Maverick had a late start in the tournament so he had a lot of ground to cover in a short amount of time. After taking a small break to get somethings taken care of, he thought that this tournament would be a good kick in the rear to get things going again. The man had an many pokemon that still need some good old practice.

His warm gaze fell upon the man as he greeted him, giving him a casual shrug of his shoulders. “I’m down for whatever,” he replied blankly, reaching into his pockets to grab several spheres, “Let’s just wing it and see what happens I guess.”

With that, the man released a creature with a simply press of a button. The alolan marowak scrapped each end of his bone on his skull, lighting each end with flames. He twirled the bone before him, ready to fight. The man moved a distance away from the man before turning, Azula by his side. “The name is Maverick by the way. You can have first move- What was your name?”

The burnt scared man gave him a nod followed by a mumbled “Cheers.” Eyes gaze upon the two creature Kaz summoned, admiring the dragon and weary about the other. Being a dragon lover himself, he knew what to expect from the hakamo-o but the mimikyu was another story. Either way, the trainer got the hint as he motioned to Azula to join the fight. Of course, the massive hell hound didn’t not hesitate as she stepped forward to join the fight. She needed to work on her team fighting anyway.

Kaz wasted time in making his move. Maverick silently applaud him before being wise in accepting his generous offer. A smirk tugged the edge of his lips as the thrill of battling rushed through him. Oh Arceus, how he loved to battle. “Azula, take it with Counter. Ozai, counter with Shadow Bone.”

The hell hound’s body becomes outlined in orange glow and absorbed the scales only to send them back at her opponent with twice the amount of damage if it hits.

Ozai twirled his flame bone, eyes narrowed as the scales was hurt his way. Much like bating practice, the creature tried to smack the scales as they came his way. The first was hit on the mark, forcing the scale to dissipate upon contact. However, there was too many all at once and a few send him back as they hit. Pain rippled through him, but he would not let that knock him out. Taking a deep breath, the creature launched himself forward with the hopes of using his SHADOW BONE on hakammo-o anywhere he could.

The battle had started with a bang. Azula tried to counter the dragon attack’s, sending it back at it with twice the amount of damaging effect. The dragon was swift. A barrier like bubble materialized right before the attack it. No matter. It didn’t matter. “Azula, keep the heat. Don’t back down. It can’t hide behind a barrier forever.”

The canine nose scrunched, peeling back her lips to reveal her pearly whites. A vile snarl ripped through her throat, muzzle slowly parted as a thick poisonous substance dripped form her mouth. She glared at the dragon, not intimidated by the creature. She’s had battle more dangerous creature then this. Her muzzle burst open, multiple globs of brown sludge erupted from her and was aimed for the dragon. If the SLUDGE BOMB did not hit directly, she was opening some would either poison the beast or slow it down enough for her to get a few good hits on it.

While Azula faced the beast, Ozai somehow managed to hit the little ghost with this flame bone. When he hit it, the creature sudden shifted from its weird knock off pikachu disguise. The creature blinked, confused as suddenly a copy of his bone appeared and waddled at him. His ability CURSED BODY activated upon contact though the hit sent him flying back several feet away with a thud. Maverick rolled his eyes. He expected the creature to need more training, but seriously. “Get back on your feet,” he barked, “Don’t hesitate.”

The alolan marowak got to his feet swiftly. He growled, twirling his flame bone. The flames intensified, running towards the creepy ghost creature. Soon, his whole body became engulfed into flames. He hoped to FLARE BLITZ the creature and maybe cause a burn. But this move, was costly. The more damage he did to his opponent, he would receive damage to hisemlf as well.

The sensation of success washed over her as the thick toxic substance hit its mark. However, Azula was well versed in the art of battling. She knew it wasn’t the time to celebrate her first good move. Her ruby eyes were locked on the dragon, anticipating for a rebuttal. Even as the sphere of aura launched in her direction, she turned to dodge. She could almost feel the immense energy that dragon put out as they balls crashed into the ground behind her, one managing to hit closer then she thought. It knocked her off her feet, only allowing a few other aura’s took hit.

