As the siblings continued on their quest for fried food, Nash suddenly froze, sniffing the air before crouching and growling. A yellow streak darted past, and he lunged for it, chasing and zigzagging after it. Behind him, Bam rushed off as well, the two Pokemon darting surprisingly gracefully between everyone's legs before simultaneously striking down the tiny yellow lizard, who was unable to outrun both of the speeding Pokemon.[break][break]
Once that was handled, the two headed back, Nash holding the fainted Helioptile in his jaws. Luke chuckled, leaning down to pet him on the head. "Good job, boy," he said. "Now drop it, okay?" The Absol seemed to purr for a bit at the praise, before releasing the stunned Electric-type and batting at it a bit until it shakily got back to its feet and scampered away. Cardamom laughed a bit when he saw Bam pouting, and reached out to give her a similar affectionate pat.[break][break]
"You did good too, girl," he noted. "Now come on, I think I see some corn dogs for sale over there!" With a smile, the group rushed off in the direction of the greasy, well-battered smell.

Soon, the siblings had collected a collection of corndogs in various sizes (their Pokemon also wanted some, of course), and were walking along nibbling on them. Eventually they came to a spot where there was less of a crowd, as well as a convenient wall for the siblings to sit down on. Grinning, Luke plopped down on the wall, Cardamom hopping up to sit beside him. Bam and Shin quickly wriggled their way onto the wall as well, Shin instantly reaching out to grab his teddy-sized corndog. Half-Moon stayed mostly standing, though she did lower herself into more of a squatting position so her head was still aligned with theirs.[break][break]
Nash stayed curled up at their feet, though he did reach up to grab a stickless corndog in his teeth, tearing and ripping at it with fervor. As Cardamom closed his eyes and lifted his corndog to bite into it, though, he suddenly found himself biting down on nothing but thin air. Opening his eyes, he saw his corndog floating away, being carried by a strange blue glow.[break][break]
"Hey!" he exclaimed, scrambling to his feet and looking around to see what was going on. "Who's doing that?" Nash had instantly sprang to all fours, growling low and scraping his claws against the pavement. Half-Moon was also instantly on alert, looking around and snarling softly as she tried to track the flying corndog. However, in the end, it was Bam who, after focusing, managed to pinpoint the location of the corndog thief. Leaping into the air, she grabbed hold of a floating Metang's claw, letting out several yips to signal she'd found the thief.[break][break]
"Wow, I wasn't expecting that," muttered Luke as he looked up at the sky. The Metang was gripping the corndog in its other claw, slowly mashing it against its face.[break][break]
"Awwww...I think it's just confused," murmured Luke. He placed a hand on Nash's head as the Absol crouched to lunge. "It's okay, boy," he said, looking up at the Metang. "Hey there!" he called, waving. "Sorry for bothering you, but that belongs to my little bro! But I can totally buy something for you if you come along with us." The Metang let out a few confused beeps, before slowly floating downwards towards them, Bam hopping off to land lightly on the wall. Slowly, it held out the now-mushed corndog to Cardamom, who accepted it carefully.[break][break]
"You know," he added, "we've got more treats back where our parents are waiting. Want to come along and meet them?" He held out a Pokeball gently, offering it up carefully.
