“I hope you’ve enjoyed it as well so far.”

Fernando relies on a duet as well. Two Meowstics, one male and one female, appear on his side of the field as they stare down their opponents. Unlike Raziel Beckett’s Salem, these Meowstic prove less personable when paired together.

They crave combat.

HER PROCLAIMATION TO STEAL AWAY THE FIRST MOVE IS MET WITH A FIRM NOD. He can afford her that much with how the standings look currently. After all, how rude would it be for him to be the reason Zac Ramsay shaves her bald and sneaking an attack right out from under her.

“Battle routine set!”

The Meowstics extend their hands as the command rouses them from their eerie standstill.

“Execute!”

The OVERDRIVE crashes right as Fernando grants them permission to act. Radiate soundwave of blue and yellow electricity spark as both Pokemon are berated by the crass vibrations. They share a momentary glance between each other before running forward, blinking in place, as they each appear under a respective Toxcritiy to deliver matching FAKE OUTS.

THE FLINCH BUYS THEM TIME. Just enough for both Meowstics to release a YAWN in front of their respective targets.

Both Pokemon in this mirror match reflect each other perfectly. While Fernando’s aren’t trained to his own brand standard, their synchronization is born from their shared blood. He’s made a wise choice in pairing them together throughout their lifetime. Every since he’s poached both of these felines from the safari zone.

ONE IS GOOD ENOUGH. As long as a single YAWN takes effect then the battle will lean their way.

“Focus fire the awake on.”

While the other sleeps the other will have to stave off both Meowstics. Even though Fernando prefers his Pokemon to battle as they please this is an opportunity he cannot allow them to pass up. Both stares at their only foe as it openly berates them.

Their reply is simple: a PSYSHOCK and PSYCHIC BLAST to boot.

CONFUSION COMES FROM UNTIMELY COMPLIMENTS. Why would their opponent suddenly bolster their ego? A surge of confidence paints the male Mewostic in several shades of crimson, undoing the pairs dynamic as their timing is thrown off.

BOOMBURST tears the space between them as concussive blast blow them back. One of them sends our several MAGICAL LEAVES while the other one hurts itself trying to attack after being dizzied from the sound waves.

GHASTLY FLAMES FLICKER FROM UNDERNEATH. A strong HEX constrains the CONFUSED Mewostic as it mews in pain. Such an attack renders it unable to move as the supernatural energies rip across its fur.

The other Meowstic retaliates with a sudden bolt of lightning. The CHARGE BEAM may lack power but its speed makes it a quick call back to energize the source. Psychic powers start to circulate at a higher level as the Pokemon crackles with electricity.

THE PAIR’S ATTACK TURNS THE TIPPING POINT. Fernando’s Meowstic can give them a run for their money but it becomes abundantly apparent that the match will prove to be a tight finish. When the time comes, he recalls his Pokemon preemptively, satisfied.

“Looks like your win,” he declares. He has no intention of allowing his Pokemon to be beaten into submission when a clear outcome can be determined.

“And a good match.”
