A low hum parts from Katherine's lips before her shoulders roll backward into a shrug. Somehow, she doesn’t find it hard to believe that he’s faced better, as did she. The eagerness of his Kabutops is noticed too, driving her to retrieve a capsule of her own before releasing her Mimikyu from within it.

The ghost-type stares ahead at its opponent with its beady, dark eyes.

It doesn’t blink. Not even once.

”Don’t worry. I promise we'll entertain you.”

there's a shift in the air, a rush that surrounds the kabutops as AQUA JET swiftly closes the distance between the two. it looks to collide into the ghost-type with its entire body.

The same rush is replicated by the Mimikyu, who in turn allows its tail to glow with a faint, blueish hue. Like a true COPY CAT, it mimics its opponent's AQUA JET and attempts to strike with the same force; aiming for the very same limb that carried out the attack.

with them now up close, kabutops turns, shifting low before bringing a scythe of an arm up for a NIGHT SLASH.

The DISGUISE falls off.

Kabutops’ NIGHT SLASH meets its mark, successfully knocking off Mimikyu's DISGUISE with a single, direct hit. It earns the ghost’s ire with a single action, despite the lack of change in the pokemon’s expression.

A WOOD HAMMER replaces the AQUA JET boosted tail. It grows large before glowing with a verdant hue— and then it strikes.

The first AQUA JET of the battle manages to land, too. But Kabutops forgoes its defense by closing what little distance remained between Mimikyu and itself until now— allowing for the WOOD HAMMER to meet its mark, too.

If they were to exchange blows in such a manner, it’ll be down for the pokemon to prove who’s more resilient and durable - nothing else.

kabutops' BATTLE ARMOR can only do so much against a move that hits all of its weaknesses. the WOOD HAMMER connects, almost crippling, but it pushes through the pain to summon a STONE EDGE that bursts out of the ground beneath the mimikyu.

and with that, kabutops leaps backwards, creating distance.

The chunks of rock manage to uproot Mimikyu from its current position, sending it flying into the air. There, the COPY CAT utilizes the very same move to attack its assailant. The earth splits asunder to betray the Kabutops, taking advantage of its leap to attack the fossil-pokemon mid-descent.

A lone rock is carried into the air for Mimikyu to land on, making its return to the ground much more pleasant.

[attr="class","matias"]before kabutops is able to find land, it shoots up to find it instead, catching it off guard as it's carried up into the air. it struggles to come up with a solution, a counter, so matias steps in with a simple order:

"BRINE."

from up in the air, a gush of BRINE targets the mimikyu.

What’s the point in barking out commands when she can just repeat Matias’ own? Mimikyu manifests the same energy as Kabutops, channeling its true nature to copy its opponent’s move. Brine meets brine, water gushes against water.
