Shackles wind around Gavin's calves, but Lugia has dealt with such threads before. As chains of SHADOW threaten her avatar, the furious legend SHEDS them with a fierce flap of her wings.

Gavin has more Pokemon than just his shadows. Were it only Bill Anderson, he could stand his ground. But a glance toward the city reveals the authorities who've been summoned by the darkening skies and screams of panicked civilians, and it's clear that this battle will not end in his favour if he remains.

All according to plan.

"Cover us, Delphox."

It would seem as if the sun's gone out, a sudden blanket of black settling like a DARK ROOM over the sandy battlefield. Miasma mingles with it, consuming and confusing, and Gavin takes advantage of that confusion to climb aboard Lugia's back.

There's an eruption of sound as Aerodactyl ROARS and Tyranitar lets out a TERRIFYING bellow of its own. EARTH cracks and QUAKES underfoot and SHADOWS pull together into a STORM that walls off the underbosses retreat. His Pokemon vanish within their capsules and by the time the shadow and fog has cleared, Lugia and its avatar are nowhere to be seen.

No doubt Bill Anderson will look like a hero.

All according to plan.