She let out a series of yelps, the ache of the blast made her muscles sore as she got to her feet as quickly as she good. She let out a menacing sound of snarls. Her breath was heavy, boat ached. But, the canine’s wasted no time. A heat built up swiftly in her gut, soon consuming her and beckoned to escape. Her muzzle parted, a large fire symbol erupted from her and aimed at her dragon opponent in hopes that the FIRE BLAST would hit. She knew dragon was partly immune to fire, but she needed a moment and this would be a great distraction.

The two pokemon collided, the mimikyu taking the hit before it extend its claw out to attack. The flare blitz made the creature unable to move fast enough away, body took on a low colored hue of red of ENDEAVOR to take the shadow claw hit. Despite the buff, pain still rippled through him as his eyes turned red and a rage filled him. He hoped the creature could feel his pain, the move forcing his opponent to low in health to match his. Ozai was going to win. He needs to win to prove himself to his master.

Auzla managed to hit the dragon with her fiery breath. But much like before, the pesky dragon through up a barrier to block her attack. The massive six foot seven canine let a minacious snarl, blood colored orbs glared angrily at the dragon. If it had to use a barrier to protect itself, then clearly the dragon was weak. The canine lifted her nose to the air, scenting the dragon and memorizing his scent with the ODOR SLEUTH so her next attack won’t miss. “Azula,” her master growled, forcing the canine to glimpse back, “it's time.” Her gaze saw the man tap his temple where the mega stone was hidden. This excited her.

Turning back the dragon, Azula throw her head back. A eerie howl filled the area as she let the mega stone connected to her consume her. And within flash of light and a blink of an eye, the stronger mega evolved canine was present. The mega creature could feel a new wave of power consume her, letting out more throated snarl at her opponent. What did he think of her now? She bared her teeth, waiting to see how the dragon would handle a more formidable foe. Maverick let his gaze flickered to his opponent’s trainer, hoping he didn’t mind a little test with Azula and her mega evolution.

The fire and ghost type was so in the zone of his own fight with the mimikyu, he didn’t even pay attention to his partners power up. In fact, he couldn’t even glance in her direction as suddenly the little fake pikachu doubled… no tripled… more than he could even fathom. Ozai glared at the copies that surround him, trying to find the real one but to no prevail. Getting very frustrated with his opponent, the alolan marowak body began to glow red. He turned to the nearest mimikyu and began to THRASH. The creature would continue until he hit the right one. His trainer, only shook his head is disgrace.

The mega evolved canine was even a little intimated by the dragon show of prowess. In fact, it only encouraged her more. Her legs flexed with the thrusted her body, her blood colored orbs flocked onto the dragon. She darted towards the beast, moving left and right in an attempt to not make her actions so predictable. And with the aid of odor sleuth, the canine would whip herself around last minute. Long arrow tipped tail would turn hard as steel as she attempted to IRON TAIL the dragon.

The alolan maroark thrashed about in a rage, hitting anything that looked even remotely similar to the mimikyu. With each hit, he got angrier. It seemed that the stupid little fake pikachu was only mocking him. Ozai continued to THRASH about in rage.

The mega houndoom charged at the dragon, ruby eyes glared as she maneuvered left na right until she had an opening. When she thought she had it, Azula whipped her body around. Long ebony arrow tipped tail took on glow before turning hard as steel. Slamming her tail into the dragon with all her might worked, but costly. The dragon manages to snag her tail, charging up a punch. Her eyes widened, feeling the yank of her tail. She showed no fear. Her body took on the glow of COUNTER, taking the hit while hoping it would bounced back at her opponent.

Ozai trashed his flaming bone around like a mad man. Eyes filled with rage, smacking anything that looked even remotely similar to the fake pikachu. But soon, the trash became too much. The creature paused for a moment, CONFUSED as to all hell. His puzzled glaze flickered over the copies all around him, unable to find the really one. Even as his opponent swung a massive hammer in the face, pained rippled through him he when flying across the field. Hitting the ground with a light thud and sliding to a stop. He growled, slowly getting to his feet. Unfortunately, the hit didn’t clear his confusion as he just stood there lost.
