the two pokemon draw closer to each other with every passing second. it's only when the mimikyu nears enough that the BRINE from kabutops stops, instantly turning off before it swivels in the air, turning its entire body to graze past the BRINE before falling towards the mimikyu.

AQUA JET consumes it.

It all comes down to this.

Kabutops jeopardizes itself and sacrifices its long-range in favor of attacking first, utilizing AQUA JET once more. Mimikyu, on the other hand, acts reactively. Its own BRINE comes to a halt moments after its opponent’s, and as the AQUA JET strikes - it prepares its WOOD HAMMER.

The two exchange blows, a quick one for a mighty one.

Mimikyu recognizes the severity of the situation. Both the ghost and the fossil were on the verge of collapsing - one more than the other, however. They had the natural advantage whereas Kabutops was undoubtedly more resilient.

Mimikyu acts whilst the STONE EDGE is summoned. Its shadow extends and creeps behind Kabutops, sneaking to deliver an unexpected attack before the rocks are shot at the doll-like pokemon.

Should the SHADOW SNEAK prove to be faster, it just might net them the win.
