words were suddenly cut off by a friendly, "I'm glad to talk to you too...I hope to work with you again." For one of the first times, she skipped over her first idea for her words, I hope you survive, for that was a given now, wasn't it?
